It's an interesting situation to see where he ends up – it will certainly go a long way to clearing up the summer debacle if he can't find a top team to take him on, even as a free agent.

I'm not too bothered about it outside of that, happy for him to go anywhere.

I think after recent events they would be just as worried about everything but his salary if they signed him.

This isn't peak Ronaldo who was worth the baggage and ego. This is a man who is past it and can't accept it and makes it everyone elses problem when the world doesn't revolve around him. Juve were happy to let him go two years ago and he has fallen off a cliff since then.

needs to sign for team that has no inclination of playing any type of high press. He needs a team where he is regarded as the main man. I can't see any "big" team wanting him, his baggage isn't worth the hassle. He was still taking free kicks for us right up to the end. Maybe MLS, he'd certainly sell a few shirts for whatever team picked him up. After his previous issues there though, he might be wary of going back.

Maybe but it will sure leave a sour taste.
Not really unless you're a Ronaldo fanboy. I'd love it if he joined Arsenal and completely fecked up their PL campaign or Chelsea/Newcastle and completely plummet their top four chances, in fact we should all collectively pray that he joins a domestic rival, only way he'd benefit us on the pitch this season.

the only way he signs for a decent sized club is a rich owner going over the managers head and sign him for the publicity and commercial aspect they feel they would reap.

If he goes to Newcastle, it is a good thing to see. He will destroy the density, pressing pressure and the result when Newcastle ran that good in this season.  Maybe he will cost Newcastle the Top 4 too, then it will be too good !!

Hope it be another Premiere club.
I'd love it to see him feck another club up and increase United chance for top 4

I guess his options are:

1. Newcastle - for commercial reasons mostly, until summer of 2023 or 2024, then to Al Nassr FC
2. Al Nassr FC - immediately after World Cup
3. Chelsea - doesn't seem probable now like it maybe was 5 months ago until Tuchel vetoed
4. Sporting Lisbon - not sure that's realistic either

However, if Ronaldo raises his game and does well at the World Cup, perhaps few more European clubs would be interested in him, despite all the negative aspects (ego, wages etc).

Do we think he is likely to be in the starting XI against Ghana tomorrow?

Portugal have Silva, Fernandes, Felix, Leao and Ramos, all competing with Ronaldo for the attacking places. Ronaldo seems to upset the whole balance of the team, in some ways more so than when he plays for United. The manager is on a hiding to nothing, if Ronaldo does play and the system doesn't work, the manager will be blamed, and if he drops him (which logically is probably the right thing to do) and they lose he will be crucified for dropping the captain and talisman.

Presumably we have to hope he impresses enough for Newcastle or Chelsea to sign him?!

We don't "have to hope" for anything now that hes gone. I frankly hope none of them sign him and he needs to sit on the sideline for the rest of the season like the baby he is...

Lukas Podolski, World Cup winner with Germany, plays in Polish Ekstraklasa. Just saying like ;)
Playing for Zabrze, where he was born and always said that he would like to end his career there. A romantic decision which is something I assume Ronaldo is totally incapable of.

Neymar is overrated.
Think for country he is under rated personally. All the talk of Viniscus thsi world cup being the hero whislt Neymar has at times carried hat side offensively. He is the only atacking player they have had in a long time can be mentioned in the same breath as some of the past greats....isnt as good though.

I thinl his atitude, the dicing, arrogance and career decisions hasnt served him well but he is one of the most talented players in the world

Leg it to La Liga. MLS. Hereford, couldn't care less.

Had a post deleted here for a gif :houllier: - just to confirm, couldn't give a feck where he goes.

Glad the narcissist pricks gone.

If he's as CL driven as reports claimed, is it possible he'd betray Sporting and join Porto? They seem to play 4-4-2 but he could get in the team over Evanilson and play with Taremi, right?

Todd Boehly will pull rank on Graham Potter and he will end up at Chelsea.

Arteta would never in a million years. Pllus, if we signed him, he would be third in the pecking order behind Jesus and Nketiah.

Why would anyone want to sign him at this point ? Whoever does has to pretty much start him and play him all the time, you’ve seen the reaction when you don’t. Not just from him but the press, the internet. Just not worth it anymore. If he makes you play worse, your fecked. Drama central.

Sporting on a minimal contract, probably.

What's he's obviously hoping is to win the WC or get close to it.

He's given himself the time to put himself in the shop window during the tournament. Now available for free.

His interview was totally calculated for that...

His problem there is that if he plays, Portugals chances of doing well absolutely plummet. They have a cracking side without him. As others have said though, he will 100% start and play as many minutes as he decides.

More exciting is who we get in January now that wage has been freed up.
