Stupid thread. It's more likely that we'll never win the league with dross like Vdb, Ronaldo, Elanga, Maguire, Lindelof, McTominay etc. in the team

I think if nothing else today has shown that seeing as Ronaldo and Fernandes can NOT play together we should always pick Fernandes ahead of Ronaldo, he may blow hot and cold these days but at least with Fernandes there’s a good chance of a goal or assist whereas today we look toothless with VDB and Ronaldo.

We miss him terribly when he doesn’t play. Most of us knew that before today, in fairness.

I think today is showing that he is a needed player in this current team. Might need replacing, but right now, he's the best we have for his position.

He's got a lot of energy and never seems to get injured. Eriksen has never been and never will be this type of player, so we need it from our no.10. That's the problem

Without him we lose 3-1 to relegation fodder without a fight.

I think I'll stick by taking our chances with him you know...

There were so many on the caf waiting for the game without Bruno and wondering why he plays every game...

There was clear evidence yesterday to why we need Bruno, not just attacking but defensively also, his energy, pressing and leadership is required.

Surely our useless performance yesterday puts this thread to bed? Bruno certainly has areas of his game to improve, but he is one of our most influential players and will absolutely drive us to a title. Can’t wait to see him lift that trophy as our captain!

He completely changes the dynamic of how we play, because he brings a consistent energy and ability to press high that seemingly none of our other players are capable of doing. People accuse of him of being erratic and loose, which is true in part, but we were massively erratic yesterday anyway with our spam crossing of hopeful/hopeless balls into Ronaldo's vague vicinity. We need him.

Apparently a few weeks ago it was his fault for us spamming crosses to Ronaldo.

What we missed is his leadership. One thing he actually does is regardless of how well he is playing, we know he will created 1/2 chances each game. Thats what we lacked.

Bruno has become a scapegoat of sorts, he's definitely a victim of his early unsustainable success. We need to not start Ronaldo, basically, because Bruno also defaults to spamming balls into him. Regardless of what they do in training, or how we set the team up, Ronaldo is such an historical unprecedented goal getter that he inhibits any playstyle that doesn't revolve around getting the ball into him as quickly as possible, regardless of the angle.

On the second paragraph, wholeheartedly agree. He's got a relentless, unwavering desire and belief to get a goal and push onwards that is pretty unique. ten Hag massively dropped the ball by thinking de Beek was a logical replacement. It had to be Fred or McTominay just to make up for the intensity we lost through not having Bruno. de Beek is the antithesis of Bruno in basically every way.

Yep, its weird to see how the fans have turned on him, its also to do with the twitter lords posting videos of his misplaced passes.

We clearly lacked that fighting spirit in the game yesterday. Ten Hag dropped the ball, I agree but alot of fans actually called for this, I had a look on twitter and all I saw was people saying how great it is to see Donny in that role.

I have seen so many people call for Bruno to be dropped for Donny in the 10. I do not think Donny possess any qualities that work for our team, he is a player that you use when you are up and want to keep possession of the ball because he is only really good at passing it back from where the ball comes from.

Maybe not any team soon enough at the rate of his decline.

Nothing that happened yesterday has anything to do with this thread.

Basically showing why this thread is completely spot on.

Weak footballer who will never be good enough for more than a fight for the top 4.

Eriksen and Malacia are more to blame there. It was a shite ball, and Malacia didn't make himself available when Bruno was clearly in a difficult position

He assisted our goal today and has been involved in our best play. Not his fault he’s stuck out on the right, it’s not his position.

compete with him?
More reasonable, yeah. Regardless of peoples' frustrations there is absolutely no chance that Maddison is a clear upgrade. But as competition al a Malacia to Shaw, he would be good.

Of course we could never afford the cost of it.

We need to be moving away from these specialised 10s. Good teams generally don't play them for a reason. You sacrifice too much in the build up
maddison is actually very versatile though, can play pretty much anywhere across the front.

Bro, what is this Bruno???? does he even understand the basic of football?
I highly doubt that!
seriously when I look into players of my team comparing to new castle players and how much they are getting paid, it is disappointing

Just too risk-prone. Away from home against a good press, he's a liability. Especially on the right

He's trash.

He's actually one of my personal litmus tests or one of the "how well do you know football? "

He's absolutely trash. Incredibly disruptive and often a liability.

Like a poster above said: absolutely braindead. There's a reason clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona don't buy these kind of players. Need to replace him.
