He is a bit like Sancho. He needs movement around him or 3rd man runs and naturally keep the ball on the ground.
The majority of the Sunderland attackers tend to stand around waiting for a high ball or cross into the box.

No they don't

Sunderland play with plenty of movement, which is why Amad has slotted in so well in that setup.

Looks like he is not in their squad today? Is he injured?

Might be a blessing that he's not involved, although Norwich would have been a good test for him. He seems a little jaded in his past few matches, not surprised as he needs to get used to the long season.

Mowbray's treatment of Amad for this loan is almost dream-like. He's praised him a lot publicly in press conferences and he's aware of the fact that he has overused him as well.

Very refreshing.

That was last week no?
Against Coventry, several weeks ago. Amazingly after being fouled three times in that run, Amad was booked for pushing the last tackler down, reacting to the cynical nasty foul he suffered, almost Pellestri like in its stupidity.

I wonder if his performances are going to earn him a starting spot in the National side.

I'm calling it now. He will rejoin the squad next season and instantly be the best RW we have at the club.
I hope that’s the case. We have quite a lot of attacking options but no combination looks good enough to win leagues.

We can only hope to compete by narrowing the gap to single digits next season. The next after is when I think we can go head to head with City.

Agreed - closing the gap will be a good step forward. It’s possible to leap forward, as Arsenal have done. We need signings for that, I think, but I was trying to say that if Amad comes back and is at a better level than some of our current attacking options, it would help.

We should definitely keep him here next season if we can't secure a premier league loan for him.

Pretty sure we can get him a loan to a PL club. But whether it suits his playing style and he gets substantial playing time is the question.

Sure, hardly he'll be a starter anywhere but getting substantial minutes it's important. If we can't get that then we better keep him.
