Netherlands vs Belgium is now set to give a thrilling final. The winner will host the final 4, and get a good shot at winning the trophy next summer (both teams very desperate for some silverware, any silverware).
Nah h2h counts as the first tiebreaker.
First game ended in a 1-4 win for The Netherlands. So Belgium need to win by 4 goals (or 2-5, 3-6 etc) to top the group.

2 wins against Denmark, 4 points against France, great game today between 2 top teams. We're looking really, really good at the moment and surely we're world cup dark horses.

Gvardiol is gonna be some player, fantastic.

Oh and beautiful goal by Eriksen!

They genuinely fitting this in next summer? Considering the leagues are going into June and then the CL final is I think June 10th it's again simply no consideration for the players.

Play it in September or October next season and give players a proper month off for once.
They're playing it in the regular June international break. The final 4 teams will be placed in groups of 5 teams in the Euro qualifiers leaving two matchdays open in June for the NL finals.

Pretty sure they could just play it in the March break? Finals then plus everyone else plays 3 qualifiers for euro 2024 and then 2-3-2 in the international breaks for season 23-24.

Leave June untouched bar wrapping up domestic seasons + CL final.

Do teams have to select 3 GKs in that 23 man squad? Strange to see Toney not included in that squad.

Gotta say that's a fantastic looking side. Well balanced too. One of foden, saka, sterling at #10 is the only question mark. All three are wide forwards.

Southgate blatantly picking Maguire to improve the perception of him given all the stick he's had. He'll regret that decision, Tomori should start ahead of him now and in the WC. Keen to see what Bellingham and Rice can do.

Mehdi Taremi has really impressed me, wonder why he's never linked to bigger leagues

Not expecting a whole lot from Bosnia today. Most of the players (all the non idiots) are incredibly pissed off with the Bosnian FA, full of criminals and puppets for Dodik, the serb president in the country, because they scheduled a friendly with Russia. Most of the country doesn't want anything to do with it, all the main players have already spoken out against it and said they won't partake in the friendly, but the Bosnian FA is corrupt and being used as a politcal stunt by the cnut that is Dodik to push his serb and anti Bosniak agenda.

Anyway. We'll see how the game goes. Usually when there is shit like that going on behind the scenes, it tends to show with the players.

As a side note, team wise we have some decent players coming through. Ahmedhodzic looks absolutely fantastic (injured today), we finally have a promising right back coming through with Dedic who is at Salzburg and highly rated there, Pjanić and Džeko can still do their thing at international level... Will definitely need someone to replace them soon though which will be hard to find that level again.

It looks very unbalanced to me with several players out of position

It's the players he has, they're very talented. If they had a proper manager and not a tinpot one they could easily win something.
Being 40 years old... I've thought that on more than one occasion before. Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard etc etc

Surely if you're going to play this system with Saka as a wing back you at least need a left-footed centre back? Exposing Maguire out there just feels like it's asking for trouble.

Is it really that big of a deal?

At the same time traditional heavyweights like Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Netherlands are not the threat what they used to.
