Pep would convert him into CM, just like he did with many attacking midfielder. I think he'd be fabulous in that Iniesta's role.

Ever since Messi some fans just value dribbling ability over much much else.

Having Havertz and Felix in the same side is pretty funny tbh. Two players who look good on the ball and have great technique but present tactical problems with their best position and statistical output.

He can't be your best creator and he also can't be your best scorer. It's why I think the current Portugal team works for him, they have Bruno and Bernardo for creativity and Ronaldo or Ramos for goalscoring.

Very good player in the right setup but he's more of an Isco type player. Give him too much responsibility and he'll be ineffective.

It pretty much is. Matt Law reported a deal had been agreed a long time ago.
"The signs are very, very clear that he's moving to Chelsea" - Max Eberl, RB Leipzig

A direct quote by the Leipzig sporting director is about as good a source as it gets.

No idea why the deal's not yet been formally announced though. I don't think an official announcement makes any difference to the financial side of things either, and they could just announce the move will take place on July 1st and a pre-contract has been signed off by all parties. Leaving an announcement late for marketing/hype purposes makes little sense too since everyone already knows it will happen and by the time the deal actually goes through it will be considered old news anyway.

He'll likely be the marquee arrival of the summer so I imagine they want to milk it.

People in those positions say all kinds of bullshit that's not true. There isn't a legimate news source in the world that calls this deal done.
Why on earth would you trust a media outlet that is by definition secondhand instead of one of the principle parties involved in the deal? Surely you realise that "legitimate news sources" would be champing at the bit for a source like Eberl, right?

Must be fecking infuriating to be a Chelsea fan and watch this guy every week. Has he ever scored an important goal?

I just looked at Atletico Madrid's form since Felix left for Chelsea and they haven't lost a league game. In fact, they've been the most inform team in La Liga, winning five and drawing once. Correlation doesn't necessarily causation, but it's not looking good for the “Felix isn't being used by Simeone properly” crowd.

Tidy footballer but ultimately doesn't have that ruthless streak in him required to make it at the very top level. He creates a lot of good chances but can't put them away.

Remember when Athletico turned down a rumoured €135m bid from us just last summer? Good times

Havertz and Felix must be two of the most talented players in football that seem to do nothing with their talent and they're both at the same club starting up front.

When I watch Felix I get the impression that he is very talented player who might be elite player with few minor adjustments.

Kai Havertz, I don't see anything special about him. I don't see any attribute that anyone can say it's awesome.

In all seriousness, does he have any reason to join Chelsea permanently at this point aside from the dollar?

The bigger question is do Chelsea have any reason to sign him permanently aside from aesthetics?

What's his best position meant to be ? He's doing nothing for us.

Pretty inconceivable we'll sign him permanently. I guess you never know with clearlake though.

Yeah. Always have this tiny feeling that Felix just need a proper position and he'd do a Bale (from meme fullback to world class attacker).

I really don't know what to make of this fella.

Aesthetically, he looks brilliant carrying the ball. Everything looks right.

But he doesn't actually do all that much. He seems to make a habit of not delivering, wherever he's playing.

It's that age old thing of unlocking talent. Yes it's there but it's useless if he can't harness it. It's not all about the managers or positions or systems. As a player he needs to take more responsibility and understand himself why he's not delivering on his ability. You can't just say that managers have to juggle all the jigsaw pieces and alight upon the perfect situation, there's been many a talented player that gets to 28 and achieves very little, often burning through many different situations.

Class player, excellent touch, build up, movement but absolutely no end product. No goal scoring threat Whatsoever.

Could someone please explain what "cut across" means?
Run in front of the defender, so the defender either runs into the back of you (red card or penalty) or stops/halts their run allowing the attacker to strike the ball.

Run across the defender rather than running in a straight line. It forces the defender to either foul you or slow down a step to avoid fouling you.
