On wildcard should I go TAA and Salah? Fixtures are bad, but so are Spurs, ours, Arsenal and City. Salah is a beast in big games too and KDB blanks.

I can always easily move him to Son as well if Son starts playing better
I ditched Salah and wouldn't touch him with a barge pole unless he starts to haul consistently . I was putting it down to Nunes forcing him wider but he was no better when the donkey was suspended. At the moment, he's a big risk at the price.

Yeah, food for thought. The fact that he's got 32 points without playing well has piqued my interest. Soon as I see some signs we're good again I'm going to add him or Salah to my team. Possibly both.
I would only want one. As I will be getting Kane, Salah will have to miss out

Bus team for GW9...

Raya
Cancelo TAA Trippier James
Bailey Salah (c) Martinelli
Toney Haaland (vc) Jesus

Subs : Ward, Gordon, Andreas, Saliba

£0.8m in the bank. Will probably roll the transfer if nobody gets injured. Don't especially fancy Mitro against Newcastle. Probably bring him and Zaha in for GW10 instead.

Thoughts on not having Maddison? Looks pretty popular.

Haven't got a route to him with a single transfer unless I take out Salah and I quite like having him as a bit of a differential at the moment.

Also it seems like they might have to bin Brentan soon (maybe during this international break) and then it would be a case of seeing how they set up with a new manager.

You know what you're getting with Mitro and Zaha. Both on pens too.

I have them too but don't forget these are class a FPL trolls. Just look at what Mitro did. His ownership ballooned for the Bournemouth game and he led all his new fans straight into trollville.

Yeah, going with Kane on WC meant no space for an 8m mid so I'm a little worried about not having Maddison but not gonna tear up my team over it.

is it time to sub Jesus, 3 hard games incoming then a blank, I've 5 City and Arsenal players so will need to sub at least 2 of them out over the next 3 game weeks before the blank week

What's your team looking like? Mine on WC is:

The Pope
Cancelo, James, Trippier
Madison, Zaha, Diaz, Martinelli
Kane, Haaland, Mitrovic

Subs: Iverssen, Andreas, Williams, Patterson

0.6 in the bank.

I could get Ward but Iverssen should replace him and even if he doesn't, I rather have no second keeper than one who is likely to get 0 or even minus points

I have De Bruyne in there for the next couple of home fixtures so a bit different. Also will wait for the GW10 to get in James and have Perisic as a placeholder.

Pope, Iverson
Trips, Cancelo, Perisic, Neco, Coufal
KDB, Zaha, Martinelli, Bailey, Andreas
Kane, Haaland, Mitrovic

Have a few options but will most probably roll this GW and then get in James, maybe Son for KDB as well.

Similar thinking to me. Certainly not sold on ASM and Foden though and tempted to go budget instead to secure one of Salah, KDB or latterly Son's services in one move.

I'd love to swap out Neco for Patterson. He's quality and their whole team seems to be comprised of defenders and defensive midfielders playing a deep line. They won't concede many.

Definitely true of Zaha for me anyway. Never had that problem with Mitro. Always seemed to own him at the right time (apart from this season so far).

I don't fancy taking him out before Spurs. Can see both teams scoring in that one. He'll probably get booked in that game as well and then it's an easy remove if he has 2 blanks in 3 games.

Well done he’s 13
My god I didn't realise until reading this thread how seriously people take FPL. It might explain why I never rank that highly in my leagues. I just play off instinct.

Yeah, I plan Jesus out to someone who plays, then use the bench to cover.

Another draft 11 is this…

Pope
James, Cancelo, Trippier, Patterson
Sterling, Diaz, Martinelli
Mitro, Haaland, Jesus

Which one looks better…?
Second one to me just because you don't have Ramsdale. If you're planning to have a full bench of blankers from Arsenal and City in GW12 then you want absolutely nailed starters really in your 11.

I think like most if I was wildcarding now I'd definitely have both Zaha and Maddison in my midfield. Mine would probably look something like this....

Sa / Iversen (surely Ward has to get dropped soon)
James Cancelo Trippier Dalot Patterson
Zaha Maddison Martinelli Salah Andreas
Haaland Mitro Toney

Quite flexible in formation (mainly playing 3-4-3) depending on fixtures and with good cover for a short term injury/one match suspension. I keep Salah as well because he's becoming a bit of a differential and you can easily switch between premium mids on the fly.

This is two players different to my draft (Dalot and Sa to Pope and Neco).

But I have another draft where Salah and Toney become Kane and Diaz...

Thoughts?

Anyone who uses the word draft should be quickly and swiftly smacked around a bit.

(Obviously outside of me mentioning the word above).

What’s wrong with using the word ‘draft’…!?

What else should you say? Version? Idea? Is there another word that you don’t advocate violence against at its users?
Draft evokes horrible images of those dreadful games where you pointlessly pick players in turn.
Plus is an americanism.

Ok, but it’s a different meaning than the Americanised sport ‘draft’ isn’t it?

This is ‘draft’ like sketch or blueprint - a preliminary writing (very British), rather than ‘draft’ like ‘I’m drafting in KDB’.
