Anyone not planning a game week 2 wildcard?

Get the best lineup for week 2 - change anyone who doesn't start, and then late on switch all those who have played to get a good lineup week 3.

Yeah the game is broken. They definitely didn't mean this to be possible I don't think but it's happening so you have to take advantage of it.

So next question, essential players for week 2?
Wales play Iran, Senegal play Qatar, Japan play Costa Rica.

Bale seems a decent bet, maybe some Senegal defender(s) too?
Saka for England seems wise too. Giroud cheap and leading France...

Yeah pretty much nailed it there.

Queue my current lot - 3 England boys keeping a cleanie, KDB having a stormer, and my 3 Argie forwards monstering the points...
USA looked decent. Still think Maguire is worth it for goals. He is better for England and Shaw too.

Neymar is looking like a poor 12th man choice right now. Will probably regret wazzing that one away this early.
So certainly need to maximise this wildcard! Maguire looks a threat every set piece, unlucky to score as well.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

No Ramsey??

Tough in week 2 as seems to be more even match ups. Can‘t wait for Spain Germany.

Do we think the likes of Qatar, Costa Rica and Iran will be as pony? Or that Saudi will revert to the level we expected?

Imagine filling your boots with players just to play them then realise that wildcard thing doesn't work the other end of the week.

Yes yes yes (hopefully) no

Odds are high, app is shite.

The Brazil game has made me realise something… last games in a GW reduce chance to mark changes. Doh.

With the 2nd group stage round starting tomorrow, need to get the wildcard underway after this game. Or risk forgetting tomorrow!

Hang on, how does transferring a player out work if you're wildcarding? Surely it doesn't keep the points they've scored for that game week already??
The thinking seems to be that once they are locked, the transfer doesn't apply until the next game week.

So you do your wildcard the second game week 2 opens, make sure you have 11 starters, then do a full set more transfers after players have played to then in effect bank a fresh game week 3 wildcard!

Wow that's incredible. Who designed this game?

The post i quoted earlier seems to have been some fantasy footy poindexter checking it with the creators of the game too.

With the way my first game week has gone I reckon I could wildcard every week and still not threaten the top of my league

How does he say there’s a wildcard AND unlimited transfers? What’s he on about (not saying he’s wrong)

How? In everything he says. The wildcard lasts until the end of the game week.

Do your wildcard immediately in week 2 starting.
Change any unlocked players all week.
Change your whole lineup once the last game starts.
All transfers are effective for week 3.

It's very low risk as long as you don't put silly players in week 2 that you'd hate to have for week 3 - in the chance he and the game creator are wrong.

What even is this game

Subbed in Marquinhos and Richarlison, but didn't get their points counted. My teamsheet on the league page M1 somehow reverted back to the original unsubbed line-up, and all the subs I subbed in were null. With all the other the bugs in point scoring still present, that's it, I'm out.

Saw some people saying the Brazil points aren't updated yet, so you might be ok yet.

Trying to do that wildcard thing now and it feels like I need a degree in Fantasy Football to work out how to transfer players
Post your thinking on the team, I need the help :)

Mbappe, Richarlison and Kane is probably a good start
Bale in there, Spanish mid.

Thankfully my team doesn't need much tinkering but that WC thing sounded too good to be true. Currently I'm edging towards:

Martinez > Noppert
Maehle > Cash
Sane > Saka
Mitrovic > Richarlison
Skov Olsen > Bergwjin
Random Iran Defender > Sosa

Most of these simply have better fixtures. Which would then leave me with a starting XI of:

Noppert
Shaw - Hakimi - Cash - Pavard
Penandes - Bergwjin - Musiala - Saka
Kane - Mbappe

And a bench of Rochet - Richarlison - Casemiro - Sosa (mostly all final game players to allow me to rotate dependent on needs). 0.5m in the bank.

Cash and Bergwjin I'm not too happy about but I'm thinking they can be insurance just in case they get some points (Poland v KSA, Netherlands v Ecuador... not bad fixtures in theory).

Noppert is a risk but switching down from Emi Martinez gives me an extra 1.5m to play with

I considered a Spain midfielder but I didn't watch their game so I'm not sure who played well. Musiala looked a threat from the little I saw of the Germany v Japan match. Olmo maybe?

et tu, Brute?

It’s the bit about doing a wildcard but then changing everything once the last game starts.

What and the who and the what and the which now?

Was this fecking thing designed by the people who let Ronaldos dive be a pen?

How bad is Neymar's injury? Wondering whether to keep him now.

Can't imagine Crellin's question is true. That'd be utter farce.

I've got 8 of the other guy's starting lineup.
A great team on paper.

Probably want Bale in there v Iran? Edit..hadn't realised he's in as a forward!

Richarlison on the bench is risky as you'll only be able to switch a non player, not someone who has played and just got a poor score?

So if I WC at any point during GW2 the WC will be active for GW3 but I can chop and change players and get their points for GW2?
