I like that team bar Bailey. Sure he was useless last season?
Slippy G said something about him being nailed on when the season starts, so we'll see and he's been on fire in preseason. I also edited it because I was editing the team :) I swapped Trippier for White and upgraded Murphy to Almiron, who as I understand it has done well in preseason, too. Bailey and Almiron are risky, but is Neto at .5 more than them really an upgrade? Bailey and Almiron are 5 M wingers on top half teams who are probably going be better than Wolves, but Fraser could take Almiron's spot.

Most of these teams have sacrificed Kane or Haaland and taken a dead spot forward to upgrade from Bailey/Almiron to some combo of Sancho/Rashford and Neto and maybe upgrade White to James or Perisic. I'll take the risk on Bailey/Almiron - I have zero faith in Rashy/Sancho and Chelsea looks a right mess - they're trying to buy players to cover for James/Chilwell!

Chickened out of double Liverpool defence. Mainly because I remember how much I hate relying on them doing well. feck them.

I've gone for Diaz, Sancho, Sterling, Mahrez and Andreas in midfield

No no , i fully agree going with the 3 premium strikers. I was only questioning Bailey but considering his form in pre-season. It might not be a bad shout.

It's easier if you post your whole team, but I love the Sterling pick. That's a bold differential that every team could be scrambling towards when Wild Cards start coming out.

Which 5.5 or less defender is good backup gameweek 1 and good starter over Neto for gameweek 3 and good potential player to replace with Perisic in the future?

The best is probably Arsenal def, but got Ramsdale right now. Walker is also good for this, but do not trust Pep starting him every game.

It's risky, very risky. But for anyone taking the Leicester 2 keepers risk at 4.0, it enables the threemium :)

Final team for GW1. Thoughts? Had to swap out Cucurella as I'm not sure he will be ready to play right away.

There was a post somewhere on how having 3 premium is an overkill. Too lazy to do the search. Would rather have 2 of them and upgrade the midfield.

And that's totally correct, IMO. I think threemium is overkill if you can get Kulu, Saka, Mount or Diaz in your midfield or go big at the back - but I'm just not feeling it for 5 at back (boring) and I'm not sold on the 8's in midfield yet - I want to see what happens with Kulu and Diaz first and then WC. My thoughts are this ... if Haaland, Salah and Kane all start hauling over the first few weeks and you're not threemium - you'll never be able to get to a threemium. If they don't, it's not not hard to get out the threemium to get an 8M mid or go big at the back.

They are low-value rotational options. Cucurella isn't a nailed on starter and I think Trippier will score more points than Zinchenko in the first round.
I was more on about having ANY two half decent players on the bench. Seems a waste but if you’re ok, go for it

(I’m not sure 55m Cucu is a rotational player)

No Salah and no TAA is risky, those are the 2 most consistent FPL top performers. You're banking on Chelsea to outperform expectations, which differentiates you. Could be genius, or you could be scrambling to get Liverpool assets in. Bold.

Cannot stop tinkering, thankfully deadline is soon here

changed out Robertson for Van Dijk, JWP for Rashford, Gelhardt for Greenwood & Neto for Bruno Guimaraes

Leaves me with one million in the bank so I can upgrade Bailey for either Benrahama or JWP after first round

Team looks like this now

GK: Ward
Defense: Van Dijk, Cash, Cancelo, TAA
Midfield: Salah, Martinelli, Rashford, Bruno G
Attack: Jesus, Kane
Bench: Sanchez, Bailey, Neco W, Greenwood

reckon I should make any changes? Is it dumb to have third striker for only 4,5m who most likely plays littel with Bamford & Gelhardt in font in the pecking order?

I've gone for DaSilva. Was between him and Colback. Neither are nailed apparently but DaSilva has at least shown something in pre-season so could force his way in. He's more attacking as well.
Cheers mate.

I got cold feet about not having one of Haaland or Kane so I squeezed in both... To the detriment of my midfield!

I really don't see the value in midfield this year so gone for the big hitters up top and at the back. If it doesn't work out, I'll wild card pretty soon

Love the double Cancelo pick. Could come off big time.

Well, it’s half two here so I think that makes it half four in dear old Blighty, so coming up to deadline.

Not changing again, got a few picks that I’m really 50/50 on but with an extra WC, I’m playing short term and going for early fixtures. Also trying to have a little variation from template and hopefully see upside.

Good luck all. Fingers crossed Aha-land misses a penalty and goes off injured after 20.
