City seem like the only team that can afford the transfer fee. Bellingham to replace Silva?

He played ok today but based on today's match you would be quoted 90+ million for every player in an England shirt.

The media has earmarked him for the complete over the top praise this World Cup...so it's going to be hard to judge him rationally.

There are metrics that try.

Whoscored has his todays performance as a whopping 8.7, no starter came close to that.

He was all over the place, communicative, leading, just spectacular, no matter the opposition.

And have you guys seen him hugging noone as dearly as he did hug Rashford?

Sign and enjoy him for a decade!

Interested to see how he does against better opposition later in the tournament.

Being a fellow Birmingham fan it makes me proud of the boy.

Garnacho - Rashford - Sancho

Eriksen - Casimero - Bellingham

Sancho must look at him and wish he'd never left Germany!
Though not sure Sancho has played as well for England yet, as Bello did today.

Could have gone for Eriksen or Bruno and you opted for Fred?! And I say that as someone that has got a lot of time for the pastor

You were 2-0 so I made a sub

You are right, I did totally overlook Eriksen.

Modern day Bryan Robson. Currently looks like the player Gerrard threatened to be while playing for Benitez. He’s 19 years old and one of the best midfielders in Europe. And thus We have zero chance of getting him.

Much like I felt about Grealish, I’d really like him to go to a club that plays football that sees his talent maximised. Him going to City would be akin to Ashley Cole going to play for Jose. Will absolutely become one of the best in the world in his position, as Cole did. But, like Cole, he’d be restricted, moulded into a square peg for a square hole. Personally think that’d be a shame.

Liverpool will buy him. They have been looking at him for a while. Best case is Madrid get him.

United will not be able to get him. We are not guaranteed champions League every season.

Bellingham as an 8. He has energy for days. An all action midfielder, who has the ability to arrive in the box and get on the end of things as we saw today. Him as the 8, with Bruno/Eriksen as the 10 would be a good balance in my opinion.

Not sure they’ll pay the £150m
They will be able to pay that if the club is sold or a stake is sold. The new people will want to show intent and he will be at the club for the next 8 - 10 years. Liverpool will look at that as a great investment.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I'm not convinced yet. I'll reserve judgement until the tougher games to come. But what I will say is that I don't think he's the type of midfielder we need, or I believe we need. One that you can drop into that Fulham game and suddenly we dominate midfield and have more intelligence about our play.

It's a question of whether you want to spend £100m+ on a player to replace Bruno. And he's not even got the stats of Bruno at his best yet. He is wasteful in a similar fashion at times and he likes to moan at his teammates a lot too.

It depends what you think we need. I'd prefer more of a Scholes/Modric type to become the brains of the team, rather than another 'individual moments hero' like we largely consist of currently.

As the original thread said, wait until he plays against good side. FDJ looked pretty average to me for 80min if not for the assist, against a team of second string EPL MF (looks like Brentford to anyone?)

I need to see how he can control the midfield against big teams before having my judgement. My my instinct tells me he's not what we need.

I'd genuinely be happy with Bellingham and a Striker with a few outgoings and get a defender and GK another window

Missing out on him would just be dumb

I am a Birmingham fan, and I’ve been banging this boys drum for years! Madrid would be the best move for development, but there a few factors that make me think Jude will be staying at Dortmund for another year. One being his little bro can’t pin a place in our side down due to better young players atm, but is clearly talented, and his dad just retiring from the police after serving his full service. I expect little bro Jobe to Dortmund, and Jude to help him settle for 12 month.

My English preference for him would be United, but I think a lot of progress would need to be made in 6 months to head that queue. Just not Liverpool or City.

Were his performances against Manchester City not good enough then?

It's not about he is not good enough, it's about he is the type of midfielder we need or not. Btw I need to see more of him before making judgment.

I love he’s doing great but I do think the commentators went over board slightly, I don’t view him as 19 as he doesn’t deserve that I look at him as a professional footballer, I thought he was a bit sloppy in possession but very very good on the whole, as the tournament progresses I hope he tightens that up a bit.

Um... he is good yeah but I think you are getting caught up in the hype here saying some of that stuff. Let's not get carried away.

I said for a couple of years now that I’d like to see Bellingham alongside a pure defensive midfielder for us as the dream scenario and did say Rice as I thought he’d grow into a fine defensive midfielder plus I never thought for a second we’d get Casemiro but Bellingham and Casemiro with one of Fernandes or Eriksen as the 10 is the absolute dream midfield for me.
