Amped for the new season, but I think the Packers' receiving corps may be just as bad as United's central midfield situation, I might just be doubly disappointed some weekends instead.

My gf is an Eagles fan though, they're gonna be pretty fun to watch this season.

Packers receivers do have two hands and two legs though, which seems to be the required criteria to start for us in midfield so …

Doubs has looked good in camp for the Pack but, yeah, I’d still be a bit worried. I think history will judge teams harshly on the order of the R1-2 WRs, thinking of Watson here, but that’s often true looking back on recent years.

Philly seems to be a popular dark horse. I’m not sold on them though, my pick in the NFC in that context would be the Vikes or Nawlins.

Yeah I think it's still too big of an ask for Hurts to step up enough for them to be genuine challengers, but they look like they have all the necessary pieces almost everywhere else. I think they'll have a winning record come the end of the season, and perhaps win the NFC East, but likely be one and done after that.

This can’t come quick enough. Going to be many sad afternoons watching United. The NFL will be an invaluable outlet for me.

Becton might be on ice for a while. That would be big, even if he was playing RT instead of on the left, if you were hoping the Jets’ offense and Zach Wilson were taking a big step up this year.

I don’t know who would be foolish enough to bet on that for fantasy here...:nervous:

Breece Hall should be safe enough bases on volume alone, and I think Elijah Moore is a viable WR2 as well - with upside should Wilson take a step forward. Other than that, it’s still the Jets unfortunately yeah.

A 9-4 split early/late window in Week 1 and arguably the three most juicy line-ups are TNF, SNF and MNF :(

The NFL still doesn't care enough about their European audience and adding one game in Germany doesn't make much of a difference to me. Understandable though of course.

I wonder how the split USA/non-USA audience is these days with their attempts at globalization. From a quick search: the 2020 SB was watched by 100 mio US citizens and between 30-50 mio non-Americans, apparently. So the numbers for the regular season must be a lot lower for non-Americans.

He’s severely hurt again?

Mixed reports on Twitter; Garafolo tweeted earlier that there were concerns that it was serious and could even be season-ending, but Saleh said yesterday that it "doesn't seem like a big deal".

Confirmation tomorrow apparently. Would be a huge blow for the Jets and Wilson after shifting him to RT.

Cat seems a tad brittle. Or severely unlucky.

Just how much in disarray are the Bears as a franchise? Roquan Smith has requested a trade, Byron Pringle might be unavailable for Week 1, N'Keal Harry has a high ankle sprain, and Fields' top three WRs at one point last weekend were Chris Finke, Nsimba Webster and Isaiah Coulter

Awful surrounding of your supposedly franchise QB by the Bears. I think highly of Eberflus though, let's see if he gets them playing well.

One of the main storylines of this season for me is the fate of the year two QBs, especially Fields. Contrast his situation to Zach’s who got a top 10 pick at WR, Pro Bowl guard, and 2 veteran TEs or TLaw’s whose new WR broke the market.

Even Detroit would appear to be doing a better job of rebuilding than Chicago...assuming they aren’t so far ahead of schedule they win too much to be in pole position to draft a QB.

It's only training camp reports so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently Goff has been a standout player in training camp, looking very comfortable behind one of the best O-lines in the league. I'm still a believer that he can be a SB winning QB in a capable offense. He's not a bad game manager.

Hope Fields comes good as he's super talented - however it's difficult to succeed in a bad setup regardless of how good you might be.

They are a great example of why I think grabbing your supposed franchise QB before you have the right building blocks is just a bit of a waste of time and resources often - how many times have we seen talented college QB's bust because they end up on a team like this with nobody who can make plays, an O-Line who can't keep them upright and who end up sacking HC's and OC's and cycling through different schemes and playbooks year-to-year (not saying all these things apply to the Bears but it's quite often the case that at least 2 of 3 of these things are true).

I'm optimistic as Eberflus is a big upgrade on Nagy and I think Darnell Mooney is great and should hopefully take a step forward, but personnel wise they are definitely worse than last year on that side of the ball.

Goff is a limited QB, who put in the right system for him, can certainly excel. He’s different from your game manager who is just good at everything. We saw in that year in the Rams that when the setting is right he can thrive.

Having said that, a QB of this ilk can succeed in the regular season, but their limitations become more pronounced when you face up against the leagues very best teams.

I think it is a very, very rare scenario where a QB like Goff wins the SB. Not impossible, but he would need a significant number of chips to fall his way.

I’m really with you on this. Yes, occasionally you’ll get that absolute gem of a QB who suddenly lifts your whole organisation and elevates it immediately just by being that.

But the far more common scenario is that a young QB is often a super talented individual but, at the same time, burdened by the significant pressure and expectation that comes his way. Elite sports is as much, if not more, about the mental aspect than the physical aspect. The initial experience of a rookie QB can really determine the outcome of their entire career.

I do wonder why teams don’t at least get a solid foundation in place first before getting their QB. The teams that did this appear to be the ones who are reaping the rewards right now.

I do understand the other side of it though. You’ve got to appease your fan base and how many times do you hear fans moaning about how the team is wasting money on skill positions when they ain’t getting anywhere without a QB. It’s a bit of chicken and egg.

I don't know if anyone watched the first episode of Hard Knocks, but it was great. I haven't watched Hard Knocks in years but being a Lions fan I decided to watch. Dan Campbell, Jamaal Williams and Aiden Hutchinson were all highlights and the rivalry between DC Aaron Glenn and assistant coach Duce Staley was electric. Hopefully the rest of the season is just as good as the first episode. I don't know if MCDC is going to pan out but he really is easy to root for.

Highlight of the episode was Hutchinson singing Billy Jean. Evidently each Lions rookies has to perform some sort of song or dance in front of the entire team and this was Hutchinson's:

I would be but the try hards are dynasty leaguers who probably won't give 2 shites about a fantasy league.
Nah not true, the league we’re still looking for people for is actually 50% dynasty people or so.

The most random NFL stat I came across today: the Ravens are currently on a 20-game preseason win streak dating all the way back to 2016  Longest of all-time.

Heading to a bar soft opening in Baltimore tonight. The guy totally forgot about the ravens game. Traffic is miserable and parking will be a bitch
