It's not?

The talk was that he was insulted by the opponents for the whole match and he's a very emotional player. And I don't have to tell you that certain Balkan countries don't get along well...
He also called two black players the n word. The guy is a racist. If we bring him in we are even more of a joke.

If we sign a known racist then we might as well get greenwood back in tbh
We already resigned Ronaldo and fought tooth and nail to keep him here. The club aren't arsed unless the optics on social media are bad enough.

It’s a very bizarre decision from a club that is all about positive PR.

The majority of comments on social media are fans saying they’ll boycott the club if we sign a known racist.

I fully expect Greenwood to be playing for us again this season. I think the case will get brushed under the carpet.

It will be interesting to see how they handle that PR disaster.
Good job Greenwood doesn't play for Arsenal, they would of just carried on playing him and hope everyone forgets

He’s never been banned or found guilty of racism. I’m also not sure why people continually equate those two alleged incidents to what we heard Greenwood do either. He could be a racist - probably likely is - but he isn’t a known racist. The Club PR will say the Dutch incident was dropped 12 years ago and he got banned for abusive but not discriminatory language at the Euros.
He did get done for racism got banned by uefa.

If all we want is a big Austrian to bring off the bench in the latter stages of games to win all the duels, I'd much rather we sign Kalajdzic or Gregoritsch. Both younger than Arnautovic, both better in the air than Arnautovic and both work harder defensively than him. Also, to my knowledge, neither of them are racist cnuts.

Time to fire Murtough and remove ETH from any say in transfer targets if both think Arnautovic is a good signing.

This is actually bonkers and criminal.

Not one positive comment regarding this in the media. Literally every single fan, journalist and football commentator is calling this out for the bullshit decision it is.

What done the perception of Greenwood was the video/audio evidence was quite damming , a lot of people have made their minds up on him regardless of the court(if there is any) outcome.

If there was no video/audio his career could also still be alive today.

No quality player is cheap in the transfer market these days. I would prefer United to pay good money for a top young striker than signing thirty something year olds almost every season.
Osimhen? Quality player? Are you having a laugh? He's scored as many goals in the league as Arnautovic and he plays in a team that actually creates chances for him, as opposed to Arnautovic. And no, I don't rate Arnautovic at all.

Stunned that we're still pushing ahead with a player banned for racism. At first I assumed it was just the usual negligence from the club in doing their research. Now it's just compliance. Disgusting.

This isn't going to happen.

What was the racist thing(s?) he said/did and why was it racist anyway? I heard he was insulting Albanians after scoring a goal but didn't read into why/how.

If Ronaldo is going out you can bet your arse we'll be replacing him with a player that is a hell of a lot better than Arnautovic.
We might well be - but Arnautovic as a squad option isn't a bad shout at all.

It’s a sad reality but I think the fans need to realize that United at the moment is not a attractive prospect for high level players. Their are the couple that will come of course but United is not the first choice option for a lot of guys.

This current state of United reminds me of when Liverpool were signing Joe Allen, Stewart Downing, Jose Enrique and such while having Ngog at striker.

Arnautović for what United current level is, all things considered is an ok signing. You don’t have the ability to attract elite players right now and Arnautović could probably still put in some better performances and a better shift then the likes of Anthony Martial.

United have a long way to go to come back and personably if I was United I would attach the marker and season one a different manner.

- Promote the biggest talents in the club and give them a run on the bench and the very best ones at first team I.E Garnacho, Garner etc

- Sign talented Young players who might be interested to join a big name and a club with less pressure to win (atm)

- Buy some veteran players that can guide the youth, guys like Christian Erickson fit that role perfectly

- keep some veteran or core pieces that can be of value on the squad, I.E David De Gea.

Rebuild the club the correct way!

“The UEFA Appeals Body has decided to suspend Austrian Football Association player, Marko Arnautovic, for the next (1) UEFA representative team competition match for which he would be otherwise eligible, for insulting another player”

If it was deemed discriminatory he would have got a 10 match ban.
Come on man really? He has been accused of it 4 times and UEFA banned him for doing it. The only reason he got one match is because its extremely hard to prove because of witnesses. It's clear he is a racist.

"literally thinking"
What does that mean?
I don't think we need to have a grammar discussion or an argument about the misuse of the word "literally" here. But to answer your question - I was simply underlining the fact that I had the exact same thought.

Pretty much nail on the head there mate.

We are far from an attractive proposition, however while you mention Eriksen who's character has never been in question and then spin to this guy who has a ton of red flags these are not the same thing.

We need to just ignore this player there is surely another veteran forward we can get who has good quality with none of the issues this guy represents if we are to guide the young players.

or we need to just go with the young players and endure until we can build back up better.

I do fear the longer the malaise goes on with players and the media we become even less attractive to the right players, i dont think we are quite at the bottom of this cycle yet and in the coming weeks, months and potentially years could get very very ugly
