Because he is not as good as Rashford, Antony, Sancho or Garnacho, and there is debate that Amad is better currently.
Except Amad that hasn't been playing here this season, only one on that list that is "probably" better than Pellistri as RW.

I think people expect too much too soon, he's had a couple of decent cameos, it was his first start ffs.

He did ok, solid if not spectacular. Got tired towards the end. Solid 6 out of 10.

Yeah I think people are way to quick to judge him. He looked lively but got tired as you said. There is s player there.

Well he’s moving on then as the plan is to defo send him on loan. I’m not sure he starts every week at a Prem team which is why I said Championship.
Well if he’s not good enough to get minutes at any PL team now then we should just sell him. It is very rare that players go from having no hope to play for anyone in PL at 22 to good enough to play for a top PL team.

Played well and it's nice to have a player in that position being direct and airways looking to make things happen.

He will get better and better.

I've no idea just how he got a yellow card though and would love the referee to answer for that

Rashford and Antony comfortably are. Pellistri has basically only had brief cameos against tiring opposition when the game is stretched and has done OK.

Not sure what to make of sancho, seems a mess, but I would still start him over Pellistri. No idea about garnacho, not seen enough of him at rw really. But he's a better lw than Pellistri is rw.

I actually imagine we would be looking at a PL loan potentially. Kind of like Chelsea sending out guys like Colwill and Gallagher to sides with smaller squads who will give these youngsters minutes.
PL loan would be good even if he doesn’t start every week.

Looks very zippy. We might have a right winger that can beat a man

He also seems very sound on the ball

One thing I like about him is he carries the ball well in front of the defender, but in a smart way that requires a foul to stop him. Quite strong on his feet too.
I'm not overly impressed with his speed and general agility, but maybe he was a bit heavy footed today. Overall a decent game, on another occasion he gets an assist today.

Like how he plays off others. Slips passes into feet and follows the pass. Something our other wide options don't do. City and Liverpool at their best do this all the time.

But clearly physically he's not there. Always a bit surprised that these young lads don't work on their strength more.

Maybe our boy Diego has sold us a pup. He looked alright tonight, definitely a player there

I think he did pretty well considering the pitch was really poor. At the beginning, I felt weird why our players, especially Pelli kept slipping. Then I realized it’s the pitch. So, I think it’s about experience to handle it. Considering all, I would say he had solid performance today.

Good job he’s 21 then

It was a solid display for a first start after just 2 cameos for us. We are being hypocritical here, we’ve been asking for more bedding in time with players that are more seasoned but won’t allow it for our young inexperienced ones.
The logic doesn’t work for me.

I never saw the game but have read that Erik was pleased for him and that he done well.
I will look forward to seeing him start in a Premier League game.

Our fan base might be one of the worst for overrating young players. I think Pellestri has clear quality but how many 21 year olds are starting wide attackers for clubs who want to be in the CL? There are a handful of incredible talents and otherwise most players are going to be mid twenties plus.

He’s not, in my opinion, an increíble talent but he looks good and it makes more sense to have these types of young players in the squad over someone like Sancho who is on silly money and I feel like ETH has given up on.

And he’ll be 23 after that..

Irrelevant
Not sure what your point is. I was commenting on him possibly not having a shot at PL football at 22 which was valid if we were assessing next season.

For what it’s worth I think he’s close to being ready to play minutes in PL and doesn’t need to and should not be looking at Championship.

My point is his age is irrelevant really and I’m not sure why its being focused on as though there’s some kind of cut off point.

I especially like his attitude. The opponents did physical checks on him the whole game. I remember a moment when he run to left to help out defending and the opponent completely knock him out, sent him to the air and he landed five or six meters away. He just tried to get up as quickly as possible, and run to play again! A really grounded and hardworking person!

Jaime Vardy didn't play in the PL until he was 30 and hasn't done too bad

He did ok. Decent performance. However I’m not having him ahead of Antony regardless of how frustrating Antony can be.

Pellistri performance kind of went how I expected. There was evidence out there to show why most teams play inverted wingers. Coming inside with a right footer is very restricted and limited.

Antony is very important for us, but I would like to see Pelli plays the last 15-20mins.
Pelli is right-footed but his dribbling and ball carrying gives us different options, especially when he can carry the ball and drift inside from wide positions. We saw plenty of it over his limited playing time, including this match.

I only saw the second half. He was no more than decent but to me he looks like a much more naturally talented player than Antony, and also a lot more sensible and a lot less selfish with his decision making. Very diligent in defence too. Which means I struggle to see an argument in Antony's favor. Pellistri simply looks better to me.

Much like Gernacho, I like what I see, he’s direct, takes on a man, picks decent forward passes. One for the future no doubt. Enjoying what I see of them both at present.
