These Chelsea games really don't hold back don't they? One bad season and the manager is sacked regardless of whatever shit he did. Wish we are that ruthless with our managers in general. They know they spent a lot of money and what's presented on the pitch isn't good enough. Meanwhile we give our managers 2 or 3 years winning feck all before starting to think about sacking them.
Unless Tuchel pissed in the owners coffee or had a major fallout with the dressing room, this is an insane move by the club. Hes a good manager and the PL is ridiculously competetive these days. If Bohely thinks Potter or Poch are going to take on Pep and Klopp just like that they are in for a rude awakening

Crazy decision. I don't know what but I had this feeling early in the summer that they would be the crisis club. Crazy how pivotol Tuchel was in the transfer window only to be sacked days after it ends.

This is why Chelsea will always be a joke of a club. Short termism runs from top to bottom.
They’ve won 5 PL titles, 5 FA cups, 3 league cups and the Champions League twice in 18 years, I’d say whatever they’ve been doing been working.

How many trophies have we won by giving Moyes, Jose, Van Gaal and Ole buttloads of money to spend and time to waste?

Seems like a crazy decision; he's clearly a top manager. While Potter is doing well with Brighton, it's pretty obvious that Tuchel is the better manager.

Although this was a crazy decision; it shows how terrible we are at letting managers go when it's obvious they're at the point of no return, and we let it fester for months on end. We literally rewarded Ole with a new contract for a eh 2nd place finish and a EL Final loss to Villareal.

Bonkers indeed. Tuchel got a lot of players he wanted, and now, they sack him 6 games in. He should have been sacked if it continued like this for a while, but it's clearly too early for the sack.

Well, hope whoever succeeds him does a worse job. One less contender for that top 4 spot.

Suspect he and the club had summer long disagreements on recruitment, the relationship never recovered and poor performances made a parting of ways inevitable

As mad is it seems, we were starting to look more than capable of finishing above Chelsea. Unlike our owners, Chelsea’s don’t wait until it’s too late to act to save a season.
Or they’re being ridiculous, and it’s a disastrous decision

Chelsea are so screwed.
Almost reads like they sacked him for knowing more about football than the owner & his pals, & he was exasperated at their silly questions.

I feel for the poor banner makers, how do they keep up?! That big Deutcher Maestro banner now in storage with the rest.

Communication and culture issues. When you have new leadership and those 2 don't align with management, no matter how good you are at your job, it's usually inevitable that the result is either a resignation or a firing. A football club is no different in terms of organizational management.

Interesting that Chelsea seem to have gone a bit shite on the management side since Roman sold.

I think that may be wishful thinking understandably as a Brighton fan.

I think the concern with spurs would always be would the owner give him any money to build the team.

At Chelsea it’s clear any manager will have plenty to spend. I think Potter will snap their hand off for the chelsea job. I don’t think he’ll hesitate.

Personally I think they already know who the next manager is. They wouldn’t have acted this swiftly if they didn’t.
Apparently they’ve approached Brighton to ask permission to open talks, as well as Poch or Zidane - given how difficult we made it for Newcastle to get Ashworth, hopefully we’ll do the same and the others may turn out to be an easier and cheaper option.
Potter still has a long contract with us.

I don't think it's a kneejerk reaction. Seems to me they couldn't wait to get rid of him and used the first slight opportunity.

Maybe he's really an arse to work with and the players are fed up or something.

Let's hope Potter fails to step up.

Doubt Potter will come but you never know.

Tuchel has a lot of personal problems with the divorce I think. That probably contributed a lot to poor results and sacking.

Wow. Figured he'd be on the hot seat after recent results. More like an ejection seat as it didn't even get a chance to get warm. Wonder if some players have a shiv?

Bizarre transfer window. Gotta wonder which ones were his vs Boehly's.

Too bad. Was looking forward to more contretemps between him & Conte & possibly Marsch.

From the sound of things he has a £16m release clause and if Chelsea are willing to pay it then it's easy for them to do. A lot of money for a manager but seems like he's first choice so will be down to Potter.

Dig up stupid!
Not surprised, actually think I called it in one of the prediction threads

He's clearly a very good coach but also clearly a gobby bastard so once results fluctuate even a little they'll be people at the club out to get him

He very much wants to be top dog wherever he is but most top clubs now are nothing more than the playthings of billionaires who won't take attitude from the likes of him.

About 0.0% chance they fire the coach who brought them back into the top 4 and won them the championship league, 6 weeks into the new season after spending a gazillion pounds on players, who haven't even all started a single game yet
Agreed. Tuchel will be at Chelsea for a while longer, not even they are stupid enough to cut him adrift so soon into the season....

Wait, what!
Wow. I could not have been more wrong. Can't actually believe they've done it!

I hope Potter avoids that joke club like the plague. They will ruin him.
Agreed. Theres isnt a bigger shitshow than those scum.

Just an all around disgusting excuse for a club. Should probably wipe off their achievements under romans dirty russian money.

Hope they crash and burn some more.

In short, the players are the ones who have sacked him.
If I were a Chelsea fan, I swear I would want someone to do a Rangnick-like job as an interim to make the required squad assessment and swing the axe. But, of course, Chelsea gonna Chelsea as always with those players.

That actually sounds very frightening if I were a Chelsea fan. Non-football people with a distinct vision for a football club ... sounds vaguely familiar.

I think the new owners were always waiting for an opportunity to appoint someone who was their man, their appointment. Tuchel wasn't that.
I think Potter is the clear and obvious choice if they can pry him away from Brighton.

So you would like somebody with a Rangnick style job that Rangnick didn’t actually do?

As a United fan I would love Chelsea to hire a Rangnick quality manager to be honest.

Doesn't matter with the release clause does it?

Chelsea are too well-run to throw away the season with a Rangnick.
