Absolutely, but even that had much to do with his pessimism, forever claiming Ole was doing well because our team was utter shite.
@Leftback99 starts every season claiming we have the 7th or 8th best squad.
Yep I think he definitely was. Denied it whenever it was brought up of course. His posts were proper ridiculous in this thread at times.
Yeah it’s just sad how there’s a few just seemingly sort of waiting for EtH to fail so they can stick the knife in.

They guys done a good job this season and hopefully he gets the support in the transfer market and we can really kick on next season. Don’t understand how some or so against him.

Well amongst the early season doom and gloom I predicted we would finish 4th

1 point away with two home games to go,

CL qualification is almost done folks..

I don't get your point.

Poch had them come crashing down before he was sacked. He lost control, and the transfer dealings in those few couple finals seasons is hindsight was terrible. Kane extended this contract under Poch after Poch's also got renewed.

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...tenham-future-update-pochettino-a8389546.html

The issue is clearly the lack of ambition which stemmed from Levy. Mourinho Conte even have proven that outside of Spurs, they still win trophies. Conte especially didn't set back his previous clubs for years like the narrative.Inter may fail under Inzaghi to win Serie A but still got to 2 Copa Italia final 2 consecutive year, and this season made CL final. Chelsea won EL with Sarri (his first trophy) against Arsenal Emery (Emery is supposed to be Mr. EL) succeeding Conte.

It's about the history of Spurs more than the managers.
Mourinho and Conte failed, they got more backing in a few years than Pochettino got in 4 or 5 years. Mourinho is past his best as a manager and if you gave Conte 300 million to spend he’d complain there wasn’t 400 million.

Yeh it's absolutely ridiculous. I don't know how anyone could want anything other than any manager we have doing well here, it's such odd behaviour waiting for them to mess up to then decide to stick the knife in as you said. Some have even started doing it when we've had a positive weekend.

The amount of people who were convinced such an inconsistent Liverpool team would win all their remaining games was fecking hilarious. Drama queens.

Inflation. You don't go under the radar getting players for cheap forever. Even Liverpool has to fork out 100mil for Darwin Nunez. The expensive signings under Poch flopped and became financial burden such as NDombele, Lo Celso, Davinson Sanchez, Sessegnon. Even Dele washed up already under Poch and it took years for Levy to sanction his sale.

Who asked Tottenham to sign Rodon, Spence, Udogie, Sar, Gil, Emerson? You think Levy just let manager spending whatever they like? What did Poch achieve better than Emery at PSG with all the backings?

I am not here to convince you. Otherwise, you can go to Spurs thread to tag Spurs supporters in and ask them how they think about Levy. Let's not be off topic when Spurs is no longer in top 4 race.

Yesterday was a great day for my sanity. It's done now pretty much.

To be fair they've come incredibly close to doing so. Literally just one game (assuming they beat Southampton)

Clown of a poster who couldn't wait to post in here after every bad result for Utd, noticeably absent now we've all but wrapped top 4 up?

How surprising.
He’s a rival fan who’s been found out. He’ll be on here Final week telling us all how City will decimate us expecting us not to notice. That’s why he has his profile hidden now, harder to have posts at hand.
Sad thing is he can hide in plain sight on here.
12 points was always too much for Liverpool, 8 odd wins in a row or whatever it is and it looks as if they best they did was cut that in half.
Top 5 race year is going to be strange

Good results yesterday. Nearly there now as the odds have long expected.

Took a couple of weeks of from this place with other more important stuff going on. Seems I've been missed, strangely mainly by posters who "have me on ignore"

Fun fact. I've never once said we won't get top 4 in this thread.

Anyone else strangely feel that Southampton might get something in the Liverpool game?

Realistically, it's extremely unlikely, but there's just some lingering feeling I've got that they might sneak a point or something.

They’ll likely finish with W8 D1 out of their last nine games. Not exactly a wild shout mate. Even though I felt they’d drop at least one game somewhere it wasn’t far fetched to win them all.

Most people who laughed at the thought of them winning them all weren’t actually looking at how different they were end of season compared to beginning. It was 2 different teams.

One of the worst posters on here who went missing in this thread when we lost to Brighton and West Ham. Instead hiding in the 'ITUFSTGIY' thread making posts like this:
I'm pretty amazed we look like blowing top 4.
Basically agreeing I was right all along to point out wasn't a done deal.

I thought your betting account proves you’re always right?
Who are you? Another who 'ignores' me.

Are you referring to a post where someone called me a 'Nostradamus' and I replied saying "my betting account says otherwise".

Comprehension not your strong point is it.

Although the prediction was West Ham win, Rice man of the match, so..

Multiple people yesterday said they'd wipe away Villa who were easily the best team they played out of those 9 games, though. It was pure hysteria, and ultimately, even if they had won yesterday, we were so far ahead in the top four race that the odds of them catching us even if they did win 9 on the bounce was so low. People are mental.

No you have said plenty of times we will not get top 4 n we'll definitely bottle it, I can show you that in this very thread. Don't backtrack.

You know your exaggerating on the 7th/8th bit.

Yes I have my own opinion on the squad, if the manager does better than that like Ole did with a 2nd and 3rd finish, I won't demand them sacked. Is that not a fair way to view them?

We'd have one of the likes of Rodgers, Conte, Poch or that fella from Monaco in charge now if some of you got your way back in 2019.

It was extremely far fetched to be honest, it was a miracle they got to where they did in the first place.
I think we’ll see a lot of players on the way out play v Southampton so that’s not out of the question really.

Why am I seen as against him? Why are some of you so sensitive to any form of criticism for him. All because I said we were struggling in attack a few months back and got abuse for it, now everyone has caught up and can see goalscoring is a problem for this team.

Can even check my posts in the "should he be sacked if we miss out on top 4" thread. Ridiculous idea.

You are massively overstating how unlikely it was that Liverpool catch us. If Bournemouth had converted that huge chance in the second half and Liverpool found another goal in the 10 minutes added time, we'd be looking at having to win both of our last two games. Fine margins and all that. Our games are so hard-fought and close, without exception, that we're always an unlucky bounce away from dropping points.

It seems to have worked out but let's not deny that it could have gone the other way.

Liverpool could easily have dropped points V Forest.
We could have won at Brighton or West Ham if we took our chances . Fine margins work both ways.

I'm not massively overstating anything, as evidenced by the fact that the entire time, the bookies have had us as overwhelming favourites for top four. Ifs and buts are irrelevant here. Pool had loads of lucky moments where they could've dropped points. We had unlucky moments where we did drop points, we had lucky moments where we didn't. That's football. Things even themselves out and we were always far, far, far more likely to get top four than Liverpool. It would've taken a monumental collapse.

We don’t deserve top 4
Europa League is our level. Not even Qatar money can save this.
Deserve another year in Europa tbh.
top 4 is gone. It was gone after the Spurs game. We wont win another game. Its like the end to 18/19 under Ole. The clowns have given up.
No fight in these players, we're done for this season.
We are pretty much out of now.

Between Jim Glazer as owner, missing out on the Champions League fund, Adidas slashing the sponsorship money, and the complete inability of this club to sell players, I feel the best we will be able to afford in the summer is Wout Weghorst and a bag of crisps.
Do you lot go through your every day lives with the same melodramatic over the top nonsense or is it just reserved for United?

Yeah, they'll never admit it but it's ended up far closer than many thought. Hence this thread is still going with 2 games left.

Thankfully a dodgy looking offside call went against them yesterday for once.

It wasn't dodgy. It was 100% the correct decision.

Every time I burn my toast I smash my house up Eastenders style. It costs a fortune. I won’t even get into what I did when we only bought Donny and a few panic buys at the end of the 2021 transfer window

How is it close?

Close would be going into the final game of the season needing a win.

We have 2 home games left to get one point. There's nothing close about it.

We still need a point from 2 home games and if we’re lucky we might finish on 53 goals scored only LVG side scored less. We need much more than one CFW in summer at bare minimum one elite CF and one back up striker. We might need to trade Sancho or Antony in for an upgrade too !

Was nice to see a half decent refereeing performance for Liverpool yesterday. As much as they have improved/been playing easier fixtures for the past 8 or so games, I don't think they've been actually all that great. What's for sure is they benefitted from a LOT of key calls going in their favour in that period.

Still not entirely sure where they got 10 minutes from yesterday. The application of "time wasting added time" is so wildly inconsistent from game to game. Klopp seemed to think they should have had 15 minutes. Maybe the refs will again listen to him and apply that to the Southampton game...

And if Aston Villa didn't miss their penalty they'd have lost. What's your point?
My point is that you are making out it would be preposterous that such an inconsistent team would not win all their remaining games when they were ultimately one goal away from winning their final 9 games.

Can only assume posters won some decent money yesterday given they were 100% sure Liverpool wouldn't win.

Potentially being 7 points clear isn't close.
