I hope we never pay big money for a Bundesliga player, especially from Dortmund, again. We’ve been bitten too many times. The kind of figures being throw around for Bellingham are insane.

Adidas would pay his transfer full or what? Real Madrid is an Adidas sponsored club too.
But we'll make his money back in shirt sales really quickly. And we have 333m fans worldwide.

We don't get a cut of jersey sales. We get a lump from Adidas every year, which is subject to increase if we qualify for Europe or participate in a competition likely to increase the visibility of their product.
Anyway, grown men shouldn't be seen dead in public wearing a football jersey.

I really don't think we'd go for him because we need someone technical to pull the strings - we're going with Casemiro + Bruno for next season. I think you pair them with guys like Jorginho, Thiago or FdJ not Bellingham.

Eriksen's doing a decent job but he's still a #10 playing deep.

That's exactly what we need

I think so as well. Bellingham is a Bruno/KdB type of midfielder who offers goal threat but also loses many balls, nobody to really control the flow of the game. So far I haven't seen a team that plays two of those types successfully.

If I were you, I'd speculate that Barca has to get rid of de Jong to finance Messi. He'd be perfect.

The big difference is Bellingham plays well for England while Sancho doesn’t. Bellingham be a great signing.

Bellingham would be the ideal signing for what EtH wants to do with this team and he'd be a great partner for Casemiro....he'd bring a completely different element than say Caicedo, Mcallister, Rice even De Jong

I guess there is zero chance of Tchouameni or Camavinga? It’s Modric or Kroos leaving?

What a club man.

He wouldn't really bring control though? Doesn't strike me as that sort of player

As much as I'm bummed out by us not getting him, I can just about accept him going to Madrid.

What a midfield they have

They are all staying. Camavinga features a lot at LB but in general they are set in midfield for the future now.

Will be interesting to see how their midfield functions without Kroos or Modric pulling strings.

None of their midfielders would be that hyper-technical creative player, so they’ll have a much more physical, albeit still pretty technical midfield 3.

Can see him doing the reverse trajectory of most players and going to Madrid until he’s 24/25 then coming to the PL for his peak.

In that case we should never buy a premier league player again as we’ve been bitten many times by them as well.

Little bit surprised that he’s not going to go to City for a few years. Then just follow Haaland to Madrid in a few years carrying a sack full of trophies.
