I think we will see how effective Eriksen has been prior to injury in the next month or so.

Out for 3 months all thanks to that neanderthal- Andy Carroll. He should be made to forfeit some of his wages to compensate for our loss.

As much as I like Eriksen he will not be missed to such an extent.

I hope all those who said he wasn't good enough in a midfield two are happy.

Eriksons a Big loss i rate him very highly - but if we get the Saitzer deal done in time this guy looks like an ideal replacement and with perhaps a touch more energy

He's been a good signing for us all things considered, but he shouldn't be playing in the big away games. Certainly not in a deeper role anyway, and especially if Casemiro is out.
In both the City and Arsenal games away he's really struggled with the pace of the game and was completely overrun. He's never been a monster physically of course, but with his obvious injury/health issue he now really doesn't have the energy or legs to be be able to compete. He doesn't have the defensive intelligence to make up for it either.
If he played in a 3 with another two players who can cover for him he'd be useful, but certainly not in a 2.

Gutted by this.

Him and Sabitzer together would have given us a good amount of depth and coverage.

We need to stop playing our best players in all games so they are always available.
Great, I assume your crystal ball tells you which games our best players will be injured in so we can avoid them then?

Careful now, the 'there was no way to avoid this' army will be onto you and explain why you don't know anything about football and believe in the manager ffs.

Let's hope the prognosis is erring quite far on the side of caution and that he's back within the fold earlier.

3 months out is a massive blow, what kind of ankle injury is it?

Shit news. He's made a big difference to us on the ball even though certain games have been a struggle for him off it and think we'll miss that ability. Hopefully Sabitzer can be an able replacement.

Shows the type of person carrol is,not only was he intent on injuring a fellow professional but to intentionally try and sideline eriksen of all people considering what happened to him at the last euro's, scum.

You have to wonder why a team would consider having Andy Carroll in their squad. Such an obvious thug.

Andy Carroll first went after Eriksen and then Casemiro. Casemiro was able to jump. Looking at both tackles, I have no doubt at all that Carroll's intent was to injure them both. He doesn't have a chance to reach the ball in any of the situations and he tackles with full strength and his whole body weight. It's against the 2 players who have changed United's midfield, and it makes sense to go after exactly those two if you're a real idiot.
Also went after Fernandes. The cnut.

People are slating Caroll waaaay too much. He's road is over, he's playing for f... Reading in a lower league and he has a go at one of our players? Arsenal can make a really big case against their players too. Ive seen worse tackles against our players in Europe like the one that should have ended Shaw's career. The way Shaw's teammates conducted themselves after that was appaling. No spine. We lost that one 1 2 against PSV and didnt deserve any better. In reality Eriksen is a great signing but he just doesnt have the engine for 90 minutes anymore and its plain to see. He is a AFM maestro who is useful in a good setup (30 to 60 minutes). I imagine SAF would have used him much better the way he used players like Larson, Sheringham or Ole. But thats just my opinion

Provided we win tonight,he had a really good chance of winning his first piece of silverware with us and he's injured :(
They probably issue a medal for a injured player if he had some minutes in a certain competiton. Forest is 99% done but we still need to beat Newcastle which is no easy task currently

This has been exaggerated. He's fine starting games, if he gets tired in the latter stages sub him, no big deal, but his stamina is no where near as bad as some people say.

This whole arguement about a player can get injured at any time, so they can play all the time just doesn't make sense. This is because it ignores simple probability.
If the chances of a player getting injured in any particular game is 5%, that means a player that plays 20 games is almost guaranteed to get 1 injury. If that same player only plays 10 games, his chances of getting injured halves. So the more games you play, the more likely you are to get injured.

I personally think ETH is playing the first team all the time to improve playing style and build team chemistry quicker, which I'm not against. We just have to accept that it comes with this risk.

The most shocking thing is that a tackle resulting in a 3-month injury was not deemed a yellow card-worthy
Its crazy when you realise VAR can spend 5+ minutes deciding if a player is 1 pixel offside, but a full force tackle from behind nowhere near the ball is deemed not worth looking at! fecking useless!

Its not about hear say its about what I see on the pitch and he gets gassed and he cant influence the game anymore. Worst case scenario its just 30 min but I think it would do him a world of good
