Really? Is this a wind up?!
Not really. Cos we had Cole and Yorke, then Ole took all the limelight as the 3rd striker and for 99. In his first season what I remember was that song Arsenal fans made for him.

I take your point but he literally scored the equaliser and assisted the winner in the clubs greatest ever moment. Surely he’s not a forgotten man?

I don’t think he gets mentioned as much for those moments as we’d think, and his overall 3 or so seasons at United isn’t really spoken about much.

It could be because he himself considers himself more a Tottenham guy and ironically despite winning nothing at Tottenham gets remembered more for his career with Spurs.

It's insane to me that Teddy Sheringham might be forgotten by some, but David May manages to do talk tours as a Legend.

The guy who equalised in one of the biggest games in the clubs history will always be remembered. That four man strike force is arguably our greatest ever.

I doubt Liverpool fans will forget Divock Origis champions league final goal in 15 years time. And you would say he contributed even less overall to Liverpool than what Teddy did for us.

In my op I mentioned the CL final goal and was focusing on his overall stint at United over 3-4 seasons.. which by and large doesn’t really get mentioned much.

Performances across those seasons were decent. He scored some important goals and created a fair few. He will never be held in the same regard as Cole and Yorke but he will always be infamously remembered atleast for his bad relationship with Cole.

Players like Jesper Blomqvist, Jordi Cruyff I would say be more likely to be forgotten about from that period because even though they were in the same treble winning squad, I don't recall outstanding performances from them throughout their time at the club.

I understand your point. I was thinking of Teddy more relative to what he achieved and did at United and not being mentioned much relative to that

Fair enough!

Another player to add to the list, the legend that is William Prunier. What a trial that was, him and GNev at the back versus Spurs..

A Cantona recommendation if I remember correctly. Probably explains why Eric went into acting & not management after retiring

This is a great shout. I bet the majority don’t even know he lined up for us, all be it in a friendly.
I was looking at the list of balon d’or winners one time and found that he was the first to win it. Even more surprised that he suited up for us!

P.S now that I think about it, surely the 3 best players to have ever worn our shirt are him, best and homelander, right?

Been mentioned. Was mostly a gesture award for past achievements if I remember correctly
He was the top scorer for the team who won the league by about 10 points. He was won the writers player of the year. So no, it wasn't a gesture award.

John sievebak, probably spelt wrong, but Denmark hammered rep of Ireland and him as a right back destroyed Ireland scoring a goal, thought he was brilliant than we signed him, im only judging him as a itd player

Adnan Januzaj. Remember him, the lad that Moyes pinned all his hopes on?
No, me neither.

Jesper Blomqvist
Jordi Cruyff
Quentin Fortune
Karel Poborsky

And my favourite is Robbie Savage who everytime he is on commentary goes on like he was big part of Utd :) he is s decent guy but makes me laugh, went on to a pretty decent career

For real? I think most remember and still reference that a lot

Remember getting home from school and seeing that we were loaning him and immediately signed him to play next to Rooney on my FM game.

Matteo Darmian was such an unremarkable player for us. Didn't really play a lot, and didn't do a whole lot when he played.
Had a great start though. Fans voted him player of the month in his first month!

Matteo Darmian’s impressive start to life with Manchester United has earned the Italian right-back his first accolade with the club – the Player of the Month award for August.

Thousands of fans voted in ManUtd.com’s global poll with 42 per cent selecting the summer signing – presumably appreciating both his attacking flair on the right flank and his robust contribution to United’s early cluster of clean sheets.

You are correct. Players like Muhren, Buchan are not forgotten by the fans who saw them.
I remember Muhren hitting a first time rocket outside the box against QPR and the commentator saying. " Hucker never had a hope".
