There has been some big improvements to the metrolink which has helped. With the continued development of Salford Quays I'm sure improved transport links can form part of the plan.

Edit - assuming if it's a new stadium it will still be located in Old Trafford.

I'm sure but I think there's still going to be a big problem if the capacity jumps up substantially, especially if the village is also built because I would think car parking spaces would be reduced quite a bit given the stadium would likely be where some of the current car parks are - not unsurmountable but could be costly

Car parking will be always be a problem. It is now. Same for a lot of stadium built in urban areas over 100 years ago before people had cars.

Improving public transport will help a lot though. Park and ride should be looked at too.

An underground car park might help but I'm not sure that's feasible given the water table around OT.

You can ventilate a place without air-conditioning it. A roof can be there just to keep the rain off, not for heating or cooling.

The Qataris have my vote if they can put on double trams with more frequency on a match day, I’m easily pleased.

the transport and roads are horrendous would need some serious work in all honesty and that’s only happening in the short to medium turn under the state funding.

I think low 80,000s is the max. Similar to Dortmund.

A standing terrace of 25,000 in the Stretford End. Maybe a standing terrace at either end if possible. I'm not sure. I know the disability section must be incorporated.

That would be perfect in my opinion.

Initially I wanted to keep the old stadium because of history and soul and culture etc but I think we're just better starting from scratch.

It can be zero carbon and recycled water and anything else people might want.

I disagree, I stood on the second back row at the Nou Camp last week and I'd much rather have been in the stadium than watching on TV.

I've thought about this and I think the best option is build a brand new stadium at OT with a capacity of 80,000+.

I'd keep the old OT. It has too much history to demolish.
Keep the South Stand as I think it's the most historic and parts of it go back to 1910.

Then reduce the capacity of the other stands to whatevers needed. Maybe 20,000
The old OT will be used for women's, youths, reserves etc.
Women's football has growth potential and I think playing in such an iconic stadium would give it a boost and attract players.

It's also cool for Youth prospects.
Then we're retaining all the soul and history whilst getting a brand new stadium at same time. Best of both worlds.

Imagine we're trying to attract talent for the youth teams and we can say "you get to play on same pitch as Best, Ronaldo, Rooney" etc.

The way the roof slopes down blocking the fans view is very old fashioned.

When you see Wembley yesterday, you know what's possible.

Yep you will, the principality in Cardiff has it if I can remember when the roof is closed in there even in winter it throws off some heat.

The main issue has always been the Railway track. There have been a few mock ups on YouTube etc that show the current stadium can be revamped cost wise it would probably be cheaper to knock OT down and build a new one.
