Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. I'm not from Manchester and I support the club. If somebody is a Mancunian and wants to claim superiority over me, they're perfectly entitled to do so. I couldn't give less of a feck where I place in the "Superior Fan" rankings.

As a mancunian, I'm very happy about our global fanbase. I love it that millions of reds across the planet celebrate and suffer as one tribe.

I honestly don’t give a feck about Manchester.
This is truly pathetic though. If you don't understand how the city and the club are intertwined then United is just a meaningless franchise to you. The stadium is there, real, in the middle of our community. We're a historic club, built out of a century of toil in this city.

Mancunian fans aren't innately superior to non-mancunians, just as match-going fans don't have the monopoly on opinions. But we're more than just a global sports brand that magically appears on your screens. We're real and rooted.

Of course you are. I just don't care about Manchester. Do you care about Cape Town?

Not in the slightest. But if I passionately supported Cape Town Wanderers then yes, I'd take more than a passing interest in it as a city. And I certainly wouldn't be slagging it off for wum clicks on a CTWFC Internet forum.

I’m a Mancunian season ticket holder and I can honestly say that I feel so much more of a fan than 99.99%

It's just so tiring
Just ignore it. I've been to Old Trafford a good number of times and I've never once encountered a match-going Manc who gave a shiny shite that I was from Bristol.

This is a debate that only seems to happen online.

If it's so tiring, why did you make this thread and post such ridiculously inflammatory things? It makes you no better than the poster you're clearly wummed by.
Because I feel strongly about it. It's not really inflammatory, though. It's a prompt to get us to unite. Out of curiosity, which part do you find inflammatory?

Ffs delete this thread, there was enough of this shite in the takeover thread.

World United?
Worldwide United?
Global United?
Earth United?
Universal United?
All-inclusive United?
Comprehensive United?
Unlimited United?
Non Geographically localised United has a nice ring to it.

Saying you don't care about Manchester on a Manchester United forum is not only inflammatory its ignorant and sad. How can you not see that  bless your little cotton socks.

Nothing gets Utd fans to unite better than saying you don't give a feck about Manchester!

Great idea!

Do you believe the billion global fans around the world care about the city, Manchester? Remember, I don't despise it or anything. I just feel indifferent towards it.

Saw someone moaning on reddit after yesterday's match that they had stayed up until 2am and we hadn't played well. Made me laugh.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

I guess it's better to have it in here in it's own thread than cluttering up a far more important thread.

Wumminator used two distinct words. He said local fans were more important, which I think is fair (as long as they are the ones actually going to games and providing atmosphere). He also said they were superior fans, which I don't agree with. If I were local I'd be doing basically everything that the locals are doing, whereas I wonder how many local fans would put up with the disadvantages of following Utd if we swapped positions. I'm not saying they wouldn't support Utd in that case, but would they still be watching every match if they had to utterly throw their sleep schedule out twice a week, week after week, month after month to do so? Some certainly would, but let's be honest, there are also quite a lot of more casual fans that wouldn't be. I certainly wouldn't say that simply being local to the area automatically makes you a 'superior' fan.

I'd sooner not have it anywhere.

Manchester is just another city, man. The club, now the club is special.
You are undoubtedly 'special' - embarrassed to have people who think like you in our fanbase

And that's nothing to do with being an overseas fan - most do understand how important the 'Manchester' bit of Manchester United is

I lost? I wasn't in competition with anyone. I don't care about Manchester. I don't give a feck about Manchester. I'm indifferent to Manchester. Same meaning.

I care about the club. Yes, I'm repeating this. I don't want it getting lost.
You don’t care about the club if you don’t give a shit about Manchester. The two are intertwined.
