Out for rest of the season. Disaster situation.

The one hope is he comes back as good as he was for next season

Will 100% take his season to be over with recovery in six weeks rather than it being a career defining injury such as the the Achilles
Absolutely, an achilles tear/injury was the worst case scenario seeing as how. they often linger and can affect careers moving forward.

By that update he should be good to go by preseason time. It was always looking pretty bad in real time since he had to be carried off. Fully expected him to likely miss the rest of the season after but we dodged a slight bullet now that it's not a long term muscle/deep tissue injury.

Absolutely terrible news for our late season run in but also could've been much worse given the circumstances. Still very sad to see such a solid debut season end like this. Feel he's the type to come back much stronger though thankfully

Indeed

If I remember correctly didn't we rush Rooney back from a metatarsal injury and it backfired vs Chelsea on his return

Along with the obvious defensive stability we miss, licha was so important to our attacks too, always looking to go forward, making things happen, this is what I think we will miss the most, eriksen returning dampens it a bit, but such a huge attacking miss imo

Hope, We Lose
Sad end to a promising season for him. I think we can still expect him to be even better in the future, especially if we make some signings around him on the same level

How many games did we have our strongest first 11 this season?

Very few I'd imagine.

Ignoring the fullbacks but Varane, Martinez, Casemiro, Eriksen, Martial for example.

The answer to your question is ZERO.

I don't think we started a single game with

Ddg
AWB/Dalot varane Martinez Shaw
Casemiro eriksen Bruno
Antony martial rashford

Or had them together at all

Probably had a few with Ronaldo stinking the place up. That feels like a million years ago.

Closest was Forest 3-0. Just Malacia instead of Martinez.

As long as it’s not injury hurting his career, it’s a good news, even if it means he is out of the season. There are many more years to play and he is only 24 as I remember?

He's 25. Our season could implode.
It's up to Maguire to step up and just be a warrior

I might get a shirt with Martinez 6 on it. I think he's my current fav United player. Silky skills coupled with tough as nails attitude.

Miss this guy the most in the team. He in just under a season has become a favorite for many. Just brings much needed calmness to the defense and even gets out of pressure brilliantly. Just a great player all around. Wish he was there for the run in and the final.

Licha is the most pivotal player on this squad. I used to think that role was assigned to Casemiro, but transitioning the ball from the backline to forward areas of play was so critical to unlocking the opposition defense.

Agreed. Probably our most influential player. If not one of the top 3.

Agreed, he probably is the best passer at the club currently. Is able to break though the mid field and play some amazing passes.

Also seems to know de gea's ability to feck up and brings the ball out of pressure.

If he was there, probably wouldn't be so worried about top4.

Badly missed. Best passer of the ball in the squad.

His direct passes through the lines are crucial to ball progression. Yesterday, we had Shaw and Lindelof passing slowly between themselves and then floating a ball into the channels. Which is fine if you have someone like Antonio up there to chase them down.

At least with Licha, he comes out with the ball and demands the players in front of him look for it and fires it into feet. He's happy to wait for the opposition to move first and for the spaces to open up.

Easily our best and most important players.

He's one of those that help to keep the standard high, can't wait to watch him in pre-season.

He would be on relative peanuts at Ajax and despite the transfer fees, probably is on sth like 80-100k here, 40% increase sounds dramatic but it would still be substantially less than what Maguire and Varane are on.

Do well and get rewarded, not much wrong with that. It’s the reverse that’s the problem, we are just terrible at shipping out non performing high earners.

He’s not even been here a year though? It would be stupid to do this

If you aren’t extending his deal (which means a sign on bonus) then this is the logical way to keep him sweet. A couple of millions a year would be trivial when we discuss a renewal in a few years time.

Underpaying one of your best players (who is of a very good age profile) would be more damaging long term for squad building/harmony than just forking out some extra cash. It’s Maguire on 190k, De Gea on 375k and Sancho on however much he’s on that is a drain on our finances, not an extra 30-40k/week on Licha.

You are being critical of Club on made up rumour by Mirror wow , there are lots of issues at United which we can criticise without relying on less than credible tabloid garbage .
