If anything is going to happen with this, surely it needs to happen in the next 10 months or so right
Takeovers can take a long time, it's ultimately down to the selling party and how quickly they want out and the buying party to prove they have the money. Chelsea's was super fast and there's no reason United's wouldn't be.

The Glazer's don't have to accept any offers below their asking price though, that could make the process lengthy.

Sounds like he's telling them to hurry up if they want to sell. Him saying they are gentlemen, seems like PR work to show he's on the America's side in the mass media.

I think the Glazers will sell when they don't have the funds to maintain the club squad or the stadium. So that means until we as a club are broke the Glazers will be staying.

On the other hand, Niece sounds like an interesting place to visit!. California weather is appealing for many people and myself included - very appealing for me just having done my honeymoon in The Azores and Lisbon.

I don't understand what you mean. The Glazers haven't put a penny of their own money into the club/squad/stadium since taking over. The club generates plenty of cash on its own to maintain the squad and stadium, and will in all likelihood continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

They've never put any money in so improving the squad and stadium will have to come from club revenue. Unfortunately there's no reason for them to sell they can just keep taking dividends out every year whilst doing nothing to earn it

This is what i found on Reddit about his ownership of French club and it does not make a good reading.

This is what a French flair on r/soccer said last time the Ratcliffe news popped up.

You should look at what they are doing with the football club they currently own. Their methods may work in lesser sports, but they have zero knowledge about football and they lack the humility to realize it.

Brailsford has apparently taken a liking to being a sporting director, but he's completely out of his depth and it shows in Nice.

And another comment

Every interview with sports directors who've left the team is the same retelling of how Brailsford (the baldy) hires smart people with huge wads of money, those people make smart decisions, then Dave gets into one of his nervous panics, decides he knows better demands they do everything differently and things fall apart

But at least in football there's no doping questions to literally run away from, like he did with that journalist in 2015

This is a comment about another club he/INEOS owns.

He (or rather his company INEOS) also own Swiss side Lausanne Sport and they're absolutely shit now. They've basically been (ab)used as a loan farm for OGC Nice players. They had absolutely no strategic vision for the club. They've transformed more and more into a plastic club without any true identity. Last season they got relegated despite some fairly hefty investments made by INEOS over the years. It's quite surprising given that other clubs manage to stay in the Swiss top flight despite far lower budgets

Only a massive idiot would spend billions on a football club that is still trying to get back to top 4 when global recession is about to come.
That's why the tune has changed.

Not for a club like Manchester united. We are worth the billions. I think glazers really don't want to sell.

beg to differ. All assets will be on sale only for folks with deep pockets. Squeeze might change the equation for Glazers. They I believe also bought some T20 team.
havent given up the hope yet.

The question is, why did SJR look to buy United in the summer? What was he told?

Surely, he didn't ho off the rumours on Twitter/social media, to think thw club was for sale?

I think fans wanted something more positive. Something like 'we're still negotiating'. Was interesting that he mentioned us not being competitive since Fergie and that sadly City have taken over us, as have Bayern. Surely a dig at the nice Glazers.

These idiots are about to sell x years future TV revenue to fund the clubs problems. This is as bad as debt as any income will be paid straight out. Why will they not sell ffs.

I.e. if the club is broke and without money, that's when the weird ginger tossers will be selling.

"I met Joel and Avram, and they are the nicest people. They are gentlemen. And they don’t want to sell. And it’s owned by the six children of the father, and they don’t want to sell."
Okay, this paragraph alone should really get the demonstrations going again. What a fecking incredible bunch of audacious cnuts the Glazers are. Their PR of buying Casemiro+Antony and getting lucky with results seemed to work.

Almost wish we'd have struggled more and ETH won less, so they'd have been more open to selling the club.

I have a feeling he's doing an Elon.

He doesnt have the cash to buy United, so unless he comes with proper firepower (bank) then he's attacking a castle with a toothpick
That's not a smart narrative to start I think, as he's the one we're holding out for and the ideal owner we want.

We've only heard that Glazers didn't want to sell, not that he didn't have the money. Hard to conclude that.

Radcliffe personally and/ or his company INEOS can definitely afford United, it would also not be a leveraged deal. He made a formal bid for Chelsea but missed the deadline. He has been looking to buy a top Premier league club for years, but United always his deam deal. Dont be an idiot.

Who says he did?

A lot of United fans got very excited based on very little unfortunately

All he's ever said was that IF United were for sale, he would be interested

No he was definitely interested and went to mee the Glazers. Not trying to be an ITK idiot but he also confirmed this at a conference yesterday. Has been looking to buy a top Premier league for several years, but his is a genuine Utd fan so that was his preference. He has now moved on.

That is the sole reason they will continue to remain in charge unless something changes internally. The Glazer out protest are reactionary at best. There's only ever momentum in these campaigns when the feeling around the club is negative.

If fans were serious about getting rid of the owners there's many actions that could have made the organisation of Manchester United an undesirable business venture but it takes consistency and that's what the protests lack.

There's been a protest at every home game this season and there is another organised for Sunday.

If you don't think the protests had militancy, coherence and consistency then I assume you were not a Utd fan in 2005.

What's the summation of these actions because the results aren't definitive ? Einsteins theory of doing the same thing anticipating a different outcome is true to these supposed protests. The answer is clearly to be more radicalised and that doesn't mean to incite violence but to do things that discredits the clubs success as a business. As stated there are multiple areas this can be facilitated.

The only real way to get them out would be empty stadiums and getting games cancelled. I dont think the match going fan base is sufficiently motivated to make this happen.

Why? You gotta try something. I don't think anyone looked premature here. People trying to change things and look for the best owner possible are not fools.

Far to simplistic, this has been debated on here over and over. There's multiple reasons why boycotts are a red herring at this stage.

Exactly, season ticket fans protesting at games is a counterintuitive logic. It's still producing revenue for the club. The only reason the Glazers purchased United is because of it being a business. You have to nullify the business to get stakeholders attention.

"Glazer dont want to sell"
Well no shit sherlock, this has been known for years and years now.

Never believed this guy was serious, just a pretender like everybody else thats come out and said they want to buy the club over the years.
Also, going to the press and say "I want to buy Manchester United" just seems like a rich guy who likes to hear himself talk and see the headlines in the papers.

If you want to buy the club, contact the owners of it and make them an offer too good to turn down.
If you dont want to do that then keep quiet and stop stringing fans along.

Why would they give up on a few millions a year without doing anything at all

well you'd presume to get a sackload of money which could pay off any debts they have elsewhere and still have a room full of cash like Scrooge McDuck!

Yeah but another mistake people make is thinking billionaires think about money in same way a factory worker thinks about a lottery win.

The assumption is 'who wouldn't want shit loads of money, lots of holidays and the life of luxury?' - but that's already the life they lead.
