Good. He can feck off to the scousers. He isn’t fit enough to tie Kamingvinga’s laces, and he can’t even get into the French team.
Another British media hyped up player like Sancho!
This... seems unnecessarily aggressive.

We should sign Kamingvinga in that case. Is he available?

I can't remember seeing anything about Bellingham having such fondness for Liverpool when we were chasing him in 2020...? Is this something new, all because he's been swayed in Qatar by Trent and Henderson?

We must've been very close in 2020, at least according to Bryan Robson:

“Unfortunately for us he decided to move to Germany. We thought we more or less had him. Myself, Sir Alex and Eric Cantona all met him with his mum and dad at Carrington and after that meeting we thought he was coming to us.”

As a Scotsman, I think I can post my unbiased thoughts on the French/ English game.
Let’s just take a second. England went out because Kane had a bubble fart moment and sky rocketed a pen, likely caused because his team mate was in goal. There was no French dominance, Camavinga didn’t start or come on as a sub, and Bellingham played well, an amazing save from his volley stopped him scoring.

I agree with you my mate.

I was more interested as to who Kama-salt-an-viniga was and thought we should make a bid?

It’s going to be interesting for us next summer. If the Glazers are gone and we do have very rich owners we will probably be more desirable than PSG and City. We already have the Barca/ Madrid style glamour through our history, a much bigger fan base. We have a good manager (not as glamour manager as playing for Pep/Klopp). We could potentially fight any team for any player and win those battles that matter like City did for Haaland.
Bellingham at his age would be a great investment. No brainer for me.

The fact that 3 people who have no active day to day role in the football club were given the job of convincing him was probably why he didn’t join.

Just a hunch.

The only issue would be if we have champions league football to offer. We might stand a chance for Bellingham if both us and Liverpool miss out, but again if Madrid are also interested, he might be tempted to go there.

Anyway I don't think we should be looking to splash on extravagant signings in the short term, even with wealthy owners. We should actually do a Newcastle and look to make shrewd signings after some careful scouting so we're slowly improving our squad and weaknesses. Naturally we ought to try and make an exception if generational talents like Mbappe become available.

Camavinga is 20 and will wind up with 100 French caps. He’s incredible. Suggesting he should be a starter in a side that’s made back to back World Cup finals is a bit mad.

Who should we have sent instead?

Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Fred?

I cannot see us not securing champions league football. Those stinking out the dressing room are gone. Liverpool have lost their mojo, Chelsea look rudderless, Spurs look like they could implode any second. Arsenal just lost their striker. The World Cup has been great for a lot of our players, Rashford, Maguire, Shaw, Varane, Hernandez, Fernandez, Casimeiro and Anthony all had great world cups and they’ll come back in form. My question would be can we actually secure second? Newcastle would be my worry.

I find it hard to believe Liverpool want to buy the massively priced Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez the same summer, but I suppose you never know!

He’s 16 years old from Birmingham. What did you think he really cared about Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson?

Might aswell have brought Jesse Lingard. Unless your bright spark is going to tell me Robson was his idol. Maybe Bryan was his middle name like Robert and Beckham.

What I was getting at was that he’d probably want information on the club from people who would actually be joining him and help progressing his journey. Probably what he got when he went to Dortmund but what do I know. Maybe Moller showed him around.

I wouldn't say its a given. Arsenal don't look like they're slowing down, Newcastle don't have the distraction of European football, City will always be near the top. I also expect Liverpool to turn it around especially given their lack of involvement in the WC, and Spurs still have an excellent manager in Conte. Chelsea are the only ones I feel certain we'd finish above.

I doubt the kid gives 2 shits who they sent - it was probably more a show for the parents.

They would definitely appreciate Fergie,Cantona and Robson. The simple fact is though they smartly didn't get excited by the fanfare and chose a better football option.

Whether we like it or not Dortmund are a better pathway for young talent to improve then be sold to whatever club they desire.

His Dad played football and was pretty good at low level from what I heard. I’m sure he was level headed enough to articulate if you’re investing in my son you should probably be bringing the people to me who are going to be looking after his development. Not the ambassadors.

Shows lack of direction which turned out to be true anyway. So just shows we was wrong in what we did.

For all we know Dortmund's DoF Michael Zorc took care of him and the transfer.

And I feel a bit like Robson might make the same mistake many in this forum make as well: Thinking it's an honour when SAF is showing you around. It's not. It's a bonus if he joins, but if the manager or DoF aren't there, then you just prove your lack of intent and seriousness.

He doesn’t seem like the midfielder we are missing.

That’s more to do with his playing style than his ability.

I find it hard to believe that the current Liverpool ownership would fork 100+m when it's clear that they need rebuilding in other areas as well. If they could get a new owner before the summer then yeah it's possible.

I think he might well start over Rabiot, since Deschamps prefers his CBs at FB over his FB options, so you can afford a more attacking #8 and less burden on Griezmann to create in midfield, with 4 CBs and Tchouameni behind Bellingham to let him attack a bit. Lucas out and Theo in changes the balance of the squad quite a bit.

Agreed. If the club sign him it is because they see him as a "generational talent" that we can't afford to miss out on as opposed to a player who we desperately need. Enzo Fernández seems like a better fit for us than Bellingham.

I think Liverpool would be a poor move; never understood why they were considered favourites. They look to be on the decline and Klopp doesn't seem to be interested in extending his contract. Looks bleak for Liverpool's prospects.

It would be a strange move for Bellingham. Real Madrid would make far more sense.

Always thought it just depends on whether Madrid/Perez see him as a sure fire long term investment, if not perhaps Liverpool or City come into play or he stays another year if Dortmund expect a silly fee. I see him going for 70-100m.

I thought Madrid were well fixed in mf with tchou and Cama, though I guess they'll be losing modric and kroos soon? Can't say I'd be too gutted missing out on him, excellent though he looks

We'll take Enzo and Real can have Bellingham.

Liverpool will then presumably go for Caicedo.
