he hasn't exactly "proved himself" in a top tier league since he left. I doubt he has even improved much. Pique was an academy player whose rout was blocked by 2 WC CB. Completely insane comparison. Zaha is still not good enough for us and neither is Lukaku hence why he is back on loan to Italy.
I'm just saying different players thrive in different circumstances. Depay has scored 42 goals in 80 games for Holland. To say he's still unproven is a bit ignorant really.

Really hope this doesn't happen because he's been bang average for Barcelona. Seems like a big fish in a small pond kind of person. Lyon was his level and that's the kind of club he should fine.

The only way I could see this happening is as a favour to Barcelona as part of securing the de Jong signing.

Don’t think it would work out again but we’ve now got ten Hag.. he can make players much better.. he’d be cheap and add depth to the front line. He’s another left sided player though.. got tons of them. Need a left footed right winger to be honest.

I don’t mind him as competition for the 9 but he’s not good enough long term. Would be a bit of a underwhelming resigning.

I would definately go for this deal for 20m.

In situations where there are not many superstar no.9's, having multiple quality strikers is the best way to go about it. Chelsea used to do this with Drogba/Crespo/Gudjohnson till Drogba became a star. We also used this with Cole/Ole too.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen

I can promise that he absolutely 100% without question will not rejoin United

If he’s a United player on September 1st I’ll happily eat a shoe and upload it

With ETH as manager, I'd take him (back) as a decent sub/squad player/3rd-4th forward in a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1. Never as a Starting XI center forward.

 feck no

Some of you lot would sign Robbie Savage if it meant you could boast about a new signing.
We already have his son who is better than him already :)

Memphis is fine if it somehow gets the FDJ deal over the line.

On his own it would be a strange one.

The fee will probably go to De Jong and Barca can get two high profile earners off their books.

From what I remember they got Depay on a free anyway.

Didn't he diss the glazers in one of his shite raps?

Btw, he's on a modest salary at Barca.

Think people are mental to say no to this at 20 million, you would spend that money on some below average English player. Remember that we sold Dan James for more last year.

Depay is twice the player of James and I feel he has a point to prove if he ever came back. Not to mention, hes not having to deal with LVG terrible plays and Mourinho.

Funny how James scored more goals at the same age

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Because Depay is shite and we'd basically be paying ridiculous money for De Jong. Honestly it's getting to the stage where De Jong is subconsciously reaching levels for certain people that he is not. Let's not forget that this is a player that has a reputation based on what he did a number of years ago at Ajax. I just think we're getting took to the cleaners if we go down this road and once again have the desperate idiot image that we were apparently trying to rid ourselves of.

Think about it, were going to pay for a player that has flopped here and done jack shit since, just to buy another player. Some of you are so desperate for this shiny new toy that you're blind to the shit show it would be.
