How does the remainder of Ronaldo's career play out?

think AC Milan might take him where they pay 30% and he pay 70% to himself. They seem to take in really old players like Zlatan.
They were absolutely nowhere near a title challenge when they brought back something of a club legend in Zlatan, knowing he not only had some qualities on the pitch to offer but also as an incredible example and someone loved in the dressing room.
Not quite the same.

He just need to go somewhere like Messi at PsG, where he can waltz around and concentrate soley on coming alive on the ball, if he finds that he’ll do well.

I considered his career finished when he left Madrid. Twenty or thirty years down the line, the fact he played for Juve and United again will be one of those trivia questions that surprises a lot of people.
Despite that he’s in the Top 15 all time goal scorers for Juve despite being there for a blink of an eye.

It will be uneventful from a football perspective. If he goes to a smaller club, he will grab a fair number of goals, which will rapidly decline as the months go by. He’s more so a brand than a footballer at this point, which will take up most of his time going forward. His main football objective will be to finish with more career and CL goals than Messi.

Regardless to his me me me attitude and this self indulging interview he’s done

I think he’s been under valued through abit of agism

athletes are healthier and fitter than before and sustaining higher levels of fitness much later these days

He scored 18 Premier League Goals last season and 6 European goals at 37 years of age

Naturally Clubs do look at older players less positively, they have virtually no sell on value

But when your pumping out numbers like what CR7 did last season, he clearly still has a place on the pitch at the highest of levels

Clearly not at United, but I believe he certainly could be the difference between winning and losing trophies as some top level elite club

And I see this very much frustrates him, performance over looked and age clearly not

He's not done himself any favours for not focusing on football this season. This drop in standard is the as big as the one in his last full season at Juve.

I said yesterday in the Ronaldo sacked thread that I won't rule out the possibility of him retiring the moment his World Cup ends regardless of result. Deep down, I think he knows he's done. This could explain why he hinted at retirement in the interview with Morgan by saying that he'll retire on the spot if Portugal go all the way.

He doesn’t help himself with his insufferable arrogance.

But in a year where he has lost a Baby Son, I think losing some focus on football can be justified.

Tragedies happen in our lives, and sometimes we need to be given abit of a break, Wether your the warehouse guy in Amazon or a multiple million pound footballer.

I agree he doesn’t do himself any favours though, and I think the interview that wasn’t an interview (it was a one way transaction) was a joke.

I imagine he either goes to Sporting or a club in Saudi Arabia or China to cash in. He should be able to grab enough goals in either solution. He will then retire after next season.

He'll whore himself out to any side that can provide CL starts so he can scrounge another 4 or 5 goals.

He'll sign a 6 month contract somewhere in January and look for a new pimp in the summer.

He'll go down kicking and screaming, failing to recognise his diminishing ability. Then he'll retire and become an overly opinionated tool who has to comment on everything and everyone, especially United.

LA Galaxy or Inter Miami for me. Perfect place to cultivate his brand as well as trying to score as many goals as possible.

He will without a doubt. Messi has more or less strongly hinted this is his final season in Europe.

He's basically retiring IMO. fecking off outside of Europe is my guess
Yeah possibly. I care not really but In the interest of the thread I think he wants to continue champions league football. This is why I think he did the interview. It was calculated that he would be let go/ sacked and therefore can join a CL team sooner whoever it may be.

If he finds a top CL team that play shit on a stick Ole-ball, where he doesn't have to move, he'll score a decent amount. Problem is, no top teams play such football.

Regardless of WC, he should move to an easier league with CL football.

Best destination for him would be Bayern > PSG > Napoli > Sporting > Ajax > Saudi Arabia = MLS

Don't think Bayern, PSG or Napoli would be interest in him, so

Sporting > Ajax > Saudi Arabia = MLS

He'll continue flapping his arms for a few more years wherever he goes, cursing his terrible luck, his terrible team-mates, his terrible manager.

Exactly this. And yet people support him over supporting a team. People are weird.

I just dont know who will sign him at all, MLS seems to be the most likely. I know theres been a few Newcastle rumours banded about, he would be a hindrance to them I would say as they have a great team spirit about them this season.
Bayern = No chance
Dortmund = Couldnt afford him, but maybe if he took a pay cut.
PSG = No chance
Chelsea = Maybe
Arsenal = Aubamyeng part 2, no chance
Italian clubs = Not sure he would go back
Newcastle = Maybe
Madrid = Not sure they would want him, depends how long Benz is out for.
Barca = Cant afford a pot noodle

Literally no one left for him to sign for at the top level, didnt include City or Liverpool as they wont want him.
MLS, SA, Portuguese league or any club in Champions league with an outside chance of winning it.

More bad luck just now missing two easy chances v the worst team in the tournament, the universe must really hate him.
Watching this game as normal everyone knows his moverments and reacts in the crowd to over the top gestures but on the ball he isn’t that good.

He seems a pretty bang average striker in this competition. Comes with a huge circus show on the side.

The only way he plays and scores in the CL is that playing for a top top team and considering the various ties coming up in February, who would gamble starting him ?

He is done. He refuses to admit it. No club that cares about football success will want him. I am not sure if he can find a greedy owner of a Champions League club that will force a manager to sign him but whoever does it will regret it

Anyone catch what excuses Keane and Souness were making for him at half time? Just missed it.

Hopefully Chelsea. Few early goals, cue talk of him still having 'it', quickly ebbing away, irrelevant within 12 months.
I think Graham Potter would draw a line in the sand if Todd Boehly decides to go for Ronaldo. He is no longer able to play at the top level & Potter can't afford to have a passenger on the team.
I have no idea what the massive ego would feel about the MLS.

Hopefully somewhere far away so the media can stop posting pictures and creating nothing stories about him and his wife. With all due respect of course.

Feet up at home.
His slowness to recover today after sprinting 10 yards was very noticible - that's not a knock on him at his age it's just reality.

I thought that despite that he still looks very fast for his age. Just his touch and finishing letting him down.

After having a go at Rooney, it would be odd for Ronaldo to follow in his footsteps by ending up in the MLS.

He already has Havertz as a passenger, at least he is young and has potential going for him.

Ronaldo should go to a far away land and milk whatever he has left at the twilight of his career starring as Penaldo. Hopefully we won't have to hear Ally McCoist and co salivating over him diving for a penalty.

40s: Adidas endorsements, UNESCO Goodwill ambassador, found clothing brand, the face of Marina Bay Sands, expand global property portfolio.

Later 40s/50s: Ambassador to a future world cup, open a UNICEF charity foundation, whiskey brand, endorsements to Hublot and Emirates.

60s: Ambassador for Portugal, brands and international institutions. Sponsorship deals with Santander, Proctor & Gamble.

70s+:Viagra adverts.

It's going to depend on how he does at this world Cup, if he doesn't score again and Portugal go out early it'll confirm what people have said and he'll struggle for a top club, but probably something like Chelsea or some other side might offer a lifeline. If he scores 5 or 6 goals and Portugal reach the semi finals, you'll probably get a few clubs willing to take a punt, figuring that we were the problem.
