good business I suppose, sad to see him go, but he had limited opportunities and 6million is a decent amount.

I'm interested to see if there is actual quotes in the article - when it appears.

Barcelona agree £6million deal for Gerard Pique
Last updated at 21:59pm on 18th May 2008

Barcelona have agreed a £6million deal with Manchester United for Gerard Pique. Sportsmail revealed last week that the 21-year-old defender was in negotiations over a return to his former club and the sides came to an agreement over the weekend. Barcelona will pay £4m now and the rest depending on Pique's appearances.

Strange for them to post the headline but not the article.

If true then Evans will be recalled to the team.

I can't see him getting enough games at Barca.

He is still raw but he got talent there is no doubt of that.

Good luck to the lad.

3 Spanish media outlets had reported a day or two ago that this deal was virtually done. I think the move is driven by Pique himself who wanted to move as he was disappointed he didn't get the minutes on the pitch he thought he was going to get at the start of the season.
So United got Rossi and Pique for virtually nothing and sold them for a combined fee of over 10 million pounds. Pretty good business of you ask me.

£6m seems a bit low considering some of the fees we see these days and considering it's Barca who are buying - but I'm just happy it's more than the £3.5m rumoured by the media yesterday.
It's only £4 mill, the other two mill are dependant on apps, I doubt barca will trust him enough to give him that many games.

again he has only a year left on his contract, surely you can't expect £10m.

Man Utd's Pique has Barcelona medical
tribalfooball.com - May 18, 2008

Manchester United defender Gerard Pique is a step closer to returning to Barcelona.

Spanish press reports say Pique was in Barcelona on Friday to undergo a medical, with the £4 million transfer to be rubberstamped immediately after the Champions League final on Wednesday.

4m is a bit cheap

It's actually £4 million, that's not such a good deal.

Although, typical of us selling players on the cheap.

I hate it when we do this, we have had 2 of the most promising players in World Football and we have sold them both together for a measly £13m, yet we are forced to fork over around £17m EACH for Nani and Anderson.

Come on United, stand your ground.

We poached him for hardly anything... he has hardly played... there was no way he would sign a new contract before the summer playing hardly any games. Those asking for more money are being unrealistic.

Yes but these two players wanted to leave. You can't do much in that such situation.

Pissed at this.

Followed the reserves for years...we've sold every decent player we've developed/ brought in and developed young

What's the point in watching our reserves these days?

For some one with only 12 months on their contract £6m is a fantastic bit of business.
