I think the former could be more interesting and better in possession and creativity. The second would be more solid in the middle.

Its sad because everything was quite positive until Ronaldo came back into the picture, then the club just apparently stopped doing anything in the transfer window and have ignored obvious issues. Hopefully we can start the season well and make some signings to close the window
It's very frustrating. Who knows what's really happening with the De Jong transfer, but our seeming inability to work on other glaring issues is annoying. We may get a few in (although I'm skeptical) but the season has already started. I mean, these games do matter.

Anyway, I can sense myself getting riled up and we haven't even kicked a ball yet. Let's hope we smash these on Sunday.

Yep. Yes the window is open for another month... But the season starts now. Its inexcusable that we haven't reinforced out attack at all. ESPECIALLY, when you consider how bad last season was for us, and on top of that, the signings each and every one of our competitors have made. Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, Richarlison to Spurs, Sterling to Chelsea, Darwin to Liverpool, Haaland to City. What the feck have we done, all of these would walk into our team and we weren't the slightest bit interested.

Elanga and McTominay will be starting, might as well concede the game now.

As now shown, just how fuked we are up front with Martial pulling out due to a hamstring strain. Hate to say it but a draw might be the best outcome we can expect from this match

To our "Line-up prediction". I am not sure, but I think that every team can sub 5 players now.

Nah if Garnacho comes in it would be for Elanga with Rashford up top.

I have no idea what we’ll do now, obviously Ronaldo is going to get minutes but it’s either start him for 45-60 or sub him on. Rashford at striker makes me want to puke tbh
Ye suppose, forgot Martials injured isn’t he… if martial wasn’t injured though, I’d say garnacho for rashford with martial up top and sancho on the right. Garnacho will be a good option to have aswell to bring of the bench, we don’t seem to have much options of the bench nowadays. I think Ronaldo starts up top if martial isn’t fit… otherwise Ronaldo would of been on bench

Caf: "We need 11 brand new signings going into next season. Anything less than that is fecking criminal"

    Man Utd:
That’s crap. Martinez will play for sure. Malacia is in with a shout too. I imagine Erik will start Rashford up top, with Elanga and Sancho on the wings. Eriksen and Ronaldo could come off the bench. I also think McFred doesn’t start. Maybe Donny/Eriksen at 8 with Fred at 6.

Saw the comments online about Elanga potentially coming in for Martial with Rashford switching to the middle and Sancho moving to the left. Personally hate that idea as we are disrupting the entire front 3 due to 1 Injury and would far rather see Sancho and Rashford stay where they are so reluctantly I believe Ronaldo should start although I honestly would not be mad about putting someone like Amad in there instead if ETH does not want to reward Ronaldo for his cnutish behaviour.

    Not sure if serious?
Great point, let's pool from our other strikers who have played professional mens football and had a pre-season so are match fit, we could go with, ermm... Or maybe, nope! Nobody.
Yes my post was a little tongue in cheek to say the least, an attempt at irony. Oh for the days when we had Sheringham and Solskjaer regularly on the bench!

There was zero chance Garnacho would start over Rashford. What the hell?

Because of his age, yes. But his performance was better than anything served up by Rashford in a long time. He will continue to be protected by the club.
Rashford played well in pre season what are you on about

Even after playing 2 strikers we had those options! The game has changed somewhat though and if we still had Greenwood, I'd be comfortable with him, Martial & Ronaldo. Sesko would be a good enough edition if Ronaldo is motivated and he can learn from him in training and come on when game is won and get there slowly.

How absolutely pathetic our club is that we going into a new season where losing a player like martial to injury is seen as big blow. We are not getting top 4 as you don't see even arsenal in such a pathetic position as our current squad situation.

Whoever is responsible for this situation needs booting out of the club whether it be the glazers, Arnold, ten hag etc..

    We all love United
It’s the perfect chance to slot Ronaldo right in immediately into the starting line up without any drama, so i reckon Ten Hag will do it citing Ronaldo has had another full week of training and is raring to go

I do want to see us start the league campaign with a win this weekend, but what I want to see more of is:
    • high intensity throughout the 90 mins
    • defensive solidity/defending as a team
    • crisp and quick ball movement
    • off the ball movement/runs
I know we still need midfield and attack reinforcements, but I want the existing personnel to do and show a lot of the fundamental things I mentioned above in the game vs Brighton, last season's performances shall not be repeated and tolerated by Ten Hag.
