Well i can tell you now that Antony is alot closer to Nani than he ever will be to Milner so enjoy :)

You must really have been enjoying our last few seasons then when none of our players on the pitch have had the ability to dribble or shoot hard.

We at this club have thrived on having game changers that have the ability to take on a man and cause fear in defences. That in itself opens up space for the rest of our attacking unit and something that we have sorely missed for a very long time.
Why so binary? As someone who frequently found Nani annoying as feck but loves a productive flair player, there is a middle ground. It's not as basic as grafter v flair player - pick a side.

Poor Weverton. Other than the guy who fits indicators to BMWs, is there a more pointless job than being back up to Alisson and Ederson?

Thanks. Now, who is ahead of him in the queue to be a starter? Just Vinicius?
Competition on the right wing is mainly with Raphinha, but Vinicius and Rodrygo can play there too.

The talent is finally coming back to Brazilian NT, they should be a favourite for the WC this year.

The 100m fee is just a sign of how weak we are at the moment. It's been this way for years. We're so poor, everyone knows we're desperate for signings to try and improve.

Under Fergie, we could walk away from signing the likes of Kluivert, Hazard or a Robben, knowing full well we'd still be able to challenge.

Ah, that's sad... So, most likely he won't start for Brazil :( Well, who knows. Maybe he sets the world on fire here and Raphina gets benched.

Sounds like he's gone through actual hard times, not moaning about the "0.012% therefore you cant criticize me" kind of "hardship".
I linked to an article earlier today about him, good read. He grew up in a place called Little Hell.

Agree 100%. That's why my argument since the window began was to avoid superstars and make a few shrewd signings like Malacia, Eriksen etc. that can really bring something to the side.

Two 50M mids would've been better than Casemiro for 70M if we just had the planning to target guys like Guimaraes, Kessie, Brozovic etc.
Casemiro is miles ahead of the other CMs you mentioned

We need quality not quantity

Who knows, he started their 2 most recent games he was available for vs Chile & Bolivia.

We’re living in a time where unproven Isak cost £70m, so £85m (in GBP not EUR to inflate the figure) isn’t all that bad. Antony is about as proven as Nunez, and cost less than Grealish, but as it’s United then it suddenly becomes an issue.

He's basically even with Raphinha looking at the squads he was fit and ready for and they've been rotated. Maybe raphinha has slight edge due to age and experience.

Nani
Goal contribution per game = 2.01 or per 137.8mins (based on the 15,710mins played for us)

Rashford
Goal contribution per game = 2.01 or per 132.1mins (based on the 20,082mins played for us)

Martial
Goal contribution per game = 2.07 or per 136.2mins (based on the 17,708mind played for us)

As I said...debateable.

He was a good player. He had a few outstanding seasons. He never once had to shoulder the attacking responsiblity of the team.

Call me out yourself mate. The stats are available to debate.
Stats are close, but there is also the eye test. Martial or Rashford would struggle for a game in the teams he played in. Peak Nani would walk into this team. Yes he never had to shoulder attacking responsibility himself, maybe his stats would be better if he had, but he had the talent to do it, more than Martial or Rashford(imo, I'm biased, loved Nani)

I'm sure one of the reasons he was so desperate to join is because United is a higher profile club and his chances of starting for Brazil would improve tremendously if he hits the ground running.

His desire to play for Brazil NT will count in our favour.

How long did this last though? I love Nani but just like when he played for his, opinions are polarized, he's either extremely underrated or overrated. Personally I'd say he had two truly WC seasons, the other ones are just okay. Rashy had two very good seasons, so its really not that far off.

Well he definitely had to step up after Ronaldo left, and that is where he shone.

All 3 have been fantastic at various times in their careers judging by those numbers.

Fair comment, I don't disagree that peak Nani would walk into this team. Personally I found him an incredibly frustrating player other than his couple of seasons where he stepped up. I could say the same about Rashford and Martial. Peak Rashford and Martial would have walked into that 2011/12 team ahead of Welbeck and Hernandez.

My point is, there's a debate to be had. Saying Nani was far better is clearly wrong and stinks of nostalgia.

Nani was levels above Rashford and Martial. There's no debate to be had, that's just fact.

Anyway I can't wait to watch Antony play, it has been too long since we've had an unpredictable flair player like that on the flanks.

So why the feck is it so widely reported as the £51m that Dortmund received?!
Manchester City activated the Norway striker's release clause and the player will join on July 1 for a total of £85.5m including agents fees and other add-ons; Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said the Haaland deal will "set new levels" in the transfer market

https://www.skysports.com/football/...ve announced the, costs are taken into account

Would suspect Raiola got a fat bag from it.
