They are basically selling to themselves, they’re a conglomerate. We weren’t beaten by any means
Logic won’t stop them peddling the negative narrative. This was the right hand feeding the left hand. They sold to themselves essentially. He’ll go to Leipzig next year, have two good seasons and they will sell him for 70m and continue this pattern as many times as possible. We went beaten, by any means, it was an inside job.

Anyone blaming us for not getting this one done I am sorry but you're not reading the situation correctly. This is what happens with these teams - Salzburg to Leipzig to big club. The Red Bull group were never going to let this play out any other way. That's why it's half the fee that we (and Chelsea) were quoted. Even then if we had said "here you go, here's 50 million", I still think what has happened would have happened. I also can't blame the lad and it's probably the best for his development too - play first choice for Salzburg, then first choice for Leipzig.

Think we just took a punt that he might have fancied it and forced a move.
Halaand didn’t go to Liepzeg neither did Minamino

The player had to agree to that move, so this wasn't a mapped out plan by Redbull.

Once we knew Arnautovic might be available we only had eyes for him. Who needs the potential next big thing when you can have a journey man footballer on the way down.

Print that off and frame it. Put it on your fridge.

If it's true that us, Chelsea and PSG were all interested there's no way none of those clubs would've tabled a more lucrative offer than what he's going to Leipzig for. Mental that it's allowed to happen.

Yep. Like you and a few other have said above this was always going to happen, his agent more or less said this when he talked about development.

Ah here we have the first deluded one with the most stupid excuse I've yet seen. Never knew Haaland went to Leipzig after Salzburg must have missed something. Or Mane for that matter. What absolute nonsense. We simply came too little and too late once again.
Too little too late? Eh!

We were the only club linked with him 2-3 weeks ago! & it was out the blue!

What are you on about? Did they demand 60m from Dortmund?
You're acting as if it's some closed loop where the RB clubs only transfer players between each other, and yes, Salzburg wanted lots more for Adeyemi originally, yet the negotiating team done it's job early and convinced Adeyemi to play for them.

That's the trick with transfers, you take to players early and get them to want to sign for you, it makes negotiating much, much easier, happened with Gravenberch and Mazaroui with Bayern too, yet United come calling at the 11th hour expecting a player to suddenly change their mind and sign for a mediocre club.

It worked for Malacia, but it's not always going to work.

Worked because the alternative was lyon. But us vs steady big clubs we will always lose.
It worked because it was 1 out of 10, the other 9 times a player will sign for the club that has been talking to a club the longest.

It's why Bayern had no real competition for Gravenberch or Mazaroui, and why the fee for Gravenberch is similar to what we're apparently going to pay Juve for Rabiot.

Go all out for Nkunku now for next season then. They have two replacements now.

Ok, so Sesko is not happening.

But despair not, esteemed muppets, I have a new target for you.
Treble winner, a good number of games for a top club, a good season in the Belgian league on loan, young yet experienced, tall, physically strong, very clinical, Dutch, good hair.

He is available too, for as little as 25m £. Go for it. I'm talking about

Joshua Zirkzee.

But United can just buy Dzeko he's only 36 seems like something United would do

I can't put my finger on it but this RB stuff seems corrupt.

Only 24m for Leipzig.
Yep shady as shit. How it is even allowed to have an interest in two teams that could essentially compete in the same competition is just wrong.

Don't even think about Nkunku a talent of that level isn't even considering joining us.
It is time to final look at youth level and start using those guys. It is the only way up for Utd. Either that or stop youth development as we're not getting much out of it when we continue buying old players.

They were quoting 40-50m for him in regards to other clubs only to sell him to a sister club with the same owner for half that price in hopes of selling for much higher profit in a few years...

Is this sort of incestuous double-dealing business legal? Can't ever remember the City group clubs doing something similar

Depressing that Leipzig is chosen by a 19yo over us.
He also chose them over PSG, Chelsea and the other interested clubs. Like his agent said, he went the development route like Haaland/Bellingham instead of making the big move too early.

I don't think multi-club-ownership should be legal, but Salzburg have never sold anyone for (much) over €30m and that includes Adeyemi to their direct competitor this very summer, when he's probably the more valuable player for the moment. So either those €50m were a United tax or a fabrication by the English media. On paper they always pick appropriate sums for transfers to their main team and why wouldn't they - the money stays with them after all.

Those 50m were mainly a "not for sale" tax this year imo. He is only joining Leipzig next year and Salzburg was always ready to sell him then, just not this year. 24m is the normal price you would expect for a player like him and in line with other players Salzburg sold.
