Another midfielder who can't pass the ball? Why do we want players in the middle of the pitch whose best traits are off the ball instead of on it?

On his way back to us. On the pitch he was excellent for us but his off the field views make it hard to love him as much anymore. No hope of him or the club making statements regarding that either which is a shame as they should.

Going from alleged pedo to a homophobe. Good look Everton

Everton's scouting is mindblowingly poor. Sell Gueye for decent money in a good deal, absolutely bungle every midfielder signing in the interim so that there's still a Gueye shaped hole there four years later, and then just end up going back for a worse version of the same player. Even if you write it off as a stop-gap signing, it's not a great signal for the ability of anyone in charge to actually unearth the kind of talented, young, under-the-radar players Everton need if they're going to dig themselves out of this hole.

He should not 'have' to wear any political shirt or symbol if he does not want to
Indeed, but it makes his views quite clear and we are entitled as he is to not wear those symbols, to shun him and others that have those views.

who do you feckin think ?
Agreed, its a bit like James McClean and the poppy, I don't agree with him but it is very much his right not to wear it. I would not go as far as shunning him though, that reflects badly on those doing the 'shunning'.

It’s a strange one because what IF one of his teammates was gay, would he ignore that person or refuse to play football?

Not really a bit like it at all though is it?

One doesn't want to wear a symbol of remembrance for a military who oppressed his country and people.

The other thinks a magical man in the sky hates gay people.

I wouldn't say it reflects badly on people who want to omitt homophobic people out of society.

I think that's where it becomes difficult as is it a case of he's 'fine' with it but doesn't want to be seen as 'promoting' his acceptance due to his country/religion etc. Either way it reflects poorly on him.

The poppy has bloody history, the pride flag is simply about tolerance. If he has no problem with gay people like you (or someone else) said, there shouldn't be a big deal about wearing it as a sign of solidarity.

Of course, I forgot I was on RedCafe, my bad. Let’s not derail this thread.
What does that even mean? You can be a Muslim, Christian, Catholic etc. and be supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. Religion and the world evolves.

I agree it reflects poorly on him but saying that, I am uneasy with him being punished for it.

Just like taking the knee was meant to be but have we seen Zaha and others being marginalised.
No one in this world has a right to force their beliefs on others. The people and culture he will retire to subscribe to a different way of life compared to how you perceive life should be lived.
A lot of people from Senegambia don’t give a toss about one’s sexuality, They just have no interest in being campaigners for a cause that has nothing to do with them. He is a footballer and that’s how he sees himself. Do people know anything about this guy apart from him being Muslim.
Personal I never thought him good enough for Everton let alone a club like us.
