Wasn't there on a while back where one of their multimilion pound sponsors had a HQ in a house in Watford?

100% a fake shell company that sponsors them, glorified laundering into the club.

Companies registered in Indonesia and Asian countries in general are perfect for it.

Sheringham an ambassador based in a hotel room making a VLOG, I've seen less obvious crypto scams before, this is a blatant way to get around FFP.

Same looks fine to me, it also seems normal for asian facing bookmakers to be a bit shadowy.

https://tgpeurope.com/partners/

they're part of TGP's group of bookmakers which include reputable clients like Stake, Duelbits, Sportpesa etc
asian online gambling is an unregulated free for all.
They may be swimming in money I don’t know but it’s a long way from being sponsored by an insurance company for example.

The very fact it’s so difficult to work out if the sponsor is genuine or not speaks volumes in itself.

Such a dodgy little club.
Yeah this is what makes it always obvious right away, you don't even need investigative journalism just a bit of googling. Like what's the point of being a sponsor if not for promoting your brand or product. If people have to dive into the depths of the internet to find some obscure links to your "business" I guess you should work on PR elsewhere before sponsoring a football club.
People rightfully made fun of Woodward getting all these noodle or coffee sponsorships but at least you could easily find these brands.
City get these bizarre shell corporations with only an adresse in Singapur once every half year just to never be heard again from them.

There was someone on here asking me if I have any proof that Haaland isn't on more than the stated wage, and to disprove everything being above board in the deal.

I mean, really?

FFP is effectively dead so I don't know why they still bother with the fake sponsors anymore.
I think so too. Wouldn’t it be nice for them to not live that lie anymore? Just come out and say it, “yes, we’re fully owned and financed by the Abu Dhabi investment fund, and all our sponsorships come therefrom as well.” It would feel soo good

Nice try but the big suburbs in the Emirate are “Cities”:
Khalifa City & Bahia City.

Pep probably has his own on the way.
Not really cities though, I know you said suburbs but still they aren't too big at all.

I lived in the UAE for 5 years, I lived in a few "cities" like in Dubai you have places like Sports City, Production City, Media City, International City and so on.

They're tiny, you can drive across the majority of them within 2-3 minutes. I lived in Sports City and you can drive out of it within a few minutes, and then onto the E311 to go to elsewhere within Dubai.

The majority are "themed" but Sports City has a cricket stadium and that's about it. There's "Science Park" as an area which no science goes on there really.

I mean I can't imagine a Pep City at all, they're mostly named after things they want in the city like Internet City... has a few technology companies there like Microsoft, Oracle.

They feel a lot more like tiny neighbourhoods to cluster a few things together.

Think you’re missing my point somewhat?

I expect Pep owns a lots in the Emirate, like fecking blow your mind amounts of land, property, businesses and sports teams.

I know this institution. It's funded by a very important Nigerian prince. They sent me an email about it!
Have your already sent your bank and credit card info? I did it I will revive my money reward any time now.

City's success means nothing. Soulless club that is nothing but a vehicle for sports-washing.

Yeah it's common knowledge anyway, UEFA clearly aren't going to do shit about it so they should just drop the pretense that they aren't being financially propped up by Abu Dhabi.

Don't know why anyone would be surprised, they recorded the highest revenue in world football last year. No way that can be genuine, they've been cheating the system for years

A dynasty built on pillars of sand shell corporations.

City has to be the dullest and least inspiring team of brilliant players ever. And that's not even mentioning their filthy foundations. Don't get me wrong, I hate PSG. But at least they play their part as the cnuts that no one likes. That adds a little spice to the sport and it makes it all so much sweeter when they fail. With City you just feel empty inside when they win. Even United supporters feel no sense of agony when this happens, so you know things are shite.

Oh my God!
This is new information!!!
I would love it if City dropped the lies, but that might actually force UEFA and CAS to reevaluate the evidence.

As strange as it evidently seems for some, the worst thing for me about Abu Dhabi’s despots bigging Man City up (bad as it is).

Ok, the worst thing about it, is that it helps Abu Dhabi’s despots keep a slave system stranglehold on at least 95% of the people living there, and forces/helps them to continue silencing anyone saying anything consequential about that.

But the second worst thing, is that it opens the gate for a likeminded fascist to do the same with Man Utd, and it’s not impossible a lot of people would go along with it, based on the carte blanche Man City already has gotten. That would be really depressing.

The so called "City Group" is buying the Brazilian club EC Bahia. Is the first big club in their network.

First line in the sponsor's website: "8Xbet is the best sports betting sites in Vietnam"

As a Vietnamese, I must say there's a slight problem with that: gambling is illegal in Vietnam ...

Not sure why this made me laugh out loud, but I'm still giggling away even as I type. My missus was giving me the side eye, but without any context, explaining it would be futile

And this in a nutshell is why he will never be the greatest manager ever. Actually I wouldn't even have him in the top 5. Outside of the Barcelona days, everything else he has achieved has been achieved with minimal resistance. There's at least 10 managers coaching right now that would win as much if not more than Pep has if they were bankrolled by an entire country/ managed the dominant club in the glorified feudal system that is the Bundesliga and that's without considering the great managers of the past.
He took over a club that had just won a treble and all he did was win the one team league.
Roman and the Americans started the decay of football, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and the Saudis have totally killed it off.
The problem with the yanks is that they simply do not understand football. They are in it to make money like our pig owners. Atleast Roman and the Middle Eastern States are actually passionate about it. Not that any of them are saints.

Click on the link in the tweet, they mention the Sheringham link. He's either an idiot or knowingly part of the scam.
Definitely an idiot.

It’s very trustworthy. Josimar is an investigative football magazine known for high value journalism and in depth articles. They’ve provided revaling articles previously, ie about World Cup to Qatar, who’ve held true. This is a piece of very thorough investigative journalism.
Thanks. One would hope it would lead to some kind of action against City, but I am not holding my breath. There would be many people in football structures around the world who benefit from City's under the table deals.

Interesting that no City fan has yet chimed in in this thread.

Yeah this one stinks. How do they hide the extra payments to Dortmund and agents though.
Probably the same way as what we've heard reported from time to time over the years: agents and board members suddenly becoming the discreet owners of newly-built Abu Dhabi penthouses and things like that. Or they could just straight-up hand them some cash under the table. None of us have any way of finding that out, and the governing bodies have proven unwilling to look into these things. Every now and then, there's an article about how City pay more than they report by "compensating" the recipient in other ways. Since there have been no meaningful consequences, these reports don't amount to much and get little attention outside of rivals' football forums. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if the agent(s) involved in that transfer suddenly became the owners of properties the UAE, which they can then keep or sell at their discretion without anyone finding out. It's hardly going to create controversies over there when the country itself is in on the deal, so it's very easy to pull off without any media attention.
