Remember when Haaland and Lewandowski were only scoring for fun because the Bundesliga was so weak? They’re scoring for fun in the PL/La Liga and CL so far.
I think this „Bundesliga players are trash“ comes from United’s track record when doing so.

The least interesting league in Europe for me. Bayern have already scored 33 goals so far this season.

I don’t understand how Bayern fans aren’t bored themselves? When Utd were winning league titles, I enjoyed it but only when we had good competition.

Plus, English football is cyclical. Arsenal, Forest, Villa, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Utd all dominated for a while or won league titles over the years.

Hasn’t Bayern always dominated German football? Genuine question because I’m not that sure - I’m in my 40s now and have always known Bayern winning the league apart from a short spell of Dortmund winning it.

Completely uninteresting league. Every side plays the same, which suits Bayern as there aren’t many shit house teams like we get in England or Italy.

Bundesliga is crying out for another club to push FC Bayern. Everyone knows Dortmund are is just a club which always sells their best players to Bayern.

It’s a shame because I love Germany as a country and their fans are always brilliant.

Weren't they on about having a play off system or trying to make the league fairer? I heard even Bayern were in favour of such measures

Exactly, it's a pure farmer league other there. I mean 33 goals this season is only 4 less than Man City.
The Premier League isn’t a farmer’s league though. We’ve had very close title challenges over recent years.

Bayern win the league every single year, and have done for decades bar the odd season.

@horsechoker

I’m not sure, didn’t hear about that?

I also wonder why the German FA doesn’t increase the number of teams from 18 to 20?

Yeah, the last decade of Bundesliga wasn't anything to write home about.

No, not always but they are considered the strongest team since around the 70s. Before that, there were other teams and even after that time, there were at least a few teams giving them a run for their money up until 2012 or so.

Everyone knows Dortmund are is just a club which always sells their best players to Bayern.
That's wrong though. Dortmund hasn't sold a player to Bayern since Hummels. That's probably almost a decade by now.

Your right that it's closer in terms of challenging but City have won the last 4 out 5 titles. Granted Germany is at the most extreme end(Oddly enough before 2012, it was a pretty competitive league)compared to the PL(Although this comes at a cost because PL fans have not control over how their clubs are run)but the difference between the leagues is getting smaller and smaller.

Tbh the best league this season is Serie A. Napoli are currently the best team in Europe and the league is very close.

I agree about Serie A. It’s my favourite league to watch these days.

I actually think the Premier League is overrated by the way. I just wouldn’t even bother watching a Bundesliga match these days and haven’t done so for many years.

While i don't disagree with regards to the Bundesliga looking at the past ten years, in my opinion it is a bit weird to call any league a farmer's league while the serial winners aren't even in 1st after almost one third (PL) or even more than one third of the season (BL) played. By tomorrow evening Arsenal and Union will most likely have overtaken City and Bayern again, the farmer's league discussion should be reserved for when the challenging teams inevitably drop off again (hopefully soon in Union's case).

Yeah agree with you. Bundesliga games are sometimes on youtube but yeah I never go out of my way to watch one(The weirdest thing is I'm not even sure Bayern are that hatred by other german fans).

I don’t understand this either. They all seem to rally around one another.

I did say in another thread the most competitive game and rivalry in the league would be Bayern v Bayern II…

Strange bump when they are not even top of their league.
Besides that you simply repeated what has been said 473 times in this thread.

People that do not even watch matches talk about another league...

I actually look matches because of the matches and not because of the league title. Strange if somebody has another reason for that if it is not short before the end of the season.

Bayern is easily the most hated club in Germany (Leipzig aside maybe) altogether but also the one with the biggest followership. There are lots of people who cheer at every point they drop, some even in the UCL - which is very uncommon. Usually German fans support German clubs in international competitions.

And also on the back of a pretty successful international week for the BuLi clubs, both in CL and EL.
Guys, I think the post that claimed the author hadn't watched a game in years, but every team play them same was the perfect example of the intellectual quality of this thread. It's just a dumpster for low iq shitposts. Best not look for logic or facts.

I guess people don't really dislke City that much(Although tbh I think thats down to everyone knowing they are a fake club). We haven't won a league in 10 years and are still the most hatred team in the country due to our past success. I mean I Often see German fans on here defend Bayern.
Shhh. The BDL have been mobilised. To the Chelsea thread!

Nah, mate. Just wanted to see what bumped this thread since German teams had a rather good showing in CL and EL this week. But it was the usual repetitive nonsense.

They should probably take a CL spot and give to Barcelona

*Bump for relevance*
Leipzig is 1 point away from making it 4 out of 5 german teams to reach the knockouts + Leverkusen still managed to stay on channel 5 thursday night while being sh*t.

It used to be quite common for 4 German teams to reach the knock out phase back when Schalke were good and would regularly beat Arsenal.

happened in 2014, in 2015 and probably a few more times.

the main argument against German football is that Bayern always wins and therefore the rest sucks, but honestly it is a weak argument. Bayern is the most consistent club in Europe. Their Champions league record shows it. I’m the groups regularly winning 6/6. No other team in Europe are that consistent.

Yeah, Madrid are, they're consistently winning the UCL.

I think it was fair criticism that almost no German team did perform well in Europe except Bayern, so it's not only because Bayern are consistent.

Usually Bayern went far, Dortmund did kind of ok in the CL, other CL teams at best went out in R16, and the EL teams embarassed themselves year after year.

But in recent years Frankfurt and Leipzig evolved into teams that repeatedly go far in their competitions and Freiburg also for the first time aren't an embarassment in europe but actually putting out mature performances, Union are at least improved over last season, only Leverkusen is still shit and Köln is struggling in the ECL as well.

Overall I think it looks much better than it did in recent seasons and maybe it's not a coincidence that Bayern doesn't lead the league as well.

They are winning the CL, but they aren't always dominating their groups like Bayern do. Real is more of a cup team, Bayern more like a league team (comparable to City I think).

City aren't leading the premier league table right now either, but laws of probability are both will be, come the end of the season, when it really matters. I feel City will eventually win the premier league with ease, don't follow german football but hope theirs is more competitive.

My bump was fine. I had never posted in here before raising this thread from the depths of the football forum.

I asked a serious question, which was fair comment. “Do Bayern fans get bored having no competition?”

Again, look at the last 20-30 years of Bundesliga winners. Now compare that to other leagues in Europe (again, I’m being serious here not attacking the league).

With all that being said, I would rather watch the cricket than the Bundesliga. And I hate cricket.

I generally agree with the league being shit and an absolute one horse race. It's not even a race to be fair. Everyone knows 2. Bundesliga is what the cool kids watch.

But all that aside, the title race being a foregone conclusion and frankly boring as hell doesn't mean the league is. The other places tend to be very competitive and serve up a lot of drama and entertainment from time to time. Feel this distinction is often ignored, the title race is total shit, the league in general not so much

They are, at least the ones I talk to. When they won their 8th consecutive title a couple of years ago, there was literally no reaction from them. Same for the 9th and 10th title. Their season really just hinges on how well they do in the CL these days. Winning is only fun if there is actual competition for the prize.

That’s how I feel. I get extremely excited about the champions league. But the league title race is just boring.

just wondering Out of curiosity, why is Leipzig hated?
