Who can we realistically get in Jan that will make us better for next 5 years or so and gives us min 20 plus goals and fit perfectly into Ten Hag system

Tier 1:
Ronaldo at Chelsea is no longer a viable option for January, according to sources. The player would love to return to Madrid, it is a fact, also for personal reasons, but it could remain a wish. Bayern and PSG (ruled out)

Summary:

Reminder: Garnacho's contract expires in 2024, but United have an option to extend his contract by 1 year.

This feels like déjà vu, weren't all the same clubs basically ruling themselves out of the race to sign Ronaldo in the summer?

Being that little bit older, a lot worse of a footballer and an even bigger cnut now, what did he and Mendes think was going to happen?

He'll stay here if Joel doesn't pay him off (another cnut who's all about the dollar) and sign for Sporting in the summer for £75k a week.

Do you think Joel Glazer will care about that from America?

If Ronaldo really wants to go he'll have to forgoe his money, rightly so in this case, but you know what happens when two money hungry leaches dispute over money? Chaos.

Yeah if this doesn't get sorted in January window then worry it will scupper our season

Somehow these two separate incidents/takeaways resonated with me.

If this is true, my guess is it means Ten Hag has chosen one of the French (or French based players) in David, Thuram, Gouiri or Moffi. I don't really see a ton of non-complicated January transfers outside of this group as the Prem ones would cost an insane amount like the absurd Chris Wood 30M transfer or just won't happen in January from La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A.

That is my biggest concern too, as a supporter I'd rather he left no matter what, but like I say, you've got two cnuts at loggerheads, it's not going to end well.

Hopefully after this the question of what's the bigger amount, Instagram followers or pounds in the bank will be easier for him to know.

United could dedicate a few million a year ensuring the prick gets rinsed of all his cash (luckily for him bad press isn't great for sporting establishments).

You don't generally want to mess with billionaires though, they can become quite the vindictive bunch.

I can't help feeling that ETH had a big smirk on his face when he heard of Ronaldos interview. He got rid of both Ronaldos presence and wages. It happened with almost 6 weeks left until the transfer window started and it happened at a time when United don't need Ronaldo - partly because of the world cup and because the 5 matches before the City-game in mid-january are all on paper doable. So I think this will have felt like christmas coming a month+ early for ETH.

And with £500.000 a week and Ronaldo out of the equation - he can go to board and say "I need a striker. I was prepared to go with Ronaldo until the summer, now I dont have a choice" - and they will have to go along with it - anything else is suicide.

Yes so much this. This was the best case scenario for Ten Hag given the circumstances.
I would also say for the team as a whole its great that this is not something they have to deal with when returning from the world cup.
