Why though? 3 points against Palace are as important as 3 points against Arsenal. If you lose or draw against Palace what good does to rest players in that game. He should be on the bench at the very least so he can be used if the game requires so.
Not really.

If we beat Palace but lose to Arsenal then the gap between us and Arsenal stays at 9 points. If we lose to Palace but beat Arsenal the gap is narrowed to 6 points. Winning one of those matches counts for more than winning the other.

In reality we need to win both. But given the Arsenal game is the more difficult and important one while Palace are a team who should be significantly worse than us even without Casemiro, the best way to win both might be to prioritise the Arsenal game.

Yeah a sensible approach tomorrow would be starting Fred and leaving Casa on the bench only calling on him if absolutely necessary

Ok, I'm not sure that's how it works...
Eh?

Right now there's a 9 point gap between us and Arsenal. If we beat Palace (+3 points for us) and lose to Arsenal (+3 points for Arsenal) it's still a 9 point gap.

They will, but that doesn't really have anything to do with what we're talking about above.
If Arsenal win their game in hand in your scenario, they'll still be 9 points ahead. From a mathematical standpoint, both games are worth 3 points and they don't count more than the other. If you're talking about psychologically etc then sure as that's purely subjective.

There's nothing subjective about it at all. Getting 3 points against Arsenal quite literally counts for more than getting 3 point against Palace, because it also denies Arsenal points from a remaining fixture where beating Palace doesn't.

If we beat Palace but lose to Arsenal, Arsenal stay 9 points ahead and have a game in hand. If we lose to Palace but beat Arsenal, Arsenal are 6 points ahead with a game in hand.

Oh wow, didn't think of it like that. Yes I see your thinking now.

Ok, I get it know. You'll have one game more by the team both teams play each other but still I don't think your team should approach this that way. Every game is important and even though you should win against Palace the team needs to show that on the pitch.

It's way over the top, but this video of his highlights so far this season is crazy. Not even half way through and he took a while to get in to the side.

I love this guy and wish we'd got him a bit younger, but I guess he wouldn't have left Real Madrid any earlier than he did.

There are about 5, 6 goal involvements in there, either which started with his perfect tackle or a pass or assists and of course his goals.

Good defensively, gave the ball away constantly looking for the Hollywood pass. In hindsight the yellow was pointless because they scored anyway.

He’s our best player by a country mile, literally head and shoulders above anyone else in the squad.

He got a yellow because Bruno is a moron.

He was phenomenal in that second half, the number of times he helped out in the box was ridiculous. That yellow card is gonna be a killer for us, he's so important to our midfield.

I can't bear to watch McTominay start

Gutted he got booked, probably have to change whole approach to Arsenal game now. Least he will get some much needed rest.

The right decision to keep him on based on the fact that it was a close game and we were hanging on at the time. It was a bad challenge but we know that defensive midfielders are always at risk of picking up a yellow.

Will miss him against Arsenal but these things happen, we will need someone to step up against them

Head went after the foul. Why did he do it ffs.
Although it may have been a bit premature as he could have let Zaha drive down the line/penalty box free, Casemiro took one for the team because Bruno had lost it for literally like the 3rd or 4th time down that right channel.

He was brilliant defensively.

Easily MOTM. Unfortunate to receive the card. Let's hope Fred has the game of his life.

His defensive work was incredible but he had a passing rate of 68%, has to take some of the blame for the loss of control and sloppy passing.

Casemiro out of Arsenal game is huge blow but that probably means he'll start vs Forest away in 1st leg and that's a positive side for me, don't want us to underestimate them as they seem to be much better team at home than away.
