Someone explain to me how or why he is going to earn more than Benzema or Vinicius, Modric or Kroos. He's 19 years old, Real Madrid want him and he wants Real Madrid. What is the point of paying him a ridiculous amount before he's even proved himself there?
Because if they don't he suddenly won't want Real Madrid anymore.

I can't get over how clownish we've been in this hole saga. We needed two midfielders last summer. First we were willing to pay 70m+ for Tchouameni, but then Madrid happened. OK. Next up, Bellingham. But he won't be available till next summer.

Stupid decision #1: Let's put all our eggs in one basket, not sign any midfielders this summer and wait for Bellingham next year.
Stupid decision #2: Oh feck, it's only august and it's now beyond obvious we really did need two midfielders to not crash and burn. Let's sign Arthur on loan. trollol.
Stupid decision #3: January window. It's apparent to all we need 3 midfielders for next season and still 2 to salvage this season. Still, let's just wait on Bellingham and hope he can do a job for two.
Stupid decision #4: January window closed? Come to think of it, Bellingham is looking a tad expensive. Don't know how we didn't see that before now. Let's pull pull out and sign 3 affordable midfielders anyway.

Ha yeah you really fecked up and it cost you Champions League football.

I have nothing really to add other than that and that it’s brought us all a lot of pleasure.

I honestly believe that had Liverpool secured Champions League football for next season, then Jude Bellingham would have been playing in all red.

It's very telling how it was only circulating last night in the media about Real Madrid and Dortmund having an agreement in principle for the transfer of the player (AFTER it was confirmed that Liverpool would be playing in the Europa League next season).

Nah. We announced our cessation of interest ages ago.

Who's in charge of your transfer policy? How much of a say does Klopp have?

I have to say that considering all the crap that is going on in Spain with Vinicius opening up the lid on the racism there, it's a bold move from Bellingham. A supremely gifted, confident player like him with a very expressive way of playing in that league of butchers and the general fan culture that surrounds it. Not going to be easy. And I don't think he'd put up with it for as long as Vinicius has.

Add to that the constant public courting of the player by pushing the Trent and Henderson connection at any given opportunity. Because of all this Liverpool went from one of the most attractive options out there to a club where top players (ie those with interest from pretty much every top club around) should seriously consider if they should join our not - all in the space of just a year. It's quite remarkable and shows how much of a gamble it is to wait on players.

As you said a few days ago, there is a World Cup at stake, and until the vote, no nonsense will be allowed.
After that I don't think he will suffer like Vinicius, because even if he is a great player he won't arrive with the role of superstar, plus Vini will have eaten all the shit which in some way or another will make the public more cautious in their reactions.

Imagine what the players are thinking too. "go on, get involved. Wheel him in." Only for someone upstairs whose main involvement has been with a spreadsheet and powerpoint presentation to pull the plug.

Maybe, maybe not. He'd still have been prohibitively expensive

Nah, liverpool made it known months ago that they had stopped pursuing him and this deal with Madrid had been first reported a month ago

It appears Klopp himself is in charge now, which would explain why they looked so incompetent

Yeah but MacAllister is a great player. Pretty sure you've got him in the bag, no?

So what will Carlo go with? Keep the 433? Switch to a 442?

I love Kroos and Modric, but it is time to move on.

Tchou, Cama, Bellingham, Valverde in a 442?

Just had a look at Bluemoon and some of them STILL think he's going to City.

The chancer that claimed it was a done deal in November is now laughably claiming that Bellingham agreed terms with four clubs!

Madrid are putting together a lot of good young players, trying to recreate the success they had with their big signing in the early 10's, downside is that City might have an even freer run while they mature together.

Said ages ago it all depends on whether Madrid go in for him or not and he'd want to play in Spain while many said he wouldn't.

when I saw Danny Murphy claim Liverpool were better off going for Mount, I knew Bellingham had rejected them

87 mil pounds  . Wasn't he 130+ worth player? It is shit load of money but Real still didn't pay premium price

Seems a bit random, was this a fan vote?

"plus bonuses", even if that report is actually true, we wouldn't know how high or achievable they would be.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Him, Camavinga and Tchouameni look like one hell of a midfield for the future. I said it before that they are probably a couple of years away from their peak but that surely has to be the most talented midfield trio any club has at the moment. One could argue that they are missing some really creative outlet like Kroos or Modric but I feel like in the age of Gegenpressing this has become much less of a factor.

Kroos and Modric being replaced by him and the two French flavours of the month. Madrid going for Mbappe next? Again? Will they sue someone this time? All great questions. New Real will be interesting though.

I think if we retain Ceballos we might even try him in the front 3 at times

Btw if he's been healthy to play no way BvB would have choked the title away, you're not gonna change my mind on this :D

You heard anything about the rumour that he might need knee surgery? Saw it a couple of places but I'm not sure about the source.

Yeah but I'm sure Liverpool were his strong 2nd choice.
Wouldn’t they have known this last summer when they refused to sign a midfielder because they thought he was coming now?
Horrendous planning

They just build great team after great team.
It isn't a great team till they showed it on the pitch. Their 100m Casemiro replacement was sitting on the bench in the most important game of their season.
