Such a good player and I believe he’s going to be the difference in us making top 4

Remember thinking he was done about 60mins in. Good thing I’m not the one making subs. Top game.

I wasn't excited by this signing but he's definitely done well, has the quality to make us into a top 4 team and grow in the future into title challengers. Shows just how much we missed, and need, a quality deep playmaker in the side.

such a shame, that people forgot about him a bit in the later tottenham days calling his form failing, saw nearly every game, and there was not a game that he did not make MULTIPLE great passes for free runs on goal, but Tottenham failed to "convert" the same with Inter, but Conte wanted more arrogance from him, more selflishness..

Eriksen has always been a team player, and he has never had a "form" dive, he just makes a team better, that is what he does, he plays more selfish on the danish team when we had hareide and he was 1 goal pr game, but that was what was needed from him.. and i really don´t understand the constant.. "he looks tired" this is just how he looks, he is the player that RUNS the most, and as you also saw, on the Rashford second goal, he has speed (not Adama pace") but speed none the less.. still hope Bruno is either put on the wing, or on the bench and Eriksen can get his Offensive role, he is so much better there, than running defence.

He is absolutely class.
He is such an intelligent player. Always picking the right passes, his awareness on/off the ball etc.
Sometimes we don't really see it, because he just makes a five meter - but clever pass - but in the end it is exactly what we have been missing for several years.
Such a great guy to have in the team. Vital player already.

On Eriksen (player of the match v Arsenal)

He has ability to keep hold of the ball and this team has been severely lacking players who can do that for years. So in that sense he's very useful. Other than that though, I don't particularly rate him. He's decent, never poor, never outstanding but he's not a CM or 10 who's going to be first choice in a winning side. He doesn't create masses of chances, he's not great defensively, he's decent in possession but doesn't exactly dictate play. He's no Scholes/Carrack. I don't really see what he does that would see him rated as a top top player, he's just a decent CM/10 who can do a job for say a top half of the table side, but not a title challenging side. He's not at that level.
Whilst slagging off Casemiro post match today and saying he’s finished;

I hate to say it but am I ever wrong about a new signing.

He's been very good. I think the intention was always for him to play a lot in this role rather than a Bruno back up many thought. Which is why we were never in for an additional midfielder.

Matas right wing position isnt out of position though, hes played and excelled there most of his career.
Has he? Thought he won player of the year at Chelsea playing in CAM

He is a top player. Brilliant signing. He would make a huge difference in big games like today. Class player.

I slightly doubted his physical ability but his overal quality is really great. Talking about a free player who didn't come to be a squad player but showing real quality to be a starter for top team.

HIs one touch passing and vision withBruno can be really exquisite. We can kill the teams very quickly even if not dominating possession just yet.

he and oscar interchanged alot they were fluid with hazard sticking mainly to the left. He played RW almost exclusively at Valencia . Obviously he inst an Antony/Mahrez style Winger hugging the touch line but he has always played on the right hand side drifting between lines most of his career. yes hes played 10 a lot too but to say him playing rw is out of position is a bizarre statement

Yeah Mata has played in almost equal measure as a left, central and right attacking midfielder. None of these positions are out of position for him since his Valencia days.

Good to see that people on here are starting to understand just how important he can become for the team.

De Jong wouldn’t be able to do the same.

He's doing the Frenkie job with less aplomb but enough effectiveness.

I think he needs more praise to be honest. A big part of our 4 wins.

A lot of talk about his physique. Look at him making runs in behind Arsenals defence from minute 1 to the very end, while also getting back to help cover his teammates time and time again.

A huge team player, perfectly exemplified by him passing the ball to Rashford for the goal. His has a solid finish with both feet and could easily have sealed his first goal for us in a big game at Old Trafford. But he decided to help build his teammates confidence.

He just keeps things ticking in midfield. Understands that we need to move the ball quick in order to create chances, and does so both in small spaces and over longer stretches. Almost always with his first touch.

MOM performance if it wasn't for Rashfords goals.

Came across really well in the analysis and interview in the Sky post-match. Honest, and has a quite dry and self-deprecating sense of humour.

Involved with all 3 goals. First 2 were quick passes cutting through Arsenals midfield to Bruno, 3rd goal was a beautifully timed 3rd man run.

I was very critical of him at Southampton and Leicester, but he was great today.

Turns out we ended up with a close enough approximation to De jong, on the cheap, and the player wants to be here.

Win, win.

Majestic, absolutely majestic. Midfielder like him we didnt have since, well, Scholes. Some of his passes were perfect. What's great about him he finds passes most players dont even see and he takes no time in doing it. Takes a touch and then sends a pass and he's been doing it the whole evening. It feels surreal we got this kind of player on a free.

Shame he's not press resistant.

hehe

Such an intelligent player on the ball, the kind we've been crying out for in midfield for a long long time. He was excellent today, will only get better as his fitness improves.

I'm watching the highlights on Match of the Day and they've done a good analysis on Eriksen. He's some player. I absolutely love him. Wasn't sure at all about the signing at the time, but he really suits us and massively improves us. Got to say that I'm enjoying the McTominay + Eriksen combination more than I thought I would.

He is a player of "interventions". He is not capable of impose himself and control a game. But at the moment he has been good, so fair play.

Outstanding today but it was never a free kick for the Martinelli goal. Only a foul if a goal is scored it seems. I would be fuming if it was the other way. Ref is standing very close and Tierney is well known for not giving soft freekicks

It doesn't feel like anything phases him. He's so cool and calm in most situations.

Maybe nearly dying will do that to you...but yeah, he's just class.

Can't believe we got him on a free.

I hope now everyone realize what I knew long before - Eriksen is better than De Jong.

Yes, I’m Eriksen personal fan and I was the last person to wait for him in summer 2020 in muppet thread even after BBC announced he joins Inter.

He is a generational talent, he has one of the highest IQs in football.

Loved his assist for Rashford. Not many players would have gone for the pass there.

Also loved how in two matches in a row, we essentially walked on the goal. These were the types of goals City have every second match, but we never seem to be able to do.

Have to say I massively doubted him deep in midfield but it's working. A rare type of player that can play pinpoint passes through the lines. He can lay on an assist from anywhere, but more often than not he's going to be playing the key pass before the assist
We have missed this so much. Don't think we've had it since Carrick retired.

All the people that came out with the “he’s a 30 year old player with a pacemaker” stuff should hang their heads in shame. He was the one that took the deep run after 75 min. to put the game to bed.

Really clever business from us, and I thought it was obvious before the season even started
