Tier 2:

Ah so it turns out that the manager/club can stop coaches that are under contract from leaving. Makes you wonder why Rangnick/the club let Carrick and Mckenna leave if they were needed last season.

Really annoying to see relegation strugglers West Ham spend £15m on a striker while we haven't got a pot to piss in.

He signed a "long-term contract" in 2021, so I doubt that it'll expire this summer. Next summer might be a possibility.
It was his first professional contract at the age of 17 in 2021, which means it can only be 3 years maximum, so it expires in summer 2024, I expect after his return from his loan spell, he might be tied down to a new long term contract or be sold.

Source: Edgardo Lasalvia, Pellistri's agent, in 100% Sport, a program in Sport 890
"We are clear that Manchester United want Facu Pellistri to stay at the club, he is one of the biggest in the world. However, we need him to play. There are many options in Europe for him" Edgardo Lasalvia on 100% Deporte.
The good thing about the meeting with Manchester United is that they understood that Facundo Pellistri needs to play more. The coach promised to try to give him the minutes he deserves. Today we have another meeting.

It is true that Flamengo called us but the priority is not to return to [South] America. Facundo is incredibly calmer than me. He has a tremendous maturity.
Here's why Lasalvia was asked about Flamengo: yesterday, O Globo (Tier 3) reported that Flamengo were apparently interested in acquiring Pellistri on loan with United interested. Their initial offer was a loan with a purchase option and wages fully paid by them.

We need to stay away from these 33 year old has beens. I think it's all BS anyway
The odd one or two is fine when you've got a young team but we aren't a young team anymore really, I actually think we could do with adding 1 or 2 young midfield and defensive prospects.

We all love United
Feel abit for Pellistri. Went to Alaves on loan twice and achieved almost nothing. Surely he deserves some cup games and the odd league sub appearance from Erik?

I just think Sancho/Antony/Garnacho are all inexperienced and in big games where might need a bit of maturity and a calm head he would be an amazing option when fit. Obviously you don’t give him mad wages or anything but on a free - no brainier really. Presumably that’s why Pellistri and Elanga are not getting minutes…could either of those be expected to make the difference in a tight game?

I generally agree but Reus has been predominantly used a no.10 for quite a long time now that I don't even think he'd be signed to be a wide option.

Still surprised with the Elanga links. I don't think ultimately he's good enough, but we're still very light on numbers up front as it is.
