Great. Now we'll be obligated to meet Ajax's demands and sign him otherwise our relationship will be ruined with him and the club.

Sigh, I guess we'll just have to pay the money and buy a phenomenal right winger...... Sucks being a United fan sometimes....
Not sure Ajax are amenable to sell him at all.

Tbh I haven't watched him for years so no idea. But Arsenal got rid of him so not really a good sign imo.
Think that was to do with him not fitting into what Arteta wanted to build there but could be wrong

That tbh I have no idea I don't really follow Arsenal. But based on what I known about Auba yeah it seems the case. He's really fast and quite a good finisher but probably lack the strength and work rate to play as a #9 in a possession side. Plus he's already 33 yo and imo we should stop signing old players.

I think he was also quite disruptive. Late for training, meetings, flying off to Dubai etc. Unbecoming of a club captain and was seen as a poor example for the younger players I assume.

Antony is better than Sancho. Specifically because Sancho lacks strength and stamina he fades during games as you can see.
Antony at Dutch league is better than Sancho at PL.

But Sancho at BL is better than Antony at Dutch league.

Because they don't want to sell him and you're here talking about they should be grateful for us. "They are just a sellers club" - Ajax is a historic football club.
But he desperately wants to leave them, they are holding him back and blocking his big move, and we are willing to overpay massively for him.

They should be grateful for us because we are the only club offering insane amount money for a player who no longer wants to play for them, and no other clubs are interested at anywhere near our offered price. I mean he could leave them for free in few years time, or for very low fee when he is on last year of his contract, that could easily turn into another Gravenberch situation (selling for cheap) or even Pogba situation (leaving for free) for them. And he could be toxic in their dressing room over coming season or so.

Plus in the past, we are always paying good money for their players too, unlike some other clubs who would take their players on last year of their contract on discount fee. As football club they have a great history and we respect that, but as seller club (as in recent 30 years) we are always treating them with utmost respect and always willing to giving them the best we could offer.

They are just fecking us around this time, going against the player's wish and their very own tradition of how they always run their club, acting like an ungrateful cnut and keep ignoring our insane offers, for a player they have absolutely zero chance of keeping in future anyway, who is currently going to media bitching them and going on strike.

Need him and hope we sign him, Elanga should not be a starter when one player (Martial) is out. Need depth and although expensive it is who Ten Hag wants so back the manager. Angry about all the tweets after Brentford loss that Utd was looking at 3-5 more signings and going out with a bang than just quiet after Casemiro. feck the Glazers and hope people remember that and continue to show disliking for them, seems Utd SoMe is more quiet now from fans that we won two games and signed one player. It's not enough and won't blind me from the leeches

This. We don't need personalities like him in the dressing room.

Terrible. We should stay far away from players who refuse to train or play matches.

Still think we will get him before the end of the season and he's much needed too. Will just have to suck it up with the price the club has to pay, as result of sheer incompetence.

Anthony, rashford and Sancho does seem a lot more comfy as wide options compared to now and I guess we will have to leave striker and RB for next summer

Yeah, got to say, he's really fecking exciting, better spent on him than in the glazers bank account.

Glasgow resident these days.
I’m very skeptical about this deal. Clearly, United made an offer, but I suspect they knew it would be rejected. I don’t think the Glazers will sanction such a huge outlay now and we are bidding to keep the fans off their back.
We won’t sign Anthony, or any other player (maybe keeper on loan) this window. The Glazer PR machine bought them time.

I am very skeptical about this deal. Just 8 goals 4 assists with 1.8 dribbes per game as a winger in Dutch league last season.

is he really a top play that worth 80m? never in million years

I personally don’t care about stats or money -

We need him because Elanga is a level below and always has been.

Ajax are a great club and should be respected. I hate it when United fans behave arrogantly towards others. Show some humility and let's just hope we meet their asking price
Absolutely. If the system hadn’t been totally gamed by money they would still be regularly making CL semis and finals. They do everything the right way.

Stop worrying about stats, start looking at hi technique and his skills, then think about how he will become a better player each season as he adds experience and game understanding.

There's only one United!
And?
You can be confident. Doesn't mean it always works out.

They can because they know Antony has the World Cup coming up. They know he won’t continue to miss matches once the window closes because he really wants to make the NT squad.

They have previous for rejecting a record bid and then selling for less — see David Neres

Regarding us and Neres. It's totally different to the Antony situation.

I'm not so sure we were ever really that serious about Neres. We didn't put a proper bid in until the final week of the window.
It's also reported that he turned us down and even signed a new contract with Ajax a few days later.
Overall, thank God we dodged that bullet.

Antony is an entirely different situation though as he wants out badly and is reported to be extremely unsettled.

I was actually referring to the mega bid that a club from China put in which they rejected, only for him to end up at Shakhtar for like half the fee. I didn’t recall us being in for him, to be honest.

:lol:I guess you were really 'grateful' too when Real Madrid paid a world record £80m to take Ronaldo off us.

I don't like the lack of professionalism from Antony, it's a huge red flag. Exciting player, but we need players with a strong mentality - going on strike, refusing to train, attacking his current club with interviews and leaks about meetings are not indiciative of that. Hope I'm wrong.

I feel the same, but we've backed ourselves into a corner. We're so desperate for numbers and it would be ridiculous if we didn't add at least one more attacker (two if Ronny leaves)...

Mane did the same at Salzburg when he wanted to leave. You think he had a poor mentality too? I for one acktually love it that a player like him wants to join us so desperately.

They are rinsing the club but it wouldn’t have been like this if we acted sooner in the window. It’s our own fault unfortunately. Clearly evident we need him or someone else to play in that position as Elanga isn’t up for it and let’s not bank on ‘you know who’ making a return to football  Just look at it as being the same price as Maguire.

Van Dijk at Southampton too.

As long as it doesn't become a problem for us later on, it's great that he desperately wants to join us. I do think that the interview with Romano, social media posts and attacks on the club are a bit much though. I don't particularly like him going on strike - but that part I can understand, it's all the other stuff on top of it that rubs me the wrong way.
