We’ve apparently thrown in a fresh bid of over £70m in for Fofana and will bid again after this if it fails.

Anyone who thinks we’ll then also spend 80m on De Jong is mad.
No one would have guessed the Boehly transfer madness at beginning of summer though. He’s on a rampage!

You never know. Some time back Boehly met Laporta. Who knows how that psychopath rub off on Boehly!

Jees this thread is a shit show

Whats probably happened is we made a bid and had an agreement with Barca. Told Barca and De Jong to come back to us when they’ve sorted their shit.

And waited.

As ETH said, need to getthe right players not just any players. So De Jong or bust. Since then we haven’t done anything.

People on here moaning about no updates if something hasn’t been tweeted in 20mins then moaning when something has.

It’s only such an “embarrassment” to people obsessed with this thread as it seems to have taken up too much of your time so you feel as if United have been constantly on to Barca to try and resolve this.

This 'lever' stuff being normalized has been truly mad to see when that's always been considered as an absolute last resort option for clubs.

The fact that Barca have been doing it all willy nilly this summer to help with their buying of shiny new toys rather than actually helping with their gargantuan debt and all their unpaid wages will never not be mind boggling...

I don't know how anyone could blame the Sport director and CEO for failing to Sign FDJ if Ten Hag had insisted it has to be him or nothing.
I think we should be analyzing ETH and his pull for the players he has managed who wouldn't move to join him.

What's happened to all the Barcelona fans saying that they would be fine and that the bosses knew what they were doing?
They are still fine, they just need to sell more future incomes. And then we will have the same story next summer and the summer after that.

In terms of twitter sources where are we on @ Samtransfers?! cos I like what he’s saying

probably not but we can dream. also wasnt it 85 million euro total agreed. also he said it's not done which means we go back to the same potential holdup of the deferred wages.

He saying terms agreed with the player which would suggest the wage issue has been resolved. He's probably bullshitting though.

So will the fourth “lever” alone be enough, or will they also need to sell players like Memphis/Frenkie to be able to register the 5, no 7, players?

Ah, because an actual sporting director would just tell Ten Hag to suck it up and deal with the club's alternatives, because the sporting health of the club is far more important than catering to the whims of a manager that hasn't even been here for 6 months? You know, what every other top club in football does?

I'm not sure I understand the Chelsea fascination from Frenkie. Is it a London desire?

Chelsea have hardly been more consistent in making the CL than we have in the past few years.
