Please let Souness be in the studio when we go to Anfield in March.
This is something I want to see, with a Casemiro masterclass.

I hope someone in the studio has the cojones to say, you got dominated by a steady edy.

There might be an opportunity way before that like against Palace/Arsenal as both on Sky

Kind of story you hope isn't made up.
It was reported at the time of signing that he was more than up for the challenge of bringing us back and that was a large part of the appeal for him coming off winning everything at Real.

At this moment with Martinez, my favorite united player. Great attitude even after all that he has won.

Nothing more can be said against Casemiro. What he controls this team, how much he is the cornerstone of this Manchester United midfield, how much he is also an agent of this change in mentality and in the level of performance and security, he does everyone around him play better, both behind and in front

Watched some quickfire interview and it's interesting that he thinks Sancho and Antony are the most skillful in training.

Really wish we start to see that on the pitch consistently from them both

Casemiro is a far more complete player than Pogba but passing wise Pogba was better. Casemiro just doesn’t get slated for a lose pass. Carrick was nowhere near either and yes beyond that Scholes was an absolute genius. At times Casemiro reminds me of Pogba, capable of the sublime and also of hitting an opponent 5 yards in between and at times he reminds me of Scholes...having a picture before the ball arrives.

What is for certain is that he’s way better than I thought he would be as a footballer.
disagree completely .....Carrick was an incredible passer of ball with either foot and he was fantastic at moving the ball quickly to give the team a nice high tempo of passing. Pogba was all show and no substance

Casemiro i think blends a great style between Scholes and Carrick, who i personally think are the two best CM's we've had at United in the past decade. Casemiro is the most important signing we have had since arguably RvP

Well, he kinda did fix it
I mean the specific wording; like something out of Scarface.

Was well documented he came here for the challenge; was discussed here as some were adamant it was for nothing but £££.

In terms of defensive steel, neither Scholes not Carrick offers the hard tackling that Casemiro brings. Carrick was masterful at positioning and interceptions, which Casemiro excels at, but Carrick was never one I'd consider a tackling ball winner.

I personally feel Casemiro is more a mix of Carrick and Keano

This is a quote from Ducker's article:-

Real officials revealed they were going to give Casemiro a final chance the next day to reconsider his position and stay. But the midfielder would make it clear his sights were set firmly on Manchester, leaving Madrid with little choice but to sanction a £60 million transfer
It was obvious that RM wanted to keep him and did their best to do so, which shows that he truly wants to be here and doing his best in every game to help the team in every way he can.

He's an example to every football player on earth. "Why would I sign for Man United after losing 4-0 and finishing 6th last year? I just won the Champions League?" Players like this want challenges. Players like Di Maria and Sanchez run a mile.

He also excels in the dark art of tactical fouling with minimal punishment, something Keano is not too subtle about. I dont think we ever had that kind of player.

true...defensively not the case but in that discussion he was talking about the inability or lack of passing skills. Scholes was the worst tackler of the ball i've ever seen. Shocking actually but funny.

Scholes wasn't worse than Pogba. I like Pogba a lot more than most on here but goodness me he had terrible timing of how and when to foul. Also somehow always ended up behind the ball carrier. He was shocking

Down south...somewhere
Feck- goose bumps. Like a king.

Give him the arm band. Don't know what the feck are we waiting for.
Don't need an armband for the others to know who's the boss - plus it helps when you speak fluent english to be captain I think.

Bet yes, a genuine happy moment when I read it - whether it's true or not is a different story but still, we can only believe what we read.....back to the flat earth thread I go

Ducker's article says we wanted him AND De Jong. Would have been a really great foundation, to be honest

I am very happy for Case. It seems that after the initial doubts he has found his place.
I am very happy for you too. It's as if you had been eating chicken nuggets for years and you've finally tried a filet mignon
Now it would be nice to get him a "Kroos"

It was always shocking to me that people were writing this signing off. Just a couple of months earlier he was pivotal in Real Madrid winning the Champions League. Anyone who watches La Liga and Madrid knows how good this guy is. Souness clearly does not watch football outside the Premier League, he is woefully misinformed about players outside the league. He reverts to flashcard punditry, usually based around bashing "Johnny Foreigner". Souness also has a habit of basing his punditry on something negative that may happen in the future instead of what the player represents at the moment. He based his whole defence of Ronaldo on a fictional conversation that he insists Ronaldo must have had with ETH. No evidence or inside sources, but he is convinced this conversation happened and even knows the basic words that were spoken. Souness is a proper weapon and should be avoided at all costs.

Anyway, back to Casemiro. He is sublime and it is so good to finally see a top player who is still world-class and actually wants to play for United for football reasons.

Even his knee slide is smooth as feck
It's great but you just know that every time he's scores the groundskeepers will just mutter "feck sake".

Yeah the minute I heard that it was obvious he was never just hear for the money like the lazy media narrative. Please let Souness be in the studio when we go to Anfield in March.
"Casemiro has never been a good player. Look at this moment from United's fifth goal. He intercepts the ball, stopping Liverpool from attacking again, drills a 30 yard pass to Rashford and it's in the back of the net. But where's the backpass to the keeper?! He can't even do the basics!"

On paper. But I don’t want a player who’d rather be at Barca. I want a player alongside Casemiro who wants us back at the top like Casemiro.

No more Di Marias thank you very much.

Yeah unless he proves he's willing to push for the move in the summer we should look elsewhere.

I feel he fits what we need there more than Bellingham/Fernandez,however no point in buying someone whose heart isn't in it.

People were suspicious! World class player? Must be on the decline. Not on the decline? Madrid didn't want him anymore and he's here for money. Madrid actually wanted him to stay and he's here because he wants a new challenge? Something must be up, this deal is too good to be true.

Fully expecting him to score an own goal in the last minute tomorrow and cartwheel away with a tank top under his shirt that says "Iol I'm a double agent for citeh you rag cnuts" before high fiving Pep and sending out a press release that says "I'm the one who kept blocking the toilets at Carrington with my famously large turds."

More passion merchant trite.

De Jong is a good footballer. United needs good footballers.
