Is anyone else concerned with his technical ability? His first touch isn't that great. Range of passing is non-existent. His hold up play is okay but nothing special.
I was sure I didn’t click into the Lukaku thread

Ridiculous footballer, glad that he's healthy because he's a joy to watch when out there

I still wonder could there be an opportunity to get him at 28 when he is at peak after Kane has had a few seasons with us, FINALLY won some trophies and helped Casa, Varane to add to their tally as well

Would absolutely love Kane if it's possible, not sure how viable it is though given that Levy wouldn't sell us a cold

Let alone their greatest player in the PL era. Think he'd much sooner sell him abroad than to United but who knows, maybe Kane himself forces the issue to stay in England.

If not then Osimhen is my favorite target and he's the perfect age and profile to be long lasting asset and key piece for ETH's United. Ticks so many boxes for a suitable no.9 in his system.

Yeah we haven't dealt with him since Berba way back in 2008

Would be stupid to enter a bidding war with Chelsea when we can get Kane for half the price and then look to the next big thing in a few years time with trophies in the cabinet, the profile of the club back to where it should be and players chomping at the bit to join us again.

Can we get Kane though is the big question

Lets just say getting new ownership (not minority stakes) makes that significantly easier
We don’t need oil money or even new ownership to get Kane this summer. He is a Glazers’ wet dream signing. And Ratcliffe would definitely want to announce his arrival with such a signing.

It’s on the cards whatever the scenario.

Theres nothing in there to say his age couldnt have been changed. Falcao's family made him younger by two years and a nursery falcao attended as a small child called out the discrepancy on his birth date as he went to that nursery for two years.

Its probably alot more common than we think. There a dark side to football and huge rewards on offer. Anyway thats a different subject for a different thread.

Likewise, there's nothing anywhere to show that he's an age cheat.

We dont have access to the birth records of the hospital he was born in. Therefore we draw conclusions from info out in the public.
One of such are pics and vids of his younger self at 16, 17.... from those pics anyone can tell he looks his age.

Also, in Nigeria's social media space, there's been no case of anyone from his past claiming he's older or given any reason to doubt his age.

From what you're saying, we might as well assume every South American player is older than they claim just because Falcao's nursery teacher claimed he's 2yrs older.

But if he stood his ground he’d be off to Arsenal, Chelsea just turned his head.
Players will want new challenge and won't keep waiting. Player would still be keen to leave Napoli to join any clubs in PL for new challenge. The same Mudryk, leaving Donetsk to join Chelsea is still considered as new challenge for him and also something that any players will take.

Maybe but where’s this mythical striker that has pace, power, great first touch, good hold up play and a good finisher? Oh and under 28 so we don’t think he’s a geriatric.

Whatever striker we sign will have weaknesses. There’s not many better strikers than Osimhen currently playing.

If Darwin Nunez can get multiple chances in England, I think Osimhen will do just fine.

Pace and power always works in this country.

The transfer fee alone puts United out of the running to sign him.

Plus any new owners that come in have a stadium to re-build.

Nigeria has implemented very stringent age controls over the past decade. Players like Osimhen were still at secondary school when they were recruited, and they have to pass an MRI bone scan. Ndidi, for example, got booted from the U20's for failing his. Osimhen has played through all the age-grade competitions without issue. I'm fairly certain he's exactly the age he claims to be. Plus you can easily see how much his body has changed over the past 8 years which doesn't happen with age cheats.

Middle East owners wouldn't bat an eyelid, however with someone like Ratcliffe you are right to see it as an issue

Because see him running us in a much more sustainable way whereas for them it's all about winning and spending whatever it takes to make that happen
maybe he sees us being more sustainable by winning? so will therefore initially pump money in and then spend moderately to keep us at the top? No way of telling a ME owner would just come in and spunk money either

Yeah that's also a possibility

I think what we have to remember is that Utd *should* sign the player who makes the team perform at their best, not necessarily the best player. Osimhen looks excellent but my sense was that his technical play and hold-up play are not plus points. Given by how much he likes Martial, will EtH not want someone who can score goals AND contribute on the ball? I don't think we should be touching Kane either; at this stage, he's worth a lot more to Spurs than he is to us and he has a lot of miles on the clock because Spurs have used him intensively. As a general rule of thumb, we should not be in the business of signing players who are 30+ for big money. Out of the players we seem to be interested in, I'm most intrigued by Ramos, looks to have a better goalscoring record than Osimhen had at the same age (Plus precocious players tend to be speedy and Ramos ain't speedy which makes me think there's even more to come).

Sounds mental but honestly think we could afford a Ramos & Kane under mega rich ownership

I like both but would honestly still prefer Kane. He's as safe of a bet as they come and also a proven leader that can massively benefit our young wingers. Osimhen does have the pace, but I'm hoping Kane could be for us what Benzema is to Real and Lewandowski to Barca. A veteran up front that can aid our young wingers and take pressure off them.
