If anything, we would be out of pocket - an Over 75 would be going on an Adult ticket. It's this bit in United's latest communication that worries me:
"It is important from both a security perspective, and to mitigate against increased cases of ticket touting, that we are fully aware of each attendee in the stadium at every match. Please note that transferring a ticket in any other way (for example sending via WhatsApp) is not authorised, and will result in the attendee being refused entry to the stadium."

If for whatever reason a steward does decide to check, the old chap could be turned away trying to use his daughter's ticket. Seems mad, really, but I suppose it's a risk many will be taking as sharing tickets with close family is very common - and I doubt everyone is going to sign up for official membership.
I wouldn’t worry about it that’s just there so they have something to fall back on. The chances of him being asked to show the name on an adult season ticket are next to none, the stewards don’t have the time or effort for that.

United couldn’t even be bothered to check COVID passes during the pandemic. I wouldn’t worry.

Never had our names checked against our tickets or had our Covid passes checked but on a couple of occasions there’s been a jobsworth steward on one of the queues at our turnstile who really slows things up by wanting to see your ticket before he does the security check and then takes an age to stare at it before carrying on.

To be clear, I am a member, I have tickets, I get how it works.

For £10 people can get a lite membership with the promo code.

There will be chances to buy extra tickets for most games. No one would imagine this is easy or guaranteed at this stage. But £10 gets you a chance.

Having been through the carnage of the main ticket day, even then it wasn’t guaranteed or easy. A lot of people walked away empty handed.

Im not saying it’s easy or guaranteed to get tickets at this point or any point.

But even if I didn’t have a membership or any tickets at this stage, I’d still sincerely buy one. Im excited for the season and a £10 membership to get to watch even one or two matches would be well worth it for me.
What’s this mythical promo code you speak of?

I was waiting to renew as I’m not really available to get to OT for a few months, but it’s worth it if it’s reduced.

It’s something to do with your birthday but it’s not actually reliant on your birthday…let me see if I can find it for you…

OK it’s birthdayOM all caps…worked for me, hope it does for you! 50% of all memberships if I’m not mistaken

feck YES LADS!!!

Just successfully got a ticket for the Gooner scum match in the ballot! For context, this is my first year as a member, but I have tickets for like 10 home matches this season plus all 3 Europe games, so dunno whether that helped in my favor?

Hope you all had good success! Leeds ballot is open, fingers crossed that one goes well!

Good for you as it's not your problem but what a load of bollocks this system is. Apparently done on loyalty??

I did 9 games last year on my membership, probably 50 in the 5 years before. Yet you get one with a new membership

Naff all for me as per.

Joke.
Patched for the Liverpool game and the Arsenal game. Hit off the press.

But alas, United shall let me try to log in along with 20,000 of my red comrades next month in the vain attempt to purchase one of the 1,000 United tickets for the Arsenal game.

Genuinely can’t be arsed, member for as long as I can remember and get knocked backed in every ballot whilst first year members get sorted. Not a dig at anyone but it’s a fact.

Did you try all caps?

And yeah no offence taken lads I’d be pissed if I was in your shoes tbh.

The only thing I can think of is a) because I only asked for a single and b) because I got 10 home tickets for the league plus all three for the europa it’s somehow rewarded me for that…

System is a joke though no dispute there!

really is. From my email -

“Please note that further to discussions with our Fans' Forum, this initial ballot was undertaken with priority being given to those Official Members who attend the most matches. Given the season hasn't commenced yet, priority was given to those who attended the most matches last season.”

simply not true is it going off the above? What was the cut off etc

in fact I’m sending an email to that Rick or whatever his name is. Not mean that in a flippant way, his name might be Rob but either Way he’s copping it.

I don’t know your name and in any case I’d never grass, it’s not your fault. But the fact remains and this has been going on for years about new members getting weighed in.

I wonder if they have had a drop off in new memberships since announcing new members have zero chance of a big game ticket and they have done a u-turn.

Thats an interesting point. Id be excited to hear from any other new members who had success in the ballot. Would be nice to figure out if there are any patterns like ‘oh we all got 3 stretford end tickets for the europa group games so are being rewarded for our commitment’ something like that.

For what it’s worth, my ticket is for the absolute highest section on the Fergie side so not exactly prime seats. Still, had a gander using one of those stadium maps that showed you the view and it looked like it will be watchable at least.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a regular, trustworthy member to effectively share my two season tickets this year. Annoyingly there are plenty of games I cant go to so if you want to watch 10 plus games at face value, then please drop me a message and we can work out the schedule on a game by game basis.

Cheers

Interested! I have singles for a lot of games already but depending on what you can’t make it to I’d by face value for those in a heart beat.

let me know pal! Also where abouts are the seats? Cheers

North tier 3. The view is quite fun as a novelty, personally wouldn't want to do it regularly but you do get a different perspective on the match.

Is anyone on this site travelling to games with the Birmingham Supporters Club this season?

Anyone interested in a free ticket to the Rayo pre season match? Stretford End. My brother can’t make it.
My preference would be for a Londoner or south east based fan so we can travel together.

No money wanted for the ticket. Preference for someone down to grab a pre match pint!

Still are, North stand tier 2 at £595 each !!! But I’m sure they’ll throw in a programme and a padded seat, so a bargain. The same seats for Brighton are £295 I think, they wouldn’t get away with that on the cafe, the admin would ban them

Just musing on how things will work this season, as I've taken the year break from season tickets of 7/8 years.

You can get a membership "Lite" for a mere £20, so just wondering about getting 2 of those, so that if I want to go with someone (potentially different each time), they could use the second one.

Now it's digital tickets, presumably you can transfer one of the tickets to them on their phone, rather than have both on yours and have to muck about passing them your phone?
And presumably they work in the same way as season tickets in that you can bring a mate, rather than it have to be the named person?
Strictly speaking, everyone is meant to be a member who gets a ticket (I think), but in practice you can do what you want to do no problem. Biggest issue is getting tickets in the first place !!

Thought I got lucky an hour ago when some tickets other than hospitality appeared but when I got to the check out I saw they were for the disabled section.

Surely disabled supporters tickets shouldn't be thrown in with the general tickets? Was a nightmare refreshing the page because it was suggesting there were tickets available cheaper than 175 but it was tickets I can't buy.

You might also get a coffee at half time if they’re feeling generous.

Where's the best place to find parking for a Thursday night game? Will need to get home after it as there won't be any trains, so that's not an option this time. The last time we ever drove into Manchester my dad and I sneakily parked near the swimming pool and somehow didn't get ticketed, and that was for Dennis Irwin's testimonial FFS.

I've seen people park for free in the road opposite the Premier Inn! I applaud their genius with that, but they must have to get there super early.

Can you just park at one of the metros?
Or even Old Trafford cricket ground if you don't want to battle the hordes on a tram?
