Meh, third episode was alright. Acting was good, but it moved too slowly.

I'm watching the third episode again and trying to understand why Bill is standing in the middle of the road when his town gets attacked. There is a wall by his house he could have used as cover. It's like he was trying to die.

Maybe he was behind the wall initially and had to move out to the middle of the road to get a clear shot at someone who was about to get over the fence?

I wouldn’t lose any sleep about it anyway. It looked cool and that’s the main thing.

Could be the case, but since there were multiple raiders, it seemed pretty dangerous. I did think it looked cool on the first watch. Didn't really think about his positioning.

It was to show how much of a badass he is. Purely aesthetic over realism which I quite enjoyed if I'm honest.

I think it was just a theatric way of showing what he was willing to do to protect Frank. It obviously didn't make sense to do but I think it got the point across well enough. Again, probably just putting the gauntlet down for Joel protecting Ellie.

Anyone else started to play the game off the back of the TV show?

Feck me, t'is hard. I'd say I've put about 3 hours in and according to the PS5 start screen I am 0% complete

The clicker yokes scare the shite out of the girlfriend though, so that's enjoyable.

I did a play from the beginning to finished and had only 18% progress on PS5 at the end

Just started it the last few days and loving it so far. Side stories are usually a bag of shit but ep3 was very well done, the mrs was balling through most of it.

It’s been years since I played the game and I’m realising I barely remember any of it, can’t even recall Bill or Frank.

Boring as feck. Some funny interactions here and there, but boring as feck over all. Don't feel it added anything that couldn't have been covered in a lot less time either. We will never see these characters again, so why the 20 years of back story just to tell us something that could have been told in a fraction of the time? Meh.
Don't worry I'm sure we'll get back to bang bang shooty time for you next episode.

I'm wondering if anyone genuinely thought that was what the show was going to be; ten episodes of people shooting and killing other folk and clickers?

"Hey, remember that cool moment where Joel and Ellie smashed bricks over people's heads?"

"Yeah! And then Joel took out a shotgun and shot the guy in the face!"

"No! I'm talking about when he took out the shotgun and shot the guy in the face twice!"

"That was the same episode, you're just getting confused because every single one of them was so similar."

"Oh yeah..."

If any of you people are looking for life partner goals, I'd say, find someone who loves and defends you as much as this guy loves and defends this show from even the most minor of criticisms. All the better apparently if they can do it in a condescending way towards who disagree with you.

So far I've only "defended" the show from someone who couldn't read properly and a melodramatic City supporter but ok doke.

Nah, but really, I'm not saying that anyone actually expected that I'm just having a laugh. If anything I'm the life partner who nods his head whilst their significant other talks even though I'm not really listening. Or I'm thinking about their hot sister The Wire.

Ah, the “pew, pew” defence. Not seen that one wheeled out in a while. I mean, it’s not like the previous two episodes were non stop action, but sure.

Does it make you question your taste in television and/or empathy and emotional intelligence that an episode which is met with such universal acclaim leaves you that cold?

Or maybe it just makes you uncomfortable watching a love story between two dudes?

Yes, as a man who has slept with many men, Im always shocked by how off putting I find watching men kiss on tv. I mean, I enjoy when men cum inside me, but watching them kissing on tv? ewww. Thats just gross.

As for that other dog shit you posted, do you think I should stop listening to music as well? I mean, Justin Beiber is loved by millions, but I can't stand his music. Or could it be that different people have different tastes, and that just because someone doesn't like something it doenst actually say anything about their character?

maybe the reason I don't like it is because Im not dazzled by seeing gay men on tv. Maybe, because Im not a straight virtue signalling, internet clout chasing stain on society, I watched the story for it was, and not for purpose of using it as prop to show everyone how "Alright I am with the gayz".

Honestly, feck you. I'll take that points or the ban for that. Utterly sick of cnuts pulling the "you don't like gay people" card to defend tv shows and movies. Just fecking accept that not everything will find universal acclaim. And really fecking accept that thats ok. Let people like and dislike what they fecking want without dragging everything into the dumb fecking culture war. Because as you just found out, you don't know who the feck youre talking to online. You just assume everyone is a straight while male. Which is kinda bigoted of you. Sad fecking loser.

Norman, genuine question... What TV have you enjoyed recently because I think every show thread on the Caf I see you complaining.
Who said I wasn't enjoying the tv show? I said I didn't like the episode as I found it boring. I have issues with the show when Im comparing it to the game.

As for shows I like, I like plenty of shows. It's funny though, when I say I like something. Crickets. Say I don't like something, and there you all are up my arse telling me a cnut for not agreeing with all of you. Rings of power sucks. Willow sucked. Obi Wan Kenobi mostly sucked. Andor was awesome, although I would question why it's called Andor as it's not really just about him. House of the Dragon was really good as well. Perhaps you missed me saying that? Maybe it's not a me problem? Maybe it's a you problem, since you only seem to be seeing me say negative things. Or maybe, it's because when I say negative things that don't align with the hive that I get engaged more and thats why it stands out? Who knows, but really. Who cares? Im some stranger on the internet with opinions just like all of you. Some reason I have to justify myself? you can't just accept that other people might not like the same stuff as you?

Maybe just block me and then you don't have to see my shitty opinions anymore. Or maybe you'll get lucky and I'll get banned any minute now and you'll never have to look at post of mine again. Either way, you have yourself a good night, mate.

I actually agreed with your previous post. So no need to rage at me, I was honestly just curious as most of the TV shows I see you posting in you're overly critical. I'll leave you to it.

Sorry, pissed off and took your post the wrong way. Seeing LGBT people used as props and weapons to win arguments about tv shows just... Anyway, sorry, mate.

I agree with very little of @Norman Brownbutter ’s takes on the show, but this is absolutely uncalled for. Be better.

It was a grand episode but I've no idea why people on Reddit are naming it among the best tv show episodes they've ever seen?!

Yeah I feel the same way. I thought it was a great episode but I wouldn’t call it one of the best episodes of tv I’d ever seen. I think the best episodes of tv I’ve seen have generally had a previous body of work behind them where the episode itself is a culmination of interwoven plot lines which have been carefully set up and built upon, or a characters thematic arc hitting its apex. Or that episode where Del Boy falls through the bar.

I guess for me there has to be build up to be rated that highly, or have Del Boy falling through something

Blimey No:lol:
