If he has the same impact as he did against Argentina in the World Cup we'll be very happy  .

Fabinho's forehead
"Did you watch when Wout scored THAT goal, grandpa"

"Yes, I was watching it live, kiddo. It was the best tap-in goal in history of football"
Nobody has ever seen him touched the ball in United shirt and yet he's managed to make some fans having an imaginary conversation with their imaginary future grandkid.

First day at training:
"Hi guys. I'm Wout Weghorst and I'm considerably richer than yew!"
Hmm. Petrol stations in the UK barely break even, unless they are doing massive volumes. That’s why they rent out space to Subway and Starbucks.

I disagree, he scored most times he played but Ole just froze him out for some reason

Anyways, hope Wout scores against Crystal palace
He looked out of his depth in the PL. He scored against some lower sides in the cup, but could hardly run after 15 minutes

Yeah Iggy was not all bad. I wouldn’t say he did much for the team if he didn’t score. Still could have been used more - off the bench, at least.

Interesting stat from the game. City attempted 20 crosses. We attempted just 4. Be interesting to see if the arrival of this absolute unit changes things up a bit.
Maybe even DDG will find his man now from time to time with his high balls!

I suppose theres a few factors in that, namely being City had a target man up front while we really didnt given Rashford and Antonys positions and Shaw wasnt bombing down the left hand side like normal.

Hope he bows in for the win, and doesn’t decide to bow Wout! Seriously I hope ETH keeps the shape we had today and Wout doesn’t throw us like Haalllllaaaand throws Peps system.

I know very little about either player with only game I've seen from both being Netherlands vs Argentina in the WC, but is Weghorst similar to Haller in any way? If so, really interested here to see how this works out.

Martial still is main #9, Weghorst is here as a back up and give us an option B as in crosses and back to goal play.

As @Isle said, Martial is still the main 9 so it won't throw his system

Ighalo was quite effective for the first couple months after he joined, but then we had the Covid lockdown and he struggled badly after that.
I remember it as Ole not giving him much opportunities for some reason, he didn't even get a single minute against Watford his former club after Ole had promised him game time against them.

That's when I knew there was a problem

I'm interested to see how Antony's game changes. Been a bit of a one trick pony thus far which is well documented but he usually played with a proper centre forward with a presence at Ajax. Haven't seen many back post crosses from him recently, maybe he realized our forwards don't make those kinds of runs. Wout does from what I can see so we should see some more crosses from the right wing, and some variance in Antony's game will open up more space for him.

No doubt A needs more variety in his approach. He is one I think might not listen to ETH; hopefully I’m wrong, could benefit from some wise coaching.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

Ighalo didn't get much gametime, but he was really bad in the time he did have. Looked extremely slow and unfit, like he hadn't kept himself fit at all during the lockdown break. In theory maybe with more minutes he might have played himself into better form, but on the other hand you've got to earn those minutes and he certainly didn't. It was a shame because he'd been fairly good before the break.

Someone in a different thread was saying that he’s actually shit in the air. I’ve no idea if that’s true.

As others have posted, it completely depends on the striker you have as to whether to cross or cut in.

martial (I know he has his fan boys) does neither running through the line nor have the threat from crosses, don’t even think he’s a striker.

wout will give us a change to the system teams aren’t used to should we need it with switching from wide players cutting in to wide players crossing.

eth will have something up his sleeve that’s for sure to make this work with this squad

Burnley fans say he's more technical rather than a simple target man.

But seeing how Havertz was winning headers all night, he would probably dine against Palace.
