Whataboutism perhaps but some valid points made - doesn't look like propoganda to me
Just some obvious points:

The issue with beer isn't that it's forbidden, but that the position was "it's okay" for 12 or so years and then changed right before the start.

"Lots of foreigners living in the country so what can you do?" - seriously?

"Homosexuality was illegal in England 60 years ago, so it's okay to have the death penalty for it in 2022."

This guy is either a moron or deliberately obtuse.

Several other threads for these discussions and I've given my opinion in most of them so I can't be arsed to go off topic here

But while I don't agree with everything, I feel the video makes several valid points and good to hear some alternate opinions from the barrage of negativity on here

This is the general view I'm getting from those actually there, seems like a lot of it was blown out proportion by the media.

Booze isn't an issue either one you have found a good drinking spot.

This was always going to be the case - ridiculous negativity from media but I'm sure the majority of fans in Qatar will have a good trip

That's the problem isn't it? These things tend to be blown out of proportion. Forgetting that even bad places will tend to put up their best face when hosting visitors. Same for South Africa and Russia. On the whole, the fan experience will usually be a positive one.

Oh yeah I know it's all a front and I expect nothing to change in Qatar post tournament but the way the media have been reporting the "fan experience" isn't right.

I have a Wales tournament ticket, so all the wales games until they’re out, and then tickets for whoever knocks them out, and so on, until the final

I might see if I can pick up some other tickets while I’m here but not decided which yet.. but probably a good few as I’m here all month
What are you going to do there for a month? Will it not get rather boring after a week? I was a month in South Africa and Brazil but in both one could spend 3 months easily of course. If I didn't decide to boycott this, I would probably just do semis and final anyway and go to Oman before/after for a week. I did 7 games at both which I found pretty optimal. Obviously there is no travel at Qatar so I suppose 10 games might be fine. Usually it is piss easy to get tickets to any games, probably can find semi tickets for the second match you don't have a ticket yet for a discount.

I'm gonna work a bit whilst I'm here (remotely). I might visit Bahrain and I have a friend in Kuwait I wanna visit so thats another option.

Also I got an air stewardesses number on the flight over so that should hopefully kill a bit of time.. she's lived here for six years and seems to know all the best places to get alcohol, so that was a bit of a result really..

Why is it funny that somebody has a lion as a pet?
Though I agree, these owners usually have similar sized enclousures to your local zoo. And though I also dislike zoo's, we've all been to one.

Ok, sounds good. Enjoy!

So you only told her that you have a listed company and omitted crypto, wise.

Don't be stupid - where the hell would that many England fans be last week?!

Certainly not in Qatar that's for sure
Such a party pooper mentality man :(

I hope it's solid, cheeky stuff like this is essential in terms of fan culture :)

Constantly at the STD clinic.
I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt, some people are just ignorant (with no malice).
Hell, I'm from Lebanon and I still get asked online if we have deserts and camels where I live.
Yeah, just frustrating to see. I'm not talking about this forum but I've seen so many people go far as making fun of physical features of "Arab looking" people all under the guise of the world cup. How simple is it to understand the people (who are MOSTLY migrants!) are not responsible for this. The players -- a lot of them themselves are migrants!
