There is no way a 16-year-old Brazilian kid isn't dreaming of Barcelona or Real Madrid.
He clearly idolises Ramires, Oscar and that one or two seasons that Costa had, of course leaving Brazil to play for Spain

Think young talents are a big thing for clubs now. Or you get stuck in a situation like Mbappe is in where you have to run contracts down.

If there's undeniable talent like Haaland or Bellingham you have to buy the player IMO, even when Odegaard came on the market and Madrid bought him he was worth the punt.

Endrick has clear talent he plays like he's 23 or 24, and when he strikes the ball its so clean I think he's worth every penny at 50 million, the question is do you want to give him development time.

I would not be against United paying the buy out personally, but the issue is 1) united won't and 2) a kid at 16 will have burn out periods where he needs time in and out of the team.
The problem is United have so many urgent gaps in their team right now that they can't really risk punting that significant a portion of their transfer budget on a player who, notwithstanding his talent, is unlikely to contribute at a very high level for maybe three or four years.

If this guy is the talent that everyone is saying, then it would be quite negligent if we weren't trying to sign him- even for 60m. To balance it out, we could drop our €100m+ pursuit of Oshimen and sign someone like Toney for half that. I'd prefer to see Toney and Endrick signed rather than just Oshimen. And I'm a big Oshimen fan.

Don’t think we are in the part of our rebuild where we can compete with the other clubs to be honest.
But that is something that might be more appealing to him at his age right now. It can be easier for him to break through here, compared to other top clubs, especially the Spanish ones.

He probably turns 18 at the perfect time to move to somewhere like Madrid and be understudy to Benzema for a year before taking over if he continues to progress. Of Course if they somehow get the Nordic yeti or Mbappe to join them whole new ball game.

Still wouldnt class United as truly realistic option unless in the next 2 years we are competing if CL. If you’re a kid from Brazil where would you rather stay? Barca, Madrid, Paris, London or Manchester?

60M it's a lot of money, he could be Vinicius Jr or a Gabriel Barbosa.

Unless he's some proven talent like Neymar, paying so much for a teenager is a huge risk.

Right now we could use Gabriel Barbosa, never mind Vinicius. But yeah, the issue is we need an immediate impact and don't have AN Other that would regularly start while the kid gets going.

It's not about the financial risk but the time to reach adequate performance levels. Easily 18-24 months.

Except that Toney would cost us €100m

Looking as though a move to us is very much in the offing. Never seen him tbh. Could be all hype

Vini jr was over £40m when he joined Real Madrid at the age of 18, so it wouldn't be anything too insane.
Rodrygo to Real Madrid was €45M as well.

Both the Rodrygo and Vinicius deals were also agreed more than a year in advance and they moved after turning 18. Considering the inflation of the transfer market I'd say €45M in 2017-2018 money is at the very least equal or perhaps more compared to €60M five years later.

Very much doubt he’ll end up at Chelsea to be honest. He’ll have his pick of clubs.
Yeah it looks like this guy can go wherever he wants, but it also matters how each club is pitched to the player and his family.

It's being reported that Chelsea have pretty much promised to make him 'the face of the club' and slot him in the first team in a key role straight away at 18. I very much doubt he'd get the same treatment at Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG where he'd be just a promising youngster in a team already full of superstar attackers.

I too think he'll most likely end up at one of Spanish top2 because for a young South American boy it can be very difficult to refuse the opportunity when those two come calling but I also wouldn't completely dismiss our chances at this point. Even if he joined us and signed a 5-6 year deal he'd still only be 23-24 at the end of it and assuming his career development goes about as well as he's being hyped he'll still have his pick of clubs then if he wants to go somewhere else.

I just don’t see Chelsea as being the most appealing offer he’ll get.

If he does decide to come to England with his family I see no reason, other than the London factor, as to why he would want to go to Chelsea. I’m assuming other clubs like City, United and Liverpool would all be in the mix.

Anyway it’s a moot point as I think he’s destined for Spain. A much easier transition for both him and his family (Brazil to Spain), a league more suited to him to showcase his talents and plenty of history to follow in terms of both clubs and their Brazilian connections.

How can Chelsea be promising that while you're also supposedly confident of signing Nkunku who's basically an exact same type of player?!

So far none of those clubs have made any moves nor have they shown any interest in him though?

That brings me back to my previous point about the imporatance of 'pitching the club' to the player and his family which can end up being just as crucial in his choice than the club's sporting project in itself. Chelsea have been in contact with the player's entourage since the summer and have clearly shown they are very serious about him and the role he would be getting in our team but as far as English teams go the supposedly 'better' clubs have done the square root of feck all at this point. I'm not saying all that means we'll get him because I still think we won't, but at the very least it should increase our chances.

It's been suggested he'll sign a pre-agreement with his future club sometime in early 2023 so if City, United or the dippers want him they'll have to start doing something about it sooner rather than later.

Not that you know of. Just because things are shouted about doesn’t mean things haven’t been said behind the scenes. Chelsea just seem to be the most vocal about it.

It says a lot about his ambition if Chelsea is his preferred choice.

Sure it's possible there are plans in motion behind the scenes with other clubs as well but if that's the case at least none of the supposedly reliable journalists have heard anything about it.

That said I don't think it would stay secret for very long if there were indeed advanced talks being held with other English clubs too. After all it's in the player's best interest for his agents etc. to drum up as much interest and hype as possible to get the deal most beneficial to him. Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid interest is very well documented but others not so much, at least for now.

I don’t really think it makes much difference. He’ll go where he wants to go and he feels is best for him out of the other options available.

Chelsea won’t have a free run to him and I don’t see the club being all that appealing for him at the moment if I’m being totally honest.

As soon as Madrid and/or Barca are involved for a Brazilian youngster all the other clubs have no chance.

I'm just going by what's being reported by the media in Brazil at the moment.

I have never even seen Endrick play so I can't really comment on him or Palmeiras' setup but Nkunku is at his best playing together with another striker instead of being a lone center forward so I doubt they would rule each other out if we somehow managed to land both (which tbf I don't think will happen).

I think he will make the decision at the end of next season. He will look for an undisputed starting position and a lot of money.

Just let Chelsea sign him, bring him over, introduce him to English football, fail to offer him a serious pathway to their first team and then sign him for €40m from whichever German club he leaves them for in 3 or 4 years time.

2 or 3 years. Might take us a couple of years to get back into CL. Is he talking about us? Dare to dream
I think it’s very good news for United. He can only be talking about United.
Unfortunately it's more likely an allusion to the fact that he has to stay in Brazil for the next 2 years (can't move before 18) regardless of what club he signs for.

We can’t afford a high cost punt right now because that’s what he is. 60m for a 16 year old? We have to say no, we have money that we need to invest in other areas which need results now not in 4 years time

That has to feck with you as a 16 year old, having every top club in the world fighting over you. Imagine the pressure he’s under, not just now but living up to it.
