Apparently there’s an issue with tickets through the FIFA app. Heard someone on Twitter say it and now BBC have just said it

Constantly at the STD clinic.
So you found a propaganda video that's deliberately obtuse on a lot of issues.
Propaganda to me implies some form of government involvement. This seems to be an independent video.

There are a lot of weak points in there. There is simply no going around the dark side of Qatar, but he does have a few good points. Mainly the migrant deaths which truly is the statistic of any migrant who has died while living in Qatar.

If people had actually gone as far as leaving their towns they wouldn't react this way! There's been a lot of racism this world cup under the banner of "morals". Random locals are being talked of as if they are the freaking Saudi Royal family or something. What the feck do they have to do with it?
Mistaking people who look similar isn't racism, unless you add extra stuff to it, like certain adjectives.

As someone who looks middle eastern when i don't shave for 2 months, i have been mistaken for cuban, armenian, arab, greek, turkish, etc when traveling to other countries such as USA,Japan,Australia,Korea,Canada, Brazil,etc...never got mad about it, cause i know that can happen, cause i myself have mistaken spanish and italian people, polish and russian people ,dutch and german people, cause they can look very similar.

It can be a bit annoying at some point, but not racist. A bit of ignorance?...yeah maybe, but that's it.

To begin with, you kinda need to have a similar looking background to look like another nationality, nobody is gonna mistake Jackie Chan for Snoop Dogg.

Such a party pooper mentality man :(

I hope it's solid, cheeky stuff like this is essential in terms of fan culture :)
The point is this video is more than a year old and nothing to do with Qatar

All the fake quotes, videos and disinformation on Twitter pisses me off - especially when people don't check it and then post it here

It's really incredible that you'd have literally 30-50% of stadium empty already at day 2, fantastic fixture of Senegal-Netherlands and still so many free seats. Proves how much bullshit there was in "this is the most accessible WC for African fans" - the proximity doesn't really help if there is no accommodation and pretty much everyone but very rich is outpriced anyway. Sad.

I didn't check, but flying from Dakar to basically anywhere in Europe is certainly shorter then from Dakar to Qatar?

Actually the more serious claim was that it was the most accessible for South Asian and Middle Eastern fans. Why would this be more accessible for Africans than South Africa? :houllier:

Sad to see WC games played in half-empty stadiums. The Dutch traditionally travel in large numbers - with that immediately identifiable sea of orange. There’s hardly any bugger there though.

A few seemed to mention that it would be super accessible as Africans (and other nationalities) can allegedly easily get visas for Qatar. But yes, I agree with your logic rather than theirs.

The visa thing is neither here nor there, because at this WC if you have a ticket, you have a visa. I was more talking about distance.

Thes kind of games always have empty seats to be fair.

Watched all the goals of the russian WC a few days ago and there where lot of matches with many empty seats. Same goes for South Africa 2010 and even Brazil 2014.

People just have such short memories it's shocking. I see this again and again. Despite football being the world's #1 sport and WORLD CUP/EURO being the most watched sporting events outside of Olympics. The crowds for each tournament group stages varies depending on locations. It's not just this world cup.

2010 Africa had huge attendance once knockout started but even the big teams had issues filling the arenas during Group Stages
2012 Ukraine Euros was the same way. I recall seeing some big teams with smaller attendance pretty vividly..

I forgot which World Cup group but I remember Uruguay with 50% attendance.... The countries are heavily invested of course but actual attendance at the international tournament group stages is always a roulette every edition. Knockouts always packed since that's when the countries fans travel in droves.

Actually if vast majority of group games are like England game, that's pretty strong showing

If they sold 93% of tickets (and they are), then where that tickets went?
Probably given away tickets to sponsors and locals who haven't turned up, it is sold out though as you have to go through a reseller now to get tickets.

The atmosphere at games have been terrible so far, just doesn't feel like a world cup. I thought the vuvuzelas were bad but this is worse

I have some cryptocurrencies to sell to anyone who thinks these games are "sold out".

I have no idea either, yet.
Several other threads for these discussions and I've given my opinion in most of them so I can't be arsed to go off topic here

But while I don't agree with everything, I feel the video makes several valid points and good to hear some alternate opinions from the barrage of negativity on here
Most of it is around human rights, that's a harsh take.

Did anybody notice during the England game. When one of the goals was scored they panned to an female English fan celebrating the goal, nothing outrageous. A steward politely told her to sit down.

She's lucky that she didn't try that in a European stadium, where she probably would have been throttled to within an inch of her life.

Don't forget "Football is so popular in Kerala they beat each other up about South American rivalries, Indians will fill all the seats", or something like that...
