Players whose stints at United are totally forgotten....

I think he scored 4 goals for Angola in a game before he joined us or something, hence the slightly tongue in cheek hype.

Nick Powell mainly for his completely random appearance under LvG in the CL when we needed a goal desperately.

I also completely forget Fellaini played for us despite being actually a regular and key player at times.
Nearly. Manucho played for Angola, Diouf played for Senegal, but we signed him after he scored 4 goals for Molde. He was decent tbf and had a solid enough career after at Hannover and Stoke.

Jonathan Spector, played a few times.

David Healy, but I don't think he made an appearance.

Danny Higginbotham would be forgotten but for his punditry career.

Edit: Not quick enough on the draw

I hardly remember Lukaku playing for us, and that was literally something like last month or so.

Jesper Blomqvist
played a fair bit in his first season, including some very big games like the CL final, then seemingly injured for the rest of his time, in fact I have no idea if he ever played for us or was even in the squad in subsequent seasons, he seemed to disappear. Now plays for United legends teams. Hands in his sleeves.

With all due respect, if you've forgotten some of these players then you are not a supporter.

Alan Smith. The most non-scoring of strikers (yeah he had a terrible injury but he wasn't exactly Batistuta before that). Somehow played 93 times for us, scoring 12. Only 2 of those came after his first season (he mostly played DM after that to be fair).

Nearly had to google Victor Valdez to check whether he played for you. And whether his name ends with an s or z.

Edit: feck it's s.

Ronny Johnson for me. Was he good? Partner to Stam in treble season. Injury prone I believe.

As the title suggests...players who it's easy to forget played for United and/or who are not often talked about...I have a few in-mind but I'll start with...

Mark Bosnich
You. Your stint with United was so insignificant, it’s been erased from your memories. You live in the twilight zone.

Made his only PL appearance December 2000 coming on as a sub against Ipswich at Old Trafford.
I remember he hit the post with a good header.
Got fans all excited wanting to see more of him but was no way near the level of Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and Solskjaer.

Teddy Sheringham… a bit of an anticlimactic signing to replace King Eric. I feel like his 3 seasons at the club are largely forgotten even thou he scored the equaliser Vs Munich, and first Vs Newcastle in the FA cup final that year.

yeah. I mean he hardly done anything memorable.

He also went on to win PFA players player of the year and Football Writers Player of the year in 2000/2001. Arguably his best season with us.

Exactly.. even that is forgotten by most, including me. Although I might be mistaken, but was it a gesture award given more to acknowledge his legacy as opposed to him being the best that season?

He was excellent. Played a few games as a dm, against Porto i think amongst others. Very good on the ball, a clever player. More Ferdinand than Vidic.
Injuries started kicking in towards the end of the 99 season and never really put a string of starts together again.

Maybe its still too recent, but in years to come people will question how Odion Ighalo played for Man United!
