Love to see Mejia have another season in 23's and see what he can do. Amazing as a teenager but injuries have cruelly slowed him down.

Certainly was never amazing for us. He's barely played in 3 years.

I know, his results in Spain were s impressive and it was a great signing at the time. I remember watching his first game and he looked the goods and bang, got injured. Even watching him in the very few games he definitely has something. Whether he can fulfil that is the big question.

Just staying fit for the majority of season will be the goal for him. He's clearly got some talent, but I think consistency will be important for him.

Agree, same with the academy French kid central defender with huge ratings Willy Kambwala. Injured all the time. :(

Yeah, another shame, but luckily they've both got plenty of time on their side!

Manchester United U/19's flew to Frankfurt yesterday to participate in the Sparkassen Bundesliga Cup.

The eight-team tournament will consist of 50-minute games with United (the only non-German club) in a group along with TSG Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund.

The final will be played on Sunday.

I don't know the squad details as yet.

How they are going to manage the striker situation for U-23's? McNeill, Hugill and Mejia. Three players for one position.

Our new RB/RB/CF/DM
He's a very highly rated (left footed) right winger that has also been utilised as a second striker/#10 from what I've read. And from the short highlights below, he looks a very talented young kid with a high level of technical quality.

He was 15 in the below highlights.

Considering City have got Lawrence, who is a similarish player, I think our chances have improved. Hope we get him.

Apart from the two Spurs kids, know any other rumoured players we are linked to ??

Chelsea have gone on a spree on recruiting players for the academy.

We also tried to sign Lawrence from Everton but he grew up supporting City, which swayed things in their favour.

I haven't heard anything apart from the two youngsters from Spurs. And if we can sign both then that would represent two absolutely fantastic additions for the u18s team. But there are rumours about Leeds apparently offering Jayden Meghoma a bigger contract to join them.

Seems a bit quiet on the academy side, not a lot of rumours compared to these other clubs.

Again, hope we get our targets, even if it is just these two.

Correct, they've already brought in Bazunu and Lavia from City and have apparently just had a bid rejected for Delap.
They've just signed a 19yr old French striker from Bordeaux for 12m euros so I don't see them going back.

I presume the appointment of Joe Shields had a lot to do with it.
Possibly.

Shields worked under United's current head of youth recruitment, David Harrison at City, before Harrison was poached by United. Shields was a Crystal Palace youth Scout, 10 years ago and he's now been taken on as Southampton's head of youth recruitment. But it's ultimately come down to money for the two youngsters from what i've read, and Southampton have pushed the boat out a little further than what was anticipated.

Shoretire didn't feature...apart from 2/3 players it was mostly last seasons youth team.

Ennis, McNeill 3 and Mejia with the goals.
Do you have an idea why Shoretire wasn’t included on the tour? Has all of Mejbri, Amad, Garnacho, Fernandez, Iqbal, Savage and Fish passed him by in the eyes of Ten Hag, or is he being set up with a loan as we speak?

Has loan interest, same reason Fernandez ain't there.

Fernandaz played against Bayern Munich as did Hardley, Galbraith, Mejia and Wellens from the senior group.

Players yet to feature this season (as far as I know) are

U/18's - Hanbury

U/21 - Bishop, Mastny, Vitek, Emeran, Kambwala, Bennett, Hugill

Older group - Mengi, Williams, Bernard,

I can only assume they have injuries as there doesn't seem to be any transfer rumours at all on social media.

Apparently Bjorn Hardley has been pictured at Deepdale, not sure if it's true but it would be a good move for him as PNE are in real need of a RWB.
Both of their full backs being United players would be interesting haha.

Vidal's knee
Bjorn Hardley is left-footed, so he would play left center back or left back. Same position as Alvaro, or beside him.
