My view has been and remains that when one goes, the price of the other rises further in line with their value to the club. This is why I think clubs will be trying to get their business done as quickly as possible in the summer.

Be surprised if Arsenal don’t sign him

We have to pull out all the stops to sign this lad. Boyhood United fan so we gotta leverage that to the max imo.

At the time we were trying to sign him and the ownership stuff muddied the waters, how come Brighton managed to cut through that nonsense and had we anyone other than the Glazers in charge would we have got him?

I was joking. He did play well at RB though.

Love his application, wonder why he’s been shifted the RB. They had an injury? Been there since they bet us.
Yeah Veltman is injured

He’s special. Was he playing as an inverted RB today?
Yes, he was playing as a inverted RB and with him inverting infield to come into midfield, Brighton took control of the game by creating a overload.

Hadn't they bought a player on a similar type of deal which made it easier, wasn't it name something like Arce but I am sure the Brighton fan will put me right.

Brighton will have already signed his summer replacements. Seriously well oiled machine
What we really need is to recruit a spy in the Brighton ranks, make noises to buy their players, but pull out and go for their ready-made intended replacements instead

We were in for Caicedo before Brighton and pulled out. That's what we need to look at.

I see. It's kinda crazy (and embarrassing) that Brighton would demonstrate more knowledge as to how to get a transfer of this nature completed. Isn't it the recruitment departments job to obtain this sort of knowledge so the club can complete these deals.

I also thought (maybe incorrectly) that part of it was potential dodgy 3rd parties that may own him which a club of our stature wouldn’t want to be seen dealing with. Don’t know if I read that somewhere or completely made it up though to be honest.

Caicedo will be more difficult to replace than Mac Allister.

Hopefully Ayari and Buonanotte will progress, we've got Moder to come back who's missed the whole season, I'm not sure about Alzate, but he's another possibility. Gilmour is beginning to live up to his potential and we have Andrew Moran waiting in the wings as well.

We should be fine hopefully.

Been watching him and Brighton more closely since January and he looks a top player, think he's a few levels above MacAllister too.

I agree that he's above Mac Allister.

Caicedo would transform our side imo. We'd stop teams walking through us.

I don't see you allowing both to leave this summer, that's why I worry about Mac Allister to scousers because makes it highly unlikely Caicedo will go too

Mac Allister is benefitting from world cup hype. Decent player, but Caicedo is the stand out of the two.

Caicedo has Roy Keane vibes, a player who will control the midfield game after game. Fergie felt he had to get the emerging 21-year-old Keane, wonder if the current hierarchy feels the same way about Caicedo.
