"In January of last year, Bild reported that Rangnick identified Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial as ‘mood killers’ within the squad. The Austrian was determined to sell the trio, feeling they had too much influence behind the scenes."

Interesting if true.

Given his display at Sevilla, I don't thing Ten Hag would have kept Martial around if he weren't so desperate for options in attack -- especially considering Ronaldo went AWOL just before preseason started.

He almost sounds like his vision for United's recruitment would be similar to Ajax or Dortmund, a stepping stone club that signs young talent and then develops them to sell on at a profit.
Exactly. Plus to tell the truth all the top young talent in the world now costs a fortune regardless.

Arsenal are a bit of a different case this season but usually you need a mix of young and older talent in the dressing room to win the biggest trophies. Especially in Europe.

Casemiro was exactly what we needed for example as we had the inexperience of Fred and McTomminay at the highest level in the middle before etc.

That's just how it sounds to me from that quote, but for talk sake if that was the model for recruitment he would have been advising for United to take going forward. Then I can see why Ten Hag/the cub decided he maybe wasn't the right fit for a club the size of Manchester United.

Was RR actually right to say MUFC were 6 years behind Liverpool and Man City?

You support a football team who hasn’t won a league in over a decade, isn’t owned by a sugar daddy or oil state, is a traditional big club who do things “the right way” and still a sizeable proportion of football fans want to see you pipped to the title by Man fecking City. What does that say about you and the rest of your fanbase.

I think he said 3 major transfer windows. And he's probably right, at least with regards to City. If ETH can get in 2-3 top players this summer we're still not addressing all the positions that are a bit suspect.

The fecker shoulders a great amount of the blame himself allowing so many shambling results the way he did, it had a lasting impact on the players as seen today.

what? these players were bottling it way before Rangnick. It's the reason Ole was sacked.

And that excuses his performance as a manager? The only thing he was good about was airing our dirty laundry nothing more.

Spoke to more Arsenal fans in the past 6 months than I have in the past decade. You used to have to get to a certain level of friendship before they were comfortable enough to tell you who they supported. Now they just scream it in your face as soon as any convo turns football. Fecking cnuts.

Already said it after the game yesterday that we need a cull when they even so much as smell the league title after one of their newbies was chatting shit as if he's on ArseFamTV.

They're genuinely way more unbearable than the resident scousers.

First, you're a WUM. Second, ETH has gotten so many things right, Maguire, Martinez, Ronaldo, the run, etc.... getting rid of Ralf was also one of them. Third, feck off!

Maybe we really need 10 new players with fighter mentality that would never accept get beaten 7-0.

That statement is an exaggeration especially considering this season but a leopard can't change it's spots it doesn't matter how good the manager is some of these players have a very clear and obvious ceiling. This team still needs significant investment that is the reality but the improvement from previous seasons is all too clear to see. The only thing that's undermined the performances in recent results is that the drop off from the full fit starting 11 to the bench / rotation options is too significant of a gap.

Close this thread. It’s hardly insightful to say we are 6 transfer windows (3 years) behind the top teams…I mean most teams could be completely revamped in that time.

Ralf fanboys are worse than any of the other ridiculous subsections of our fanbase.

Worse than the Ole-inners, the Jose-worshippers, the Van Gaal philosophers and even the Ronaldo obsessives.

I wonder if there is anyone on the caf who falls into all 4 buckets?

Agreed he allowed complacency to settle into the squad people forget we beat his Schalke side in a champions league semi final 6-1 on aggregate and he has a history of big defeats all or nothing football. ETH will learn from this harrowing experience and so will the board , Nunez and Gatkpo could and should have been wearing the red of Manchester.

Really don't want to put more fuel to the fire but that statement is as naive as it gets.... Seriously people, the guy left months ago. Let the trauma end ffs.
Acting as if he is responsible for a trashing today is nothing but foolish.

100% common sense. I repeat this years goal was top 4 and hopeful rid of the glaziers. Yesterday's result aside we are still on for it with a bit luck. Anything we say here is water of ducks back compared to what Ten Hag will be saying this morning. It is not how hard you go downl, its how quick do you get back up.
